I understand that but 1 year is nothing much when you will face death now, furthermore I was not talking about the fire immunity or even him spending everything like no tomorrow. it more like tone down the drammatic overthinking when he pretty much is sure he will die soon if he won't take a perk and this still losing all his lifespan. this without even considering that for the reader (I am sure it isn't only me) who knows he will have children (it is pretty much a must of the story) it is irksome so much drama about that. too much of something is never good, including the drama to make clear that the mc won't e should not spend easily his lifespan.

I believe you should be less drammatic with the purchase...at the end of the day reaching 60 or 50 years of age would still give the mc decades to have children , so why do you add so much drama because mc have to reduce his lifespan by 1 year in a dire situtation where he would end up dead in a few minutes instead of decades, without spending his lifespan?it makes it seems like the mc is a naive, foolish child

This is why everyone hate when authors have the mc spare their enemy: the authors then have said enemy get back to Mc causing more troubles than it was worth to have the enemy survive for plot advancement
