I like the story progress, but slow down. much of the potential character development scenes have been skipped, like eve and lance exploring the mech drawing, or the full lunch scene, and especially the birthday dinner scene. all of these could have been fleshed out to get an idea of who the MC is and the people he wants to associate with.
