You got it a bit backward. Earthquakes happen when and where two tectonic plates meet; as they grind/slip against each other, get stuck, build up pressure to a point that so great, they break loose. Depending on the intensity of it you will have small earthquakes range from below 2.5 richter, which can’t really be felt, to 2.5 - 6.0 richter - minor damage to infrastructure, to anything above 6.1 - serious damage and more. The problem I had with this paragraph is, the degree of tectonic plate shift, for the region to be pushed down so much that the temperature literally rise 60oC within just a couple hrs is so huge, that it can’t happen without major earthquakes and tsunamis during the very instant that happens. This is a very interesting novel, and I also read through some of your other works too. It is just that some of the number need some fine-tuning, that is all. Please keep up the good work.

Ok, I know this is fictional but for a tectonic plate to shift without earthquake is imposible, even more so given the time period in the novel. A lot of the numbers/ measuring unit in this novel is waaaaay too questionable. 😶😶😶
