You can call everything cliche, when all the stories you read are copy and paste of one another. MC gets humiliated. MC turns dark and edgy. MC wants revenge. And as for the reason she's helping him, I can't see how that is cliche. Maybe if you talked to more people in real life and understood how the human mind works, you'd know that humiliation does not make everyone dark.

Why the woman helped him is literally explained. If you didn't read it, that's your own problem. And if you have read any books that didn't follow the same storyline of mc turning edgy because of humiliation, then you would know that 7 years of humiliation won't just turn everybody 'dark'. It depends on the MC's personality, surroundings, and other factors. How I see it? Your tastes are what's cliche here. And if you ask me - my MC's brain functions a lot better than yours, if you can't even read properly before leaving a senseless review. :)

All of that is coming. Alura's introduction early on felt forced and sudden, like she was just there as a waifu to keep readers reading. I want her to feel more like a genuine character, so I'm saving her until later on.
