Sadly the authors account got hacked. it was a great story till then. another good one although it isn't a pet/summon novel is called "Rise of the Peerless Pumpkinmancer" by CLASSLESSASCENSION. the mc does get a pet fairly early on tho. the author is a bit slow to update at the moment due to irl stuff going on but all his novels are great. I think you already mentioned the only other direct reccomendation I can make for pet (adjacent) novels but if you want some really good cultivation novels then Suiyan has a couple good ones. "Death... and me" as well as "Is that a wisp?"

dude. you realize that Africa is a big place and some of the wealthiest people in the world are from there. African isn't a race. neither is European. even looking into the English language black luck is a thing. same for black thumb. depending on the quality of the translation the entire African thing could very well be just a poor translation. hell most modern Americans likely grew up hearing the "you should feel lucky to have (insert food they don't like) to eat. theres starving kids in Africa." line. so like I said. there are several ways to look at this before bringing it straight to racism.

honestly thinking about it it's probably a translation error. I believe that people with bad luck are sometimes reffered to as having black faces. like you see in anime when someone has really bad luck and their face goes all shadowed. also it's probably no more racist than most American mothers telling their kids they should think themselves lucky to eat their vegetables since kids in Africa are starving.

or it could simply be a statement on the relative living conditions between the 2 continents. most of what I have heard of Africa is that it's full of third world countries. meanwhile Europe is supposably one of the more well off areas of the world. therefore those born in Europe are lucky in comparison to those born in Africa. notice that the race is not used anywhere only the continent. of course it does sound racist but then again any coloquialism not involving your own nation or area will always sound like that in my experience. hell I'm from Texas and most everything I've heard even from my own people about Texas is pretty racist.
