He’s up to no good

To me it sounded like he rejected her because he didn’t want to betray Alex by bringing her into his world. He didn’t know that she was already part of his world because she’s a witch. I think he’s realizing he didn’t have to reject her as Alex and Elize have both been gifted with magic.

He rejected her and moved on before she even became of age.
