So this story starts out like a typical system cultivated story. Then at a certain point the MC pops a squat in a cave and literally almost never leaves after that. To be honest this aspect of the story is what kept me going til completion. It was new I’d never seen a xianxia author take an antithetical approach to the genre. Not to mention the story is fairly humorous even if it does get dry and repetitive. Also because of the MC complete unwillingness to interact with the world. The side characters of the story are a bit more fleshed out than they normally would be in these kinds of stories. Lastly the few times he DOES leave his cave to deal with his enemies. Can be quite fun and cathartic particularly one event early on and one in the later on especially. The beginning of the story is undoubtedly the best. However there are great moments in throughout the story. (spoilers ahead) Unfortunately this is where my praise stops. Don't get me wrong I still like the story however it has GLARING issues. The author may have been excited in the beginning. I say MAY because the beginning of this story is legitimately one the best starts I’ve ever read in a cultivation story. However that passion died FAST. It basically died the minute the immortal world got introduced. Seemingly important side characters get thrown to the side. Because of the constant never ending introduction of new characters in literally EVERY chapter. Also, even though cultivation story’s never really give you a map of the world. I seriously don’t think I’ve ever encountered worse world building. “They were in the mortal world it’s vast seemingly endless” “They were in the heavenly dao immortal world it was vast seemingly endless” “they were in the chaos it was vast literally endless” “They were in the blank domain it was vast even more endless” That’s basically as descriptive as if gets. The word count padding is also hilariously obvious. Eventually the MC starts creating these things called fiendcelestials. There’s 3000 of them and the author named 1000 of through out the story in batches. I’m talking (insert name) fiendcelestial copy pasted literally 50 times. Now for the 2 things that p*ssed me off the most. 1: The author repeatedly shows chekov’s gun and then says “f*ck you just look at it I’m never firing it”. Entire plotpoints hinted at or directly stated in a chapter. That the author literally NEVER addresses again. Or worse repeatedly hints but literally never goes anywhere. 2: the last almost 200 chapters are asinine. The author sets up what could EASILY be the climax and end/near end of the story 200 chapters earlier. But continues to drag it further hinting at more sh*t that will never matter or ever be resolved because it ends fairly abruptly. Not that I wanted it to continue to be fair.
Really? I’ve never heard of this body tempering please enlighten me wise master🙇
“That would be the very opposite “heavy taxation”” Now I’m curious If your government suddenly taxes you 3 times what they normally tax what would you call that? Also my numbers were completely made we literally can only imagine how much was taken.
Yeah clearly I meant only china is East as Buddhism only ever existed in china the Buddha being an Indian prince is all western proganda. Does Eastern Europe only mean Russia to you? Does East Africa only mean Ethiopia to you? Does North America only mean Canada to you? Being Athiest ≠ “hates religion” the title literally only means you do not believe that god/gods exist. It’s like saying the Hindus hate buddism because they do not believe the buddist are right.
Because effectively Buddhism is to the east what Christianity is to the west. A massively popular religion that is easy for writers and authors to poke fun at highlight the hypocrisies they notice. You’re looking for a deeper meaning when it’s only skin deep. Plus there’s a lot of history and context that you’re missing as well.
Bruh this like ADD vs ADHD all over again. In Marvel and in DC there really isn’t a differentiation like what you’re suggesting it’s under the umbrella of reality warping. All the cosmic beings(which to reiterate includes many eldritch gods) don’t exist in their own secret realms because someone else created it. Lastly, as far a I can remember lovecraft never made a multiverse so as far as we know Lovecrafts monsters can only effect one universe. Where as there are several beings that can effect the near infinite multiverse in both comics exist.
If we’re gonna take this that seriously we have no idea what a normal tax year looks like in this county. If every household has 100 pieces of gold and usually only 1 piece of gold is taken per year. Then taking 30 pieces of gold would constitute 30 years worth of taxation.
Naw when he planted it, it explicitly says that he planted it right outside his cave.
What? He never said anything bad about the buddhist Religion he only said that Buddhist are often antagonist in eastern fanstasy settings. Which is an immutable fact, I’ve never read a Xianxia story where the buddhist weren’t at least an annoyance to the main character. This also isn’t the first thing he’s gotten that had Buddhist ties so you clearly were just skimming along.
Prometheus… if he had the status of Chronos/Zeus
Yan Luo?
Bro really say “it’s got body tempering so it’s definitely ripping senior brother”
He’s already used Guan Yu’s name(assuming that’s him)
A Sword cultivator with sword in his name… what a good name!!!!
He’s being cheeky with the irony again
