Chapter 1A Snowy Day

Frost fell from the sky, and the snow actually arrived one step ahead of time.

The feather-like snow scattered in the sky, like dandelions that were blown down, dancing beautifully in the waltz.

Wen Jiuyin was holding a cup of hot coffee. She was wearing a light winter coat and was sitting in the cafe. She looked out the window and took a sip.

The cafe was filled with melodious singing, and the ethereal voice was unique and beautiful.

At this moment, there were very few people outside the window.

"Ding dong ~" Someone came in.

Wen Jiuyin looked over.

It was a boy in a black coat.

He was tall and thin, with an outstanding appearance. His facial features were exquisite, but his slightly drooping eyes seemed a little cold.

Wen Jiuyin was the owner of this café. The shop assistant happened to be on leave today, so the owner personally made the coffee today.

The boy looked around the cafe and turned his gaze to the girl.

"Hello, what kind of coffee do you need?" Wen Jiuyin asked.

As Wen Jiuyin was not wearing her uniform, the boy thought that she was not an employee who served customers.

"Excuse me, can I borrow your phone to make a call?" The boy asked shyly.

Wen Jiuyin was a little surprised.

This boy looked cold, but his tone was actually a little gentle.

Wen Jiuyin nodded and passed him the landline.

The boy looked at her gratefully and thanked her.

As the landline was fixed, the guy had to make the call in front of Wen Jiuyin.

The boy quickly dialed the number and waited for a moment before the call went through.

"I'm Yu Xuehuang. Come to the Time Cafe. My phone was stolen…"

He quickly hung up.

He politely said to Wen Jiuyin,"Hello, my name is Yu Xuehuang. I'm a third-year student. My phone was stolen just now. Can I stay here and wait for my friend to come?"

Wen Jiuyin saw that such a handsome boy was actually so polite. She could not help but say gently,"Feel free to sit. Do you need coffee?" I can buy you a drink."

Yu Xuehuang shook his head. He looked a little embarrassed."No need. Thank you, Boss."

Wen Jiuyin smiled."You don't have to call me boss. Just call me Wen Jiuyin. I just graduated."

"Are you a part-timer?" Yu Xuehuang was a little surprised.

"I'm the boss. This shop is mine," Wen Jiuyin shook her head.

……

After ending the conversation, Yu Xuehuang found a seat and sat down.

Snowflakes were flying outside the window, and the snow was getting heavier.

The snow that was initially as thick as goose feathers had now covered the ground in a thick layer. The houses and branches were already covered in silver.

The city had already entered winter.

The air conditioner was turned on in the cafe, but it was still a little cold.

Wen Jiuyin pinched the remote control and raised the temperature of the air conditioner.

This year's winter seemed to be exceptionally cold.

Perhaps because of the weather, many people chose not to go out.

Yu Xuehuang was the only person in the shop.

Wen Jiuyin sighed in her heart.

Today's work was so easy.

……

"I'll treat you to a drink. You don't have to pay." Wen Jiuyin brought a cup of steaming hot coffee to the boy.

The boy was flattered.

"Thank you."

Which university are you from?"

"Tea City University."

"Me too."

"What a coincidence."

"What's your major?"

"Computer, what about you?"

"Music."

At this moment, the background music in the cafe seemed to have reached its climax.

The ethereal voice hummed a light tune, and a gentle and lonely feeling assaulted his senses. It was as if he was in the depths of the darkness of the universe, alone for billions of years.

The boy found the voice familiar. He looked at the girl in surprise."You sang this song?"

The girl nodded indifferently.

"It sounds good." Yu Xuehuang praised.

"Thank you."

……

After a moment of silence, the boy suddenly said,"You're very beautiful."

"You're very handsome too," Wen Jiuyin replied, her eyes slightly curved.

The two of them looked at each other for a moment, and the boy's earlobes quickly turned red.

"Can I have your contact information?" The boy asked softly with a slightly red face.

Wen Jiuyin nodded.

The boy took out a piece of paper and a pen from his pocket.

"Can you write here?" she asked shyly.

Wen Jiuyin took the pen washi.

The pen seemed to have been held for a long time, and some residual heat was still on it.

Her delicate handwriting was neatly written on the paper.

The boy looked at it carefully, then folded it neatly and put it in his coat.

Time slowly passed. Yu Xuehuang was a little anxious as her male friends kept coming.

He looked at Wen Jiuyin and once again requested to make a phone call.

Wen Jiuyin took out her phone, opened the dialing interface, and handed it to him.

"You can use this to make the call. The landline sometimes has a bad signal."

The boy looked at her and thanked her softly. Then, he took the phone and made a call.

During this time, the boy's snow-white and slender neck had already turned slightly red.

Wen Jiuyin found it funny. She picked up a cup of slightly cold coffee to cover the corner of her mouth and took a sip.

This time, the phone rang after a long time.

"Lin Liliang, where are you?"

“…”

"I understand."

Yu Xuehuang hung up.

"There was a car accident outside," he said seriously as he returned the phone to Wen Jiuyin.

Wen Jiuyin's eyes widened in shock.

"Is it serious?"

"My friend is in a traffic jam now. The traffic police are already guiding him."

"Is he far from here?"

"It's okay. If there's no traffic jam, we'll arrive in half an hour. If there's a traffic jam, I don't know when we'll arrive."

Wen Jiuyin looked at the time. It was already five in the afternoon.

"You don't have a phone now. Do you have an ID card?"

"My wallet was stolen, and my ID card is missing," the boy shook his head and whispered.

Wen Jiuyin was speechless.

In this era, electronic technology was developing very quickly. People almost all used their phones to conduct transactions. Without a phone, it was difficult to move an inch.

She looked at the heavy snow outside the window and turned back to look at Yu Xuehuang.

"I'll take you to dinner. I'll send you back to school later."

"That's too troublesome for you." Yu Xuehuang shook her head.

Wen Jiuyin turned around and scanned the shop. She then looked at Yu Xuehuang and said,"It's fine. There's no one in the shop. I'll get off work early today." Besides, we're all schoolmates. It's normal for us to help each other. Besides, do you have a better idea now?"

Yu Xuehuang was stunned by this series of words.

He still agreed.

Wen Jiuyin brought Yu Xuehuang to Huachao Restaurant for a meal.

Hua Chao Restaurant was a small restaurant. The environment here was very quiet and there were very few people.

"I often eat at this restaurant. The lady boss's cooking skills are very good."

Wen Jiuyin said to Yu Xuehuang.

Yu Xuehuang looked around and nodded.

The environment was fine. It was not noisy, messy, or dirty.

The dishes were served very quickly.

Wen Jiuyin ordered three dishes and a soup, which was just enough for two people.

The soup was Crucian carp soup. The thick white soup tasted very fresh.

Yu Xuehuang couldn't help but eat a big bowl of rice with this soup.

"Isn't it delicious?" Wen Jiuyin's lips curved into a smile.

Yu Xuehuang looked at her appetite and blushed slightly. She nodded and said with certainty,"It's really delicious."

After a meal, Wen Jiuyin drove Yu Xuehuang back to school.

The car drove forward, and the lights were reflected on the window. Yu Xuehuang sat in the front passenger seat and looked ahead, but she also noticed her from the corner of her eyes. He paid attention to her long black hair, her clean side profile, and her every move.

His earlobes were red as if they were dripping blood.

"What's wrong?" The girl turned to Yu Shihuang and asked softly.

"What do you mean?" Yu Xuehuang asked carefully."Do you open a shop by yourself and drive to and from work by yourself?"

"That's right." Wen Jiuyin nodded naturally.

"Do you have a boyfriend now?"

"No, I don't. Do you want to be one?" Wen Jiuyin replied casually.

This sentence made the boy's heart beat violently.

His face turned completely red.

After a moment of silence, a firm voice said,"Yes!"

They were given modern, state-of-the-art laboratories complete with equipment and isolation rooms. Here, mutants were studied and monitored in exchange for a large sum of money and government assistance. But upon meeting Lia, he started accepting himself. Lia was always pointing out his strong points. She was always encouraging him to enhance his skills and discover his talents. She always tells him not to think of himself as a test subject just like how the scientists treat him. She reassured him that even though he's a mutant, he's not less than a person, so he shouldn't look down on himself. It was her uplifting words and her mere existence that gave color to his monochrome life. "Lia… I love you," Aesop uttered as his golden eyes stared through her deep blue eyes. "Ae, I… I love you, too," Lia then wrapped her arms around Aesop's neck, drawing in close to him. Aesop's hands slid down to Lia's lower back, and he embraced her. Their heartbeats quicken as their lips graze against each other. Lia thought it would be just a simple kiss, just like they had always done after their very first kiss, but she was wrong. Aesop's right hand suddenly caressed her back, then he placed it at the back of her head, pulling her to him with a little force. The vulture mutant's majestic wings enveloped them, and it was as if he was owning her. Aesop's wet tongue slid into her mouth, and it surprised her. She tried to resist, but with his hand at the back of her head, she couldn't get away from him. Eventually, she gave in to that passionate kiss...
