If we wanna get into details, its just the words that arent chosen right not the structure(author just made it hard on himself), it would have been a lot better if it was like, MC looked up with emotion“I’m sure you’re happy I resemble you mom.” Or “I’m sure you’d rather see me inherit your good looks mom.” Or “You would have been happy to pass down your looks to me mom.” I can go on and on. This comes with the experience of writing 1000s of pages.
