Am sure Fujin brought this up in order to change fate once again. Having Suna as a "ally" is no longer viable since they will never truly ally themselves with Konoho since they still believe Orochimaru was working with Konoha. Puppetry isn't that good of a technique unless taken to the extreme like Sasori, but having Suna poison techniques could be good I guess??? In anycase, wiping out Suna wouldn't make that much of difference in the grand scheme. Fujin has a portion of Shikaku chakra, meaning that Akatsuki plan of hunting Jinchuriki will reach a bottleneck because of Fujin having the final piece. Maybe Fujin will is testing to see how Akatsuki will react when they learn that Gaara is held captive in Konoha, meaning they will have to fight Konoha for both Gaara and Naruto tailed beast. The author has a lot of options in how he can handle things moving on now, like with Sasuke not seeing a reason to go for Orochimaru since he sees that they're someone stronger in he's village.

W for the author for showign HOW the kazakage was beaten by orochimaru. The show didn't show it or was it some filler episode i missed.

Put kakashi or Itachi in their anbu days and the situation will write them as the winner

I swear unless an anbu is a named character, they WILL get dogwashed by anyone in the show. Kimimaro could barely scrap with a drunk rock lee and here he is killing 4 ANBU's
