I like the story, but I’m still confused by the MC’s change in personality. I suppose you could say the life or death situation at the beginning brought about this change in character and personality. But to be honest I don’t really see it. He was a bumbling fool at first. I mean, the guy was hyperventilating over meeting the dean of the school. Now he is the physical embodiment of stoicism. It doesn’t make any sense. I’ll still be reading however as the plot is interesting.

Being in a battlefield doesn’t matter, have you not heard of a chain of command, the commander has a plan and those under him follow orders. The commander decides how and when to use a weapon or asset. Again, I ask, have you never been on a sports team, or even any organized setting where you have levels of authority?
