Imagine the first arc of warlock of the magus world, but with more cringe and instead of magic and alchemy, you get cultivation, pill-refining AND a op system cheat. Not only that, but a ton of unnecessary stuff that seems forcefully shoved down your throat. If you like complete rationality, You would first be pleased, then angered by why the heck did he join in on a mission outside when he isn’t even finished with qi condensation realm, Along with his contributions and high-profile towards the sect later on.
But isn’t he a little under prepared? Pretty sure foundation-building stage is the standardized cultivation realm to be considered a average cultivator.
I know that this is shadowing warlock of the magus world, and I don’t really blame you for it. Instead I question why you included the mission to go outside.(which basically doesn’t have any enormous benefit towards him at all.)
There isn’t anything more forced than making the reason of him joining this entire thing (“that he wanted to reject”, which basically made no sense at all) , being to get files on a controversial case that might endanger his life. (overly stupid) They’re basically making up a reason on the spot, a dumb one at that.
