Read until chp 645 during limited free daily before checking the reviews to see how long this ML will continue to be a piece of sh*t, and found out that even in chp 1000 nothing has changed, so will probably drop it here. The review used the phrase "bully romance" which I think is quite suitable. ML is your typical annoying yandere stubborn as*hole who can't put down his pride and has no idea how to act like a decent human being. He is constantly blocking MC's way and even creating obstacles for her - tell me how to root for this kinda ML??? I feel like slapping him. There has never been a scene where he appeared that I never felt disgust and annoyance towards him. Story is interesting but the ML really ruined it for me and I can't bring myself to continue since I know that there is no character development for the ML. Also according to other reviews it is apparently dragged out and slow. Advice: read more reviews before starting on this novel lol
Incredible premise and super interesting plot, but ending was anticlimactic. The potential that it had was so great, but they didn’t do much with it. It could have gone on longer and explored more storylines, but it was wasted. I would say a 78/100. Seriously. Imagine how much storyline you could have when the MC has lived and accumulated 500 years of experience. Still, I would recommend reading it even if just to say that you’ve read it. It’s really interesting. That is, until it abruptly ends.
Super quick read, managed to finish in less than a day during the free 24hr reading. This is basically a speed-run of a transmigration story. The pace is ridiculously fast. It felt like kinda a waste of my time, though. It's the kind where you're not missing out on anything if you don't read it. Read only if you're super bored.
I have read insanely pampered wife until ~2000 chapters and the ML is one of the better ones I’ve seen in Chinese Webnovels. The “Rapey” vibe was only when they first met (I think very early on, their 2nd or 3rd encounter) but it was very short and I would say almost negligible. Definitely annoying when you read it but it 100% gets better. Don’t give up on that novel just because of that. The plot itself is really good. The MC is 10/10. As a couple they are very loving and supporting, no power imbalance that you usually see in other novels with a cold domineering type of ML. Of course the ML is stronger than the MC but other than that he is really much better than other MLs. Just to be clear I’m talking about insanely pampered wife divine doctor fifth young miss
Read 210 chapters during the free 24hr but couldn’t bring myself to continue because I cannot stand the ML. He gives the very predatorial feeling like the MC is a bunny (his prey) and he’s always been sly and manipulative and every other sentence is to trick to MC somehow. Not fun to read with this kind of ML. The kind where the MC is super smart in front of everyone else but in front of the ML she becomes dumb as f**k. Lame. The story is interesting but the romance killed it, unfortunately.
Dropped at chp 1044 because I was getting really sick and tired of the s*upid "baby" constantly scheming to get his "parents" (the MC and ML) together. Even the MC sometimes ignores the "baby" after it's born because of the constant trickery. You can tell that the MC is just not interested in pursuing romance so it's annoying when the baby and the ML keep buzzing around her like flies. The romance feels too forced. The MC is just trying to protect her family in the zombie apocalypse and get stronger and the romance is just dragging her down! Yes, the ML is helpful but I still don't like him. Idk why people cannot just let the relationship/friendship proceed gradually? Why are you rushing and forcing it? Annoying. Other than that the story plot is 4/5. Very readable but the ML and romance aspect really annoys me.
Couldn't continue after chp 1425 (although long before this I was already wanting to drop but made myself continue). The author needs to switch the ML asap. This "ML" sucks. The words used to describe him are usually "scheming/cunning/selfish" etc. Erm??? Am I expected to root for this asshole? He doesn't deserve the MC. It's just too bad because I finally find a good book that's interesting and the MC is super strong, even stronger than the "ML" (which is usually not the case in female-protagonist stories), but the "ML"s character leaves a lot to be desired. Btw i used " " for the "ML" because i think he doesn't deserve the title. The translator note says that this story isn't primarily focused on romance, which is true for the first 900-1000 chapters i think, but it is very clear who the "ML" is supposed to be. And after that the story unfortunately starts to split some attention towards the romance aspect, which really spoiled the story tbh. I think everything was well and good before that. The romance and the "ML" are totally unnecessary. This story really does not need romance. The action/adventure is good enough. In summary: Really interesting story with superb plot and world building and decent characters (except for the "ML"), but unfortunately got ruined by the romance/"ML". If you're looking for a story without much romance, you can probably read until maybe chp 1000 and then drop it.
Gave up at chapter 390, mostly because the romance was really ruining it. Firstly because I'm not interested in reading about romance during the zombie apocalpyse. Secondly because the author claims that the MC is traumatised from previous life and all the torture etc making it difficult to trust people, but that is not seen at all. She gets close to the ML and his group like super quickly, even if she is stated to be "cold" or whatever. Thirdly the whole drama between the MC and ML gets resolved like super quickly it's so lame. There was this whole tension and drama about it but then she forgives him like 5 mins after she comes back? Lame. And then it got sappy from there already. If you were going to break up and make up in 5 mins then why bother with the whole drama omg. The part where they "make up" is when they so-called "officially" get together, which is right after she comes back years later. After that I just lost interest... Even worse than Zombie Sister Strategy which i dropped at chp 1044 because of the forced romance. TLDR; Interesting zombie plot but the romance ruined it for me
How can she think she died in her previous life due to the paragon killing her?? Didn’t she die from committing suicide when she was being chased down because of her demon whatever heart??? She forgot she committed suicide?? Btw I guess the dog saw correctly that she killed herself?
Okay so I actually really like the plot and the MC's cultivation journey and episodes of dealing with ghosts and stuff, but I have mixed feelings reading this because of......... the romance. I don't like the ML. He's your typical cold, domineering, obsessive, possessive ML (why do authors like to write such MLs???). As a male lead I'd say he's a 5/10. I've read worse MLs and I've also read better MLs. I feel like the whole story would be much better if he wasn't in it, to be honest. I don't really think he adds much to the story. He’s just a plot device to make some things convenient with his wealth and power. Another thing about this story is that it's full of highs and lows. It's like being on a rollercoaster. The foreshadowing is... well, it's something. It really makes me worry about what's gonna happen and I have to start speeding up my reading because I'm scared that what I think is gonna happen will happen, lol, and I'll wanna get there faster so that I don't have to be kept in suspense ;p That takes away a bit from my enjoyment of the story, honestly. But overall I still think the plot is interesting and I do like the MC. I've read some reviews that say she can't stand up to the ML and I do agree. She's like mostly scared of him being angry and him showing his stupid cold angry face -.- I wish she would stand her ground against him and just be firm.... TLDR; intriguing supernatural / cultivation plot, unfortunately with an unlikeable ML. It all depends on your tolerance.
For spoilers, if you wanna know about their relationship, it’s actually not bad, quite strong, IIRC there’s only one incident where they had a “major” fight because he kept something from her which made her feel betrayed because she had been open with him from the start. I think it was resolved fairly quickly as in it didnt drag on. The part where she got tortured/bullied, well TBH i dont consider it his fault or lack of ability. It was just too sudden and unexpected so she got kidnapped. As for the bad Guys getting punished, well thats complicated because of familial relations, but you can rest assured that the main bad guy dies. I wouldnt call their relationship fluffy but to me it’s good enough. They clearly love each other and the ML is not the annoying possessive/obsessive/cold type. It’s not a bad story at all, just that there are arcs that explore other characters and dont focus on the main couple / 2nd main couple and i didnt like the last part where i stopped at.
Having read the authors other 2 stories (ROTHE, ROAIN) before this, I have learned to not expect much in terms of getting my questions answered LOL. The explanation for what happened in her past was quite vague. They never really find out who exactly was behind everything did they? The first half was alright but the second half, things started to get messy/convoluted/confusing. There seemed to be a lot of things going on. I didn’t enjoy reading this as much as the other 2 stories (even tho I wasn’t very satisfied with their endings). All in all, I would say 3-3.5/5 stars. Oh, and the plot summary is kinda misleading.
Even though the ending / last few chapters felt rushed (the wrapping up of everything was a bit too quick), it was still satisfactory. I usually have a problem with endings but this one at least didnt leave me unhappy or unsatisfied. All questions were answered. (Except what happened to Edwin wood in the end but i guess thats intentional.) The English isnt the best, but still very readable. The tragedy of Professor Green’s death though..... really just..... unfortunate. Even tho she gets to live on in another body. This isnt really a romance story which is good for me because im not that into romance. Its more of crazy unbelievable things happening and Sophia experiencing life as a not-handicapped teenager. Well idk what else to say. Not a bad read. I read it during the limited free day. Kudos to the author! Good job
I spent almost a week reading up till chp ~484 and decided to drop it. I don’t like that the story moved away from the main characters and focused on their kids instead. I especially don’t like that when the story moved away from the adults, they didn’t even use the main pairing’s kids to do so! They used a side pairing and fast forwarded time when talking about that side couple’s kid. I would have much preferred reading about the Han kids growing up instead of Li Ao. That really upset me because I still thought this was just another one of those arcs that focuses on a side character / side pairing and the novel would eventually go back to the main pairing. Based on the summary and intro, I thought this whole novel would focus on song ci and Han zhan but that’s not really the case. Even though they are undoubtedly the main characters, there are quite a few arcs where other characters backgrounds and stories are explored. I obviously would have preferred a story that focuses mainly on the song sisters. The story started with song ci’s rebirth, after all. I took a look at the chapter titles ahead and peeked at the extra story, and they indeed focus on the kids so I’m completely not interested anymore. I feel sad that the story gravitated away from song ci, Han zhan, song fei, Yan Jiang. I feel like they were the soul of the story. One thing to note, the chapters are actually quite long. I was surprised because I’m used to reading really short chapters in other Cnovels. Other than this I unfortunately have nothing else to say.
