OMG! he needs conditioning!! what good is form and techniques if bone shatters and tendons rip due to not being able to withstand the force he generates? He needs to increase his bone density and tendon strength and elasticity...

I've cone to the conclusion that people don't forget... They just don't believe it applies to them. They feel their situation is unique and those consequences do matter for them.

My teacher used an old-world training where you roll your shins and forearms on bamboo rods and afterward you would massage (Dit Dot Jow) an herbal supplement that conditioned not only the skin but toughened the bones... I even use it for sprain and muscle cramps...

Rui often likened combat sports with artistry. There were several parallels between them. A good painting was born of three things; The necessary tools, the artist's proficiency with those tools and the manner in which the artist applied his tools and proficiency to paint the vision he sought after. Well, duh. Rui had known this ever since he saw a Martial Artist destroy a massive tree trunk with a single punch. But back then, it was all veiled in mystery, seeing exactly how they defied the laws of physics was shocking to him.
