First of all: Thanks so much for leaving a review! I'm glad you've been enjoying the story so far :D It seems you're a little bit earlier on in the story at this point, judging from your question. The answer to it is... quite complex. It's the dreaded: "It depends." Would he ever kill an innocent person for his selfish gain? Absolutely, but only under specific circumstances - those being that: 1) He judges it to be necessary (for example, to overcome a certain hurdle in a specific amount of time, he'd need to kill more, and there are only innocents available); 2) The losses he incurs from doing so are far less than what he gains (for example, he'll lose some of his reputation in exchange for an absolutely cracked Talent that he doesn't want to live without); 3) Etc. (There are too many scenarios that could potentially occur, but I think you get the point by now - he's very much open to the idea.) Arguably, some of the stuff he'd do (and actively is working towards) could be seen as even worse than taking the lives of innocents (although it's very much a matter of perspective here xD) - I'm specifically referring to the end of Chapter 68 and the beginning of Chapter 69, and his future plans for some of the Hans... Anyway, enough of my rambling. He most definitely is evil, although not comically so. To put it simply, I'd say that he is rather neutral, but leaning strongly to the side of evil.

... maybe I should go into a little bit more detail about just *how* horrible the Hans really are, as just leaving it primarily up to the imagination clearly isn't enough to get enough of the full picture across. But believe me when I say this: Any somewhat kind person in her position would feel duty-bound to eradicate them all from existence. They're made to be beyond comically evil - of course, there is a reason for it... which I shan't spoil. If being a 'Heavenly Dao-certified' Retainer did not make her unable to betray him, then you'd be correct - he'd have to watch his back. Anyway, excuse my rambling! Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you've been enjoying the story so far :D

The Heavenly Empress' Assassin

A man who faced lifelong rejection by the will of the world that he grew up in, and a genius with infinite potential who fell as a result of making a risky bet. Under the machinations of the deceased Heavenly Emperor, Huang Xian, two unfortunate souls originating from entirely different worlds got saved and fused together into a new whole, adopting the identity of the latter–Theodore Winter, the heir to one of the Supreme Pillars of the Heavenly Court. As an eon-spanning competition to decide the next generation of Heavenly Emperor and Heavenly Empress began, it brought with it a game of wits, power and plots that would shake the Heavenly Court to its core. Reincarnators, Transmigrators and Regressors were barely qualified to chase after the unprecedented monsters that had been brought into being for the express purpose of rising above the rest. Battles between peers were like peeling an onion–nobody ever knew just how many cultivation realms and Talents the others had hidden away to catch their opponents off guard. With a saint-like image and the heart of a devil, Theodore Winter entered the fray. Unbeknownst to all, besides returning triumphantly, he was entrusted with another task: To kill Huang Xian’s murderer–his wife, the Heavenly Empress! ------------------------- Read advance chapters (by paying for my meals) on Patreon: • https://www.patreon.com/sh1ro My novel series "Reincarnation Cycle's Unfortunate Bug" on Amazon: • https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CYHGRR8M/ Discord Server: • https://discord.gg/NdAjjmXSDh Cover created by: • https://www.instagram.com/llay_art/ ------------------------- Current Release Schedule: • 4 chapters per week • IDEALLY 1 chapter every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday (at ~11 p.m. GMT+1), but more realistically, they'll just appear whenever they're ready until everything's stable again. Wish Fulfillment System

After a long time, Isaac finally succeeded in transcending existence itself, something theoretically almost impossible. Or… he should have succeeded, had he really cut off all of his attachments and feelings, not just the ones connected to the world that he had lived in. In his ignorance, he hadn’t taken his attachments to worlds that he had deemed imaginary into account. Having been reminded of this fact, he found himself on the threshold to full transcendence. He had two choices: Either giving up these attachments as well to reach the goal that he had chased after for so long, or postponing doing so until later and using the byproduct of his attempt at transcendence - having turned into an omnipotent being beyond existence - to go on a journey in the infinite number of worlds waiting for him. To fulfill his last wishes and to meet the people that he had thought fictional before, Isaac used his newfound power on a single, tailor-made creation. The Wish Fulfillment System. This is a story about a number of lonely people trying to overcome their loneliness by sticking together, as well as the fates of the people connected to the system that Isaac created. --------------- My novel series "Reincarnation Cycle's Unfortunate Bug" on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CYHGRR8M/ Discord Server: https://discord.gg/NdAjjmXSDh Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/sh1ro --------------- Hi there, Shiro/the author here. This story is one that I decided to write for personal enjoyment and so that I could share it with a few friends. I decided to start uploading it here so that a few of you can potentially get some enjoyment out of it as well. If you have any constructive criticism or notice a mistake, feel free to let me know, I truly appreciate any chance I can get to improve my writing. Now, if you don't end up enjoying the story, sorry about that. No story is for everyone. And considering that this one was primarily written purely for my own enjoyment, I don't know how many others will have the same taste that I do. Yes, during its early stages, this story will incorporate some worlds and characters which are at first glance similar to ones that you're already familiar with. I mean no disrespect to the authors of those original works, I was simply intrigued by their creations and decided to borrow them for parts of the story. - Current Release Schedule: 1 chapter every two weeks on Sunday, between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. GMT+1 (More chapters can appear as bonus chapters, so this is the absolute minimum.) - Chapter length: At least 3.5k words per chapter - the average is at ~3.97k at the moment. (Yes, you're in for significantly longer reads than usual.) --------------- In case you want to support my writing endeavours or read more of what I've already written, I'd be very grateful if you checked out either of these: 1) My novel series "Reincarnation Cycle's Unfortunate Bug" on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CYHGRR8M/ 2) My Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/sh1ro Cover created by: https://twitter.com/amekojam
