Osmentane

Very interesting ideas are constantly put into this novel but eventually it falls on its face. I liked it until Camilla got pregnant and then my main gripes happened. The “gods” of this world who were supposed and were shown to be not only all powerful but also wise and above them just become doting family members, which to me trivializes any conflict after it. Even if they don’t interfere they are always hanging there in the background or coming around, then it felt like all they could do was draw out a bunch of drama way longer than it needed to. These people are acting like they are teenagers when they should be adults. Feels like someone who never really had a full experience in life as a functioning member of society just wrote what he would think deep adult characters are like. Does appeal to the main kind of reader and really enjoyed this novel when I was younger. But now he’s had too much time as this flawed character or flawed person not to get over himself and his trauma. Same thing with other characters, and sadly the world does in fact revolve around them, so their teenage fantasies make sense.

Yeah it very good, MC is just constantly being glazed by author so much it overshadows the story.

Was great but then they did the classic of putting MC in situations so ludicrous that it’s physically impossible to win, and let him be played like 6 times in a row, and then after he just accepts being a literal toy, it’s just dumb soon as he lost his girl he became a helpless Mary Sue, horrible development but idk author didn’t know how to make a character lose at anything other then against literal gods, infallible whole series then gods come in and he’s now a buttslave for them, bro can’t get a win, and if he does it’s gonna be cuz he’s a buttslave for a stronger being.
