There is some point in them being family because he always felt some kind of connection between himself and the family. I just don't get why he made so much of a buildup on her coming out with the truth just to leave it till the end for her to say something like she could've maybe have stopped more people from getting killed if she would've but most likely Rowena not getting one shotted

He was actually pretty good with Qi back in his day and sense he has only gotten stronger it wouldn't change what he once knew and Ray has been away training .for years so we don't know if he did some Qi training on his own.
