First of all, thanks for the comment, I appreciate it. Now for your questions : MC does suspect Sarth. He even thinks the guy might be a cannibal or a pedo. It's just that he chooses to go with him since he is hungry and Sarth could have just killed him when he had his eyes closed before. MC could go back to the farm where Tom, stayed but nobody would recognize him since he looks completely different. Also, he really doesn't like having his memories conflict with each other, so he unconsciously avoids having anything to do with it.(I didn't write that but it's in the subtext.)
