Still, there were several things that he wanted to change about the place. Like, he wanted to get rid of all the portraits, he didnt know how he felt about unknown people watching him as he went by his day. He wanted to change the carpets of the place, as well change the wallpaper. Last but not least, he wanted to get rid of the family tree tapestry, which was creeping him out. Especially the part where it told him that Malfoy was his cousin.

it's a sun tzu saying and that is not what it means it means something along the line of keeping your friends close and your enemies closer. it does not mean that you forgive them, but you declare peace at the front then behind strategies a way to take them down while monitoring what they do. it's a classic military strategy.
