imo a sentient system would be more accurate to a spirit/sprite when they have such evident emotions (This doesn't go for all systems there are exceptions, but just based off my observation when reading!)

Original species I'm guessing based on genealogy makeup being the most compatible. It'd be like interspecies breeding but their genes would be more dominant than others due to their more enhanced composition and molecular structure. This is at best a probable guess, but I can see why you wouldn't change the species.

Because we wanna see Nectus create his own species of bee, which technically he has already begun through the genes... ^⁠_⁠^

That was a lot to unpack..

It's smart to be cautious but thinking reasonably, wouldn't gauging their strength instead of immediately mulling over plans of attack be more clever...(Not talking to the author, more just writing how I feel about Nectus's train of thought.)
