The writing on the first chapter was good until the modern thinking and the modern-like description at the end of the second chapter put me off.

I wouldn't say your writing was the sort of style that I liked but it was honestly well thought out so the interest of the plot can very much overwrite your style of writing. The story was interesting though some term of calling was no doubt a little odd such as Zila calling her sister-in-law literally sister-in-law. And from the synopsis, I find it odd that Kay, who was described as cold and ruthless have love Zila so dearly. I didn't read anything on how his character would have progress from cold to lovely to Zila. And if it's instantaneous, I as a reader can't relate. But overall, it's a good story.
