Left is their current lifespan, how much they've lived. Middle is their max lifespan. If nothing else changed, how long until they die of old age. Right is their potential lifespan. The number they can raise their max lifespan to. Right number is also their 'talent', because seeing their possible max lifespan determines their max high point.
Could be a mistranslation, or an idiom that didn't come out quite right. Personally, I prefer my floors to be made out of cieling.

They're not purifying. Either an extension of the Captain's will or an innate property of the ship. I get cliches can get annoying sometimes, but atleast I find your mocking distasteful. If you don't like it, why not stop reading or write your own story?
It's a property of the Lost Home, which is a ghost ship that's apparently pretty infamous. As it said, they became something like half-spirits under its influence, and they haven't even seen the captain yet.
To be fair, it's a highly acidic ambush predator with near perfect camouflage. It was also smart enough to play dead, and could shoot venom from up to three feet away.
