It's better to selectively read with consent on people he doesn't know. Instead of invading their mind fully. if people come to know, then he won't like the consequence. Though this is a marvel world, So some drastic measures are expected
Great that's one mind rapist confirmed who has no respect for mental boundaries. He's also a bit of a control freak even if he doesn't realize it, which paired with his powers isn't good.
