I still doubt he can beat an Arrancar, Yamamoto's strength is from his immense training and perfecting the basics to the limit together with his sword. Beating him when he was younger doesn't mean beating his strongest form. i do recognize Barragan's unique ability and potential but all we saw was him doing nothing and than getting beaten. he was self proclaimed king and literally did nothing although he has immense potential we didn't see him train or try so i doubt he'll beat someone that has potential and trains hard especially when that someone surpassed him in evolution. than again our MC doesn't seems to be using any of his arrancar unique features he's still fighting like a hollow instead of an arrancar.

he can use swords though something bigger than a sword will fit better and he can implement the techniques with his claws as they can function the same.

That's probably because u heard something about the "No kill rule" which doesn't exist. while not focused there were deaths in the world of fairy tail anime just made it less obvious. as for bounties it depends on the crime he's a criminal and has massacred a lot he's under the death or alive category.
