No...It was explained in an earlier chapter, about adopting this son so he could be the heir in place of his daughter in the Stephens' family. Adam was forced to do so by his father, since Adam had a vasectomy in order not to be forced to have children with other women .... Personally, I like this character -Adam Stephens- so far.

I am wondering the same thing! Also, wonder why she thinks getting pregnant would help her??? He doesn't have to marry her ...& would have enough power & money to keep a child.
