"Time to wake up, we got a city to burn."
Thanks for the chapter. Damn, Marcellus put up a good fight regardless of the results.
This sounds so wrong
Thanks for the chapter.
Thanks for the chapter. There is just something amusing about reading a chapter that involves a dark ritual of sacrificing an underage kid to the devil and then reading the creator's thoughts that casually write about the weather and their excuse for gaining weight.
I don't hate her but it's not like I fully forgot what she did. From what I understand in most abusive relationships, it's theoretically really easy to get yourself out of the situation, however things are not that easy in life, I remember all those times where I could have done what was right or necessary but doing the opposite myself. I'm no expert in human psychology or matters regarding abuse but basically, people in such situations get beaten spiritually too, to the point where they feel completely powerless, fear can really cripple people. It doesn't help that they don't get any support. Eileen didn't really have anyone close to her, she had to hold back from using magic which was stressful no doubt and somewhere deep inside she still loved her husband regardless of what she went through, yet all it took for her to seek help was a tiny push from her daughter, people are pretty damn unstable all things considered, especially if you are being abused and well, it sounds illogical I know but the human race is pretty damn good at that. However I'm not making excuses for her, in the end this mess is pretty much her fault, getting married to a man who doesn't know about magic even though he should know that his children might start floating, keeping the status quo etc. She's a coward, no doubt but well she knows that she was in the wrong and feels terrible about it and she's actually trying to make amends even if it's fruitless, she never once made up excuses about her being the victim or doing "everything she could" like other people. We all make mistakes but in my eyes at least, a person who understands the consequences of their actions and genuinely reflects on them is far better than someone who acts like nothing is their fault or even feel that they are in the right even though they clearly aren't. That's why I don't hate her. Because she's so human and well written, she's not good or evil. Just a human being who screwed up.
Thanks for the chapter. True, I've never really hated Eilee, in fact it's with these types of characters where I mostly expect some form of character progression or redemption and I love it when it's done well like this.
Thanks for the chapter. Hoo boy, things are going to get messy and AW-kward
Thanks for the chapter.
