why would he do such a thing. First of all, leaving early will prevent him from having the chance to win more ordeal points. And now that he is corrupted, he probably won't even think about leaving when there's still things to destroy. So there's no point in leaving. But most importantly, getting a fixed fraction of any enemy's Aether and Soul meant that he could now slaughter absolutely anything to raise his Aether stats. the oracle paths and chrysalis. I have just read till chapter 20 of supremacy games (and I'm already considering dropping it, ngl)... but i can tell you that both those novels are way, way better that what I have read of this novel. None of them are Chinese so don't worry about sexism, racism, propaganda or whatever
