I think its because the only way for him to win against Kane is to perfectly use Void, literally becoming his Antithesis and denying every move he makes

I agree, it is confusing, the explanation of how "let us stop here" is a lie is probably literal, he is walking away.

He already has a nascent Martial Mind from his apprentice breakthrough and a second symbiote mind, I doubt he is that far behind the most basic Minds. Besides, you could say his Void that shatters Paths is his martial embodiment that Martial Masters possess.

I think Rui literally always bailing them out of every dangerous situation has really gnawed at Kane's sense of danger, besides in the Shionel Dungeon, the only other place where they were a duo against beasts, they would usually have no issues slaughtering the whole floor.
