Just an idea: Maybe add some special quests, materials or rituals that are needed for additional level ups. Like feeding it a unique necrotic ingredient so it's one level less beneath him.
(Eg. If creator is level 30, the helminth will be level 21.)

Another document was about Bloodsucker: the Mafia lord claimed to not have anything to do with him. In fact, he was scared and wondered if he wouldn't come after him, his power and wealth making him an attractive target.

To avoid wasting most of it, Ascenders would have to synchronize with their soul, ordering it to create a small auxiliary core that would orbit around the main one so fast it appeared to be a circle. Much like an electron does around an atom core—according to earthly classical physics.
