Sin has a lot to do with good and evil, it is nearly synonymous with acts of injustice or cruelty for most people. After all, morality is subjective, which is why we have ethics, a discussion between two competing concepts of the good. Society as a whole decides what is evil and creates laws surrounding it. Religious groups follow what their sacred texts deem as good or bad.
After how the MC was treated during his childhood, the brother still wonders why he denies his family? And the dilemma about being a hero was as cringe as it could get. Insisting that he should just leave if he wasn't a hero was suggesting the fact that only heroes can have morals. The brother is treating the MC like an idiot by presenting this argument and explaining the truth about their family like he was some wise monk or something. Anyone knows you don't have to be a hero to help others.
Someone needs to humble the MC
How is "how does it feel to reach the pinnacle of success at the young age of 35?" a good question? lol
The first 1000 chapter definitely was. There's a part in the story where one could consider it as the novel's ending in a way (Chapter 1307). Beyond that, reading becomes a chore. It recycles storylines of earlier chapters just with different setting and characters around it. I can see people liking it though
I'm now at chapter 1507 and I must say, the story has gotten worse. I'm dropping this, no longer recommended
It's really good, one of the best I've read here. However, there's one aspect of the story that really bugs me, the protagonist often finds himself in situations that would mostly benefit him without any real repercussions. I'm at chapter 1152 and in the past few dozens of chapters, our MC got the sword saint inheritance and a divine beast of the darkness attribute which, in the mortal lands, only he could make full use of. Don't let me get started with the number of inheritance ground he's been in, it's is ridiculous and even if he happens to arrive late in all of them, he still got the most out of it. I guess my issue here is how stakes are almost nonexistent, moments in the story that was supposed to impede his growth ends up helping him in the long run. This makes a lot of the encounters lackluster. I would still recommend it though.
