I liked some of it, but just rewrite the Lotm chapters instead of simply copy pasting, and have the main charecter be part of the plot.

The best chatgroup novel I've ever read, a bit angsty but the charecters change and grow. The story's great, kinda hate how much he likes lilly, but that had a nice end. Overall great fanfic author! Maybe upload it to Ao3 you'd probably get a better reception for the angst fluff stuff.

I think you might be forgetting , before he got the children disowned they ambushed him, beat him with sticks, threatened to cripple his hands so he could never be a mage, knock a tooth out. He never hurt himself, all the injuries that had them disowned were caused by the children's that got disowned.
