What can be more frustrating than reading 1700 chs just to have an open ending.
I too couldn't continue till the end...Too many things keep happening most of which make the plot clichΓ©d.
Isn't this completed already? Then why has not this been marked as completed yet?
Just wanted to know why this has not been marked as completed yet when the last chapter is titled the end.
only this mistake or is the translation itself bad?
This would have received a solid 4 or even 4,5 rating from me but the translation quality had to sink down to the depths of Pacific Ocean from around ch. 41, there is no capitalization, no punctuation, genders goes haywire, like I've read better MTLs than this! Totally destroyed what could have otherwise been a novel with good plot; yes, it is clichΓ©d, but I loved the execution which is mostly what matters in these novels with more or less the same plot structure.
I really really like the plot and the writing style, but after around ch 850 the translation gets so bad that reading the novel equals to heavily editing it in your mind... otherwise I would have given this a 4.5 rating!
Personally, I think changing the names from Chinese to Western just makes it sound weird, specially when the plot is in a Chinese setting. Maybe I'm just too used to reading Chinese names, but I'd prefer if the names remain Chinese.
There are so few books that have been translated from Chinese with childhood sweethearts, that too in a historical setting. So I hope this gets chosen, at least even if it has clichΓ©s, the flavour will be different.
