It isnt like a majority of novels in the genre where it feels like the early story is rushed or skips from event to event without really developing the characters. So i guess what i meant by slow burn is that it isnt something that feels like the author was in a rush to fit in as much development as possible. Its the right balance between not being rushed while also not stagnating the plot

11 chapters in and so far it has been a very enjoyable read, i hope the book continues. Very appreciative of how there dont seem to be excessive info dumps early on and is more a slow burn.
