The prophesy doesnt say anything about ice and fire, that comes from an agreement during the dance of dragons promising a Targareyan princess to the Starks, though it was never upheld. The prophesy comes from a witch who said the prince that was promised would come from the union of Aerys and Rhaella.
'What was I thinking? Why would I behave like that? Don't tell me that girl had such an effect on me. Am I losing my mind for her? But she was really beautiful, not to mention that she lived in the north, which meant ice. I don't know if she was the one that I had to marry to achieve the prophecy.' Thought Rhaegar as his mind was only thinking of Lyanna Stark. He could not take her out of his mind, not to mention the prophecy. He promised himself to search again when he returned to King's landing.
