As this is my first time writing anything like this, and now I’ve written a little more and thought about it more, I see the exact same problem. After I wrote a bit, I realized I might have made the mc too op, and that there was no tension. It’s easy to predict and the system is too powerful and in favor of the mc. After writing more, I also realized I made the mc too intelligent for it to be making these conscious decisions. I feel the mc should be closer to barely sentient, but slowly and slowly gaining more awareness as it increases in strength like Chesty in Everybody Loves Large Chests. The series is heavily based off of ELLC, and even a few of the scenes are inspired quite heavily based off of scenes in ELLC. Still, I find it enjoyable to write and I’m too lazy to go back and fix it, so I’ll just continue with what I have now. I really enjoy critisicim like this as I know it’ll help me craft better stories in the future and improve the ones I’m currently working on.

Update: the person who made this does freelance art. The image you sent me is owned by someone, but I might ask this guy to make some art. I might be able to get some art specifically for A Rat’s Second Chance, so thanks Onions. Wish me luck!

Thanks for clearing that up, but I’d feel like I was cheating the real artist though. Unless I can get permission from the real one, morally, and possibly legally, I just couldn’t do it. I’m going to try to contact the real artist to get permission.
