is the show centered around midorima??? no so we not gonna see every instance of him playing and aomine being shut down in his first year at middle school nationals does corelate to midorima cause in first year he still had a regular three point shot that could be contested and blocked by a skilled defender that could pressure him just like how someone pressured aomine and this is before he grew further in height and developed his high point three. just because it isn't shown doesn't mean it never happened

??? that wouldn't be shown in the show as it's backstory but just like how aomine got shut down at nationals in middle school in his first year then dominated those ppl his second year it would be the same for midorima as he hasn't developed his high projectile three as yet so ppl are able to block him
