Gregory lived in a world similar to his and died whilst crossing the street. Both of their memories had nothing to explain how they ended up merging though. That's right, merging. Tom isn't just Tom anymore. He may go by that name from now on, but he is a mixture of both Gregory and Tom. I guess that would make him a new person. I mean, the og demon kings academy had a plot. Basically, every isekai anime ever has some semblance of a plot. Tis possible, though you basically just end up with konosuba or eh villain that erases the MCs' memories and sends them to another galaxy far, far away.

Tbh, I dont feel like Gaunt should get the distinction of ancient, but I also have no clue what the criteria are for a house to be ancient, I always assumed the house had to be in the wizard council that predated the wizengamot to be considered ancient.
