Monster Party

Haru didn't have a plan. To defeat numerous monsters, he could use his technique to disable them so that he could somehow survive this time as well. But it was different from the last time. Goblins and kobolds mixed in the monster party were at a different level. Haru was superior in speed compared to the Killer Ants, which is why he somehow managed to defeat them.

'The odds of not making it are way too high.'

Even if he found a way to approach the situation, there wasn't much he could do, and he was aware of it.

For the time being, Haru was merely observing. Thanks to his skill [Perseus' Descendant] he had some time to find a strategy. Strangely, Haru had managed to keep control over his emotions without any kind of panic. It seemed as if the fact the situation was so dangerous he could die no longer had that terrifying effect on him, which caused him to sigh. He wondered for a second what was happening to his body, but he knew he couldn't waste time thinking about trivial things, because his life was still at risk, whatever happened to him psychologically could wait.

'I could try to use all my speed, but unfortunately, the sword is single-edged'

That was the only flaw in his sword. If it had two edges, Haru could use the same method he had previously used with the Killer Ants. It wouldn't have lasted too long because of the stamina. But his goal was precisely to take with him as many goblins and kobolds as possible. After that, update his status and continue to gain some stamina from the increase in the parameters. Looping this method until the Monster Party was

decimated, but this would have been difficult not having enough speed in the kills.

However, Haru understood the only method left was trying to use what he had at his disposal. But after about a few seconds while he held his defence high as he analysed the monsters and the strategy to implement at the same time, He felt his parameters increase.

'...Right! I had a skill that would help me with the parameters in case of difficulty, but I never imagined so much... With this..'

Haru's eyes finally lighted up. He may not have a difference in parameters. However, he was surrounded by monsters who were stronger than him. As such, the power of the skill could shine freely. It made Haru able to overcome the monsters in speed and strength. With this new information, Haru had been able to analyse the goblin and kobold's combat style, and since there were so many monsters and his sword was quite sharp, Haru looked closely at the weaknesses of the monsters near him.

'It's time to pay back.'

Wiping the blood dripping from his cheek as one of the goblins had managed to inflict a small wound on him, Haru avoided thinking of anything else while with a much faster blow than the goblin could avoid, he cut in half the monster that had its weak spot on the abdomen.

As they saw their comrade slashed in half, the monsters did not hesitate to attack Haru. Unlike the Killer Ants, however, goblins and kobolds lacked the intelligence needed to block him. So he could run away at this time. But he didn't know how much these monsters who seemed so in the mood to kill him would chase him, and if on the way back he met several monsters to block even the road behind him, the situation would be impossible to handle.

---

After about half an hour, Haru had failed to kill many monsters. Although he had an advantage in speed and power, the speed with which he killed monsters was not enough. He could use his status update. However, if he used such a method, he would grow less and less precisely because the monster party grew weaker as a challenge based on his parameters, and for this reason, Haru had his hands tied on what to do. All he could do was keep swinging his sword.

The fatigue his body was going through was a limit that Haru could not bear. No matter how fast he was improving both in terms of parameters and his abilities, he was always in a situation where he had no chance of surviving. He did not know who to blame or why, he had been careful all the time, following the advice of Misha, Hestia, Ryn, Lum, Hephaestus, Syr, yet it was as if the Dungeon was denying all their words, for who knows what absurd reason.

One of the first times since he was reincarnated, Haru felt sheer anger. There was nothing to cover it up, and besides, nothing seemed to be able to calm him down. He could accept he had made a mistake regarding the Killer Ants, but this was no longer a mistake. The Dungeon was against him, looking for his death, and if Haru harboured neutral feelings towards the Dungeon, now could feel hatred pouring into his heart.

However, As if all these emotions were slowly becoming his strength, Haru felt his body trembling. It passed through his body resembling an electric shock. Instead of worrying though, Haru raised his sword, which had previously been lowered as it was too heavy for him to maintain.

At Haru's change of attitude, the monsters did not pay much attention to what was happening. Their goal remained to take Haru out. By the time they stepped in his range though, he was no longer in front of them. Before they could realize what was happening, Haru was behind the three closest monsters. His blood-stained sword stabbed them all at their weak points.

---

After an indefinite period, the figure of a boy could be seen in a room on the 8th floor. Blood soiled all his clothes, and even the whole floor as it was slowly disappearing.

After a few seconds, however, the figure could be seen clinging to the sword anchored to the ground. Haru's body, after he used such an unknown power, had been taken beyond the limit once again.

'...I don't remember.'

The boy felt so heavy he barely had the strength to stand still. He only remembered feeling hatred for the Dungeon mingling with his feelings of anger as Haru knew he wouldn't be able to keep all the promises he had made at that point, but all those feelings vanished along with part of his consciousness. The only thing he remembered was feeling his body hit by an electric shock.

He still felt the effects of that electric shock on his body, but even if that was the case, Haru had no time to think about it. From the blood evaporating in the room, he understood the Monster Party met its end because of him. The realization made him wear an expression of a pure shock for a few seconds. But since he had to go back to the surface to report all this to the Guild, Haru didn't waste time, asking the system to update his status, so that he could return to the surface.

Feeling part of his strength coming back a second time, Haru loosed a sigh of relief. But as soon as he read how much had 'changed', he felt a bit strange. It seemed his magic grew to from 0 to 100 in one go, yet he did not feel what was called 'mana' flowing in his body at all.

'.. Is it required to be of a race specialized in mana to feel it flowing in one's body?'

That's what he was wondering, but he knew this was the least of his problems. His parameters grew a lot. However, he was used to it by now. What surprised him was the general increase in rank of his skills. As he remembered, skills took a long time to rank up, yet his skills were increasing rapidly.

Still, curious about the way he managed to save himself from that situation, Haru decided to check his skills for any details that might have been added.

However, He was disappointed. There seemed to be no new information for him, which meant he would have to understand whatever happened to him without receiving the answer from the system. But the fact his magic parameter finally grew was something that made Haru content.

Once he reached the surface, Haru called the attention of a guard patrolling the area, but as soon as their eyes met, the guard could recognize him immediately.

'Oh..It's that guy--'

Glancing at him, the woman could see Haru covered in blood from tip to toe.

"W-What happened down there... Are you hurt...!?"

If the first time the guard had left him ignoring his interests precisely because he wasn't nor hurt nor seemed in need of any external help, this time Haru seemed to have entered a pool of blood, which had spared only his face and hands. His clothes were in a worn state, from claws and fangs, many parts of his body had shallow wounds but still scattered everywhere on his body, yet...

"... No, I went through a Monster Party, but luckily I escaped with my life. These wounds don't hurt at all compared to what could have happened in there."

Haru wanted to avoid mentioning he had succeeded in annihilating the Monster Party because if he had done so, this guard would surely have blabbed it to her superiors. And although Haru was not interested in who was aware of his 'power' if he could avoid having problems to solve in the future, he would have acted to fulfil that purpose.

Thinking about it for a moment, the guard nodded, but seeing him alone, her expression hardened.

"Where are the other members of your party?"

She didn't want to ask. In her mind, she already knew what the answer was because Haru came back alone, yet to report, the guard needed an adventurer in the party to confirm the deaths. Removing them from the guild and maybe find a place for them in the graveyard where all adventurers rest required such a cruel method to ask the survivors directly for the victims in the party.

"..I'm not in a party."

(Will there be flashbacks of the Monster Party? If they are useful to the story, then yes)
