Sometimes I can't help but feel Victor overreacts sometimes. I get it, it's a dog eat dog world. But if the world were truly portrayed that way this story would be far more grim and depressing in my opinion. And since it's not I think Victor should learn leniency, because the life he leads and the world around him aren't set up to take everything he loves at the drop of a hat. The situations aren't portrayed as being that desperate or serious. Rather Victor always will have plot armor in the form of endless diligence, perseverance, self control, indomitable spirit, and evolution to carry him through.

The scale of activity is growing to cosmic levels now. In my experience if this is handled too quickly, or becomes too random, or spontaneous it ruins the flow of the story, making it hard to read. I'll put my trust in the author here though because he's done very well with the story so far.
