How stupid can she be to really turn off the mic when she knows he might be up to something?! Not to mention sparing his feelings and not answering truthfully to Shi Mo that what they've talked about.. she could've been brutally honest and take her enemy down a peg and save herself from speculation that would follow (not to mention that she could've refused the conversation with the excuse of being on the show and that it's unprofessional and unneeded to talk about private matters there)
Why would Lin Jin be obligated to share his knowledge and what are obviously superior techniques to a random person asking for it? These kinds of illogical things make me so frustrated I always end up dropping the books. I hope there won't be more of them for this book as I quite like it
Now they care who's she engaged with, but when she didn't want to be engaged to the other guy, nobody would listen, she had to fight for the right to cancel the engagement.. Besides, if they cared so much, they wouldn't have decided on her fiancée without her input.. I know that this kind of thing can be seen in many novels depending on the time they're set in, but on the personal level, I get soooo irritated (not a critique for the author, but my personal opinion and feelings) xD
I like this novel, but there's too much profanity. No matter the time, no educated person would ever speak as such. There are more polite ways to express some things, and I feel that those would be more appropriate when father speaks to his daughter (especially an educated man of a higher standing in society) as well as in more formal setting between people who do not actually know each other.
