If YOU want to make that the character don't die, YOU can rewrite, but it should be because YOU want. I liked the choice that you made, of Ingenium dead, it will be good for the plot.

I'm liking the story so far, the only thing that I did not liked was that you changed his name to Lucas, that is a fake name and Lucifer does not lie.

I think that in the Domain Expansion, Higuruma has to explain all the details about the "trial", and the person that was used the Domain Expansion has the right to defend himself before Higuruma start acting as the attacker and his Shikigami can tell what is the result of the trial. In this novel, it looks like Higuruma is declaring the culprit guilty without the trial.
