I think the real goal was to win the tournament. Every competitor was there to win, but Xuefeng came out on top. I think this paragraph should be reworked.....with the water aspect you could reference mist, dew, rain, snow, ice etc. Earth could be rock, clay, sand, wood, plants etc.

Most of the elemental qi’s are fairly closely related....blood qi specialists should be very proficient with water qi. Spirit and Ether should have similarities. Metal and Earth. Lightning and Fire. Air and water maybe air and ether or spirit. Is there going to be Light and Dark qi? Perhaps in the Realms above Heaven? Nether and Chaos possibly? Life and Death? Cosmic qi perhaps.....

Earth can be said to be in the air as well. It’s called dust, sand, plant fibers (ie wood).

Is this pseudo necrophilia? He will pump her full of Yang qi. She will pour out Yin qi and he will breakthrough to the Sovereign spirit realm. He will take Lian Li with him as compensation, but the Empress will have to stay despite being hooked on Su Yang’s qi and pleasure giving skills. But, maybe she sneaks away, or the Emperor realizes he loves her enough to let her go with Su Yang for her longevity and her happiness, which he’s too prudish and over occupied by his little used harem to maintain his wife’s health and pleasure.
