that's not the right approach though, you are basically a coward for doing so. Though I don't mean to judge anyone for their life choices, I just think you have to be straightforward with your feelings even if you end up dying without being able to protect who you love.

it doesn't strictly follow the original novel's plot, which is why Mikoto has leveled up on her own,instead of waiting for Bell's arrival. Such small differences may occur more than once, though I don't think there's any real need to mention it.
Logically speaking, Chigusa would have to carry Haru to the surface as she was the weakest of the three. However, Chigusa's embarrassed expression changed the whole party's mind, deciding that Ouka would carry Haru instead as Mikoto took care of the strongest monsters and Chigusa of the weakest ones. Besides, it was also useful to increase the parameters of the latter since she was still far from level 2, even though it had now been almost a year since Mikoto and Ouka had respectively leveled up.
