I agree with basically all the points you said. It's not the fact that what the MC and characters isn't possible in the novel's world, but that it's not planned or hinted (forshadowed) at. Fantasy/scifi books require a suspense of disbelief and a way to help readers do that is to provide details that maintain the inherent logic of the world in the book. You can't have the majority of the people act a certain way (basically everyone not the MC in this case) and have a select few be superhuman without it being jarring. If there is a reason, there needs to be some hint as to why to maintain the world's logic, even if it's a throwaway line by the MC noting how he's surprised he did it, or how he's feeling abnormally strong, etc. No one is going to wait 50 chapters to finally explain what's going on when the unexplained thing is what's turning them away in the first place. That being said, I'm actually interested in reading the book cause of all the good reviews and actually tried like twice but can't get past the first 50 chapters :c
