I like your idea and was kinda thinking along those same lines as well for why Alduin acted like he does in this story. I am also a believer of the second theory you mentioned over the first one. It just makes more sense to me given what little I know of the lore.

I did consider doing it, but changed it back to the wolf since that's what the dragonborn in the game had, and she was a hunter.
She looked over the amulets before placing them into one of her pockets. Without another word, she summoned a large wolf familiar which she mounted before taking off out of the fort. Rictus watched her go with only a small part of him feeling bad. He had been tempted to join her on her world saving quest. Such a thing was the fantasy of many boys and girls growing up. The next idea was based on his mastered spells. Telekinesis was an obvious way of traveling. Deciding to give it a try, Rictus made sure he cast his ebony skin just to play it safe. Which was a good thing considering all the times he messed up. Moving himself initially was a breeze with the spell. The problems came with the continued focus the spell required. Rictus still had thoughts about how the spell was supposed to shoot whatever object he concentrated on since that is what happened in the game when he used it. Usually, it doesn't matter if that happens with objects. Shooting your body into a tree whenever you lost focus did matter. Good thing he made sure he had protection. - Pepey_LePew5dReplied to

The other application of the mana stone was much more martial. Magic staffs were becoming less rare among the Restored, both mages and warriors. The majority were normal magical staffs which had mana stones embedded on them. Many staffs while powerful, did not have many charges on them. Adding the mana stone gave a free easy refill on the staff. Before Alding could react to the words, Rictus's ax crashed down on the top of his head with the weight of a mountain despite being wielded one handed. Eh we all ramble sometimes so it's no big deal. The only thing I had considered upgrading was his overall physical fitness but wasn't sure. I didn't flesh it out as much as I should have but there was an additional small reasoning for this. I imagine a sudden growth or change physically would mess up your perception and coordination. If you were always used to reaching or moving a certain way and your arm grows longer, it could mess it up. It could be better short term to have a decent body you can control normally than a great body you can't perform in. Or I could have just been a lazy writer...
A 3D model of now appeared on the screen with information beside it. Rictus read the information of himself: male, half Breton half Nord, 22, brown hair, brown eyes, 6'2 (or 1.88m for the rest of the world), 235 lbs (106kg). The image showed a slightly above average looks with a strong jaw covered by a short beard and a medium build with a bit of a belly. The race of being half Breton and Nord was new. After selecting the race tab, all the normal ones appeared as well as combinations for most of the races. Not finding any information about the bonuses of each race or even a description, Rictus decides to just leave it alone. 'Thinking logically, it should hopefully just be a combination of the two so a little frost resistance and better magic is the hope. Besides, depending on how immersive the game is, being at least part Nord in Skyrim would be better than not being a Nord at all.' With that thought, Rictus just accepts his character exactly as it appears. 'Yes, I could have made myself more attractive or at least gotten rid of some of this fat, but I am confident in myself and want a more realistic experience. Yeah I understand that. If I would have planned it better, I would not have placed this chapter here since there are better places for it, or I would have just made it a bonus chapter. Thanks for reading this far at least. I like to think it gets better, but it's definitely not for everyone.
