Yes, she made a comment in passing about his parents being disappointed him becoming lived-in son-in-law and since then he hates her. She probably doesn’t even know about his background
I enjoy the novel even though mc was a little whiner and a sissy, his constant b*tching and moaning and complaining was getting tiresome, but I really liked the eventual resolution with the death and with his alternate self. So I was hoping he would grow after that and stop with self-hatred. But this chapter and how he basically made celestina his boss and how she is the FL is honestly unacceptable. It’s clear that in their relationship she will also be the one wearing the pants. Why? Why does Azriel not have an ounce of self-respect and dignity? At least make them equal in relationship, why make him her support? And him accepting her desire not to tell competent people about a unique and unexplored and unexpected void creature from the hollows’s eye, that killed everybody is just pure idiocy. What’s the reason for them to risk their lives here? At least get strong people to come and help. Just like Edge was a moron not telling anybody, Azriel and celestina not telling anybody about a rare demon or abyssal near the city is infinitely more moronic. And Azriel knows nothing about this from the book.
Pure idiocy. If that is the case, then every clan, academy and the government are incompetent if they can’t do anything discretely
Why is he helpless, he put himself in this position and decided to be a follower
She dared to mention his parents
This is such a good observation by the author. She has guilty conscience and that is why she projects onto others her guilt and self-hatred, because of what she did to her ‘friends’. Her thinking that is also the reason why Theron hates her, whereas he hates her purely for mentioning his parents and not because of some form of commoner solidarity
Even though Fern messed up, she means well. It’s good to see that there are some genuine people out there and not everyone is a cold-blooded schemer. And this Dean lady can be another master of his :) old man, Thistle, Patriarch of the sect and now her to compensate for her student. Maybe she won’t be a very likely enemy like the others, but potential ally?
She is really annoying and I don’t get who finds this attractive. She might be physically beautiful but her mindset behavior and vibe is extremely masculine, bossy and unattractive. Authors says it’s not simpling, but at the end of day it results one way or another in simping. Meaning he lowers himself and his dignity for her sake at every step of their relationship. He appeases her, supports her, does things for her and in every interaction places himself as number two in relationship. Only people who find this cute or adorable are people who wouldn’t mind to be her slаve, as Azriel put. His interaction with Yelena were more natural, easygoing and pleasant and she is far more pleasing and feminine than this fox girl. Like who cares that she is, if she behaves like a f*cking brute that showers in blood of void beasts? Repulsive. Anime really was a mistake
Not to their women, lol. But to their lords and kings. If a knight kneels before a lady it’s an act of submission and servitude and the lady has much higher status. Nevertheless it’s still cringe. Imagine a noble kneeling to a woman of equal status
