In the early light of dawn as Dark Ember was just about to leave the popular MMO "Dragons Crown" he received a message from a player named Time Breaker. The message read "Dark Ember I have a plan for you all I need is for you to accept the challenge". Dark Ember looked at the message for a moment and thought about what idiot would message something so stupid to him, he then replied with "Sure I'll accept this so called challenge", typing it jokingly. Suddenly he passed out in his gaming cabin before he even knew what was happening.

The next morning John woke up in his bed and he remembered the night before. he jumped out of bed to login to Dragons Crown but noticed his cabin was gone so was everything that he kept in his special room for his complete setup. He then looked around and noticed where he was, he was in his house form when he was only 16 and Dragons Crown was just being released in 4 days. He started to panicking and asked "What the hell is going on why am I in my old room," he then looked into his mirror and almost fainted from shock he then said "Why do I look like I did when I was 16."

Realization suddenly hit him as he remembered the mysterious message from the player named Time Wanderer and his special plan and challenge that he had messaged him. John suddenly turned a deathly pale as he realized he had been sent back 14 years in his life. He then smiled realizing his journey to becoming the most amazing Dragons Crown player had just begun. Like many other games Dragons crown was a popular MMO RPG that had guilds and all the things a regular MMO would have; however, the currency in the game could be traded in the virtual market for credits which had become the whole worlds currency. Dragons Crown was an MMO that stood above all the rest in terms of difficulty in leveling and was also the most unique full dive game to come out in the last 3 decades it was truly a world changing game. 

John realized he already had 11 years of experience into the game and that, even though he started late in the game before, he had an 11 year advantage on everyone else. This was his chance to make it big and to truly become a god among players. He knew that he was going to change the world that he knew so well that it was like looking at the back of his hand. He also knew that he could conquer Dragons Crown and become the first player to ever reach the status of Dragon King. Even in all 14 years of  Dragons Crown being released not a single person had even come close to becoming the Dragon King. The story line and quest that you had to follow were almost endless and even if you did reach the point where you could become the Dragon King it was near impossible to beat the NPC. Being able to become the Dragon King required you to kill the NPC that was the current King. Not only was he already incredibly powerful but he technically was a cheat in the actual game system. The NPC was technically an A.I. that almost never used the same attack twice and was above the highest tier you could become at tier 11. It also had unbelievably strong A.O.E attacks that could decimate armies in a blink of on eye. Not only were its A.O.E attacks unbelievable but its regular skills could still kill multiple people if they weren't careful.Tier 10 players where almost never seen in his old life and the ones that where known numbered only a measly 4 and they where called the Godly 4. They where no ordinary players and even with 10 or even 20 tier 9 players taking down even one of the Godly 4 was almost impossible. Their actual names in the game where the Priest Light Bringer, the Necromancer Death Walker, the Berserker Dragons Wrath, and the greatest of the 4 the Swordsman Angels fire who was capable of taking on all three of the other Godly 4 at once. John then thought "this time it will be the godly 5," then rushed downstairs and grabbed all of the money he remembered he had to go buy a full dive helmet for 5,000 credits.

As he was heading out he remembered that since he had been reincarnated as a younger self his mother was alive. In his original life she had died in a freak airplane accident that killed everyone on the plane over the Caribbean. His eyes started tearing up as he realized he could see her again and ran back into the house calling for his mother. When he found her he gave her a hug full of emotion, he looked into her eyes and said,"I love you mom." He started back on his original plans and started heading to the game store to buy his helmet. He got there and decided he would buy the more advanced full dive equipment. As he was purchasing his Advanced full dive gear he had started to fill anxious. He knew he could already be considered a top tier expert from the game he remembered, but he couldn't shake the feeling that he wasn't good enough to take on this challenge. Even though he was feeling anxious and was doubting his own capabilities, he was brimming with anticipation and joy. The next three days of his new life passed by in the blink of an eye as he was waiting for Dragons Crown to be officially released. Finally Dragons Crown was released on December, 11 2027, and this day would later be known as the biggest change in human life to ever happen in human history. As soon as John awoke from his deep sleep he jumped up to eat and then laid back in bed to start his life in the full dive virtual world again. When he put on his helmet and started up the game he got a notification saying,"please choose class from given choices," he read it smiling uncontrollably and chose swordsman. He then received another notification saying,"Class chose now logging into Dragons Crown please stand by," as he was teleported into the game he got a final notification that asked,"Please chose form given Kingdoms and Empires as to which city you would like to start your journey in. He instantly chose to go to a city in the Star Fallen Kingdom named "The Dark Moon City." He choose to start here as this was where he had started in his previous life and he knew a lot about the surrounding areas and the secret treasures that they held. 

As he was only just starting out he didn't have anything interesting actually as he was wearing all common armor. The armor in Dragons Crown was divided into 9 groups ranging from worst to best they where common, uncommon, bronze, silver, silver-gold, gold, abyss gold, epic, and then legendary. He also started off with 100 bronze coins and there where 4 different types of coins that where available in the game. It started out as Bronze, then it went to Silver which was 1000 Bronze pieces, then it went to Gold which was 2000 Silver pieces, and finally there was Mythril which was worth 10000 gold pieces and where seen every know and than mainly in super guilds and other top notch guilds that where financially supported. This meant that 1 Mythril piece was worth 200,000 silver pieces or 200,000,000 copper pieces which could buy you almost anything in the second world. As he was looking over his inventory he smiled and said,"I'm back and this time the crown will be mine." As Dark Flame finished he blasted off towards a level 5-10 zone called "The Wondering Woods," filled with Water Sprites, slimes, and silver crocks that where the main monsters that where here. There where also elites that where mixed in as well as epic ranked monsters that would respawn every 4 to 5 hours. In the inner most part of "The Wondering Woods" was a lord ranked monster named "The Masked Viper."

Hands down the best MMO story I've ever read. What makes The King's Avatar stand out are:

1) the level of realism - this isn't a vague fantasy genre meshed into the form of an MMO, these are real people playing a game, and the blend of RL and game life, the player interactions, World Chat, etc. really bring out the flavor of watching an MMO.

2) The insane level of detail - this author is amazing. Either the author himself used to be a pro gamer or he has top tier researching skills, but as a casual MMO player I recognize that even imagining these situations goes way above my grade. Recognizing an actual skill gap between myself and the MC - and not just "the MC picked up some magic stuff and became amazing through vaguely described training" - stirs up a ton of admiration not only for the characters but for the author as well.

3) The amazing, lively characters. All of them have enormous personalities. There are a ton of side characters that are hilarious or awesome and that I want to see more of because I know they'll be fun to read about. This is the opposite of most LNs who have disposable, flat, just-there-to-be-puppet side characters, or LNs who have side characters with tons of potential but are never developed (CD, I love ya but you toss out amazing side characters like tissues...) My favorite part of having all these great characters is the banter and the trash talk, especially in the later chapters when the big fish come out. Even the annoying characters have their charm...

4) Finally, it has to be said that the MC himself is pretty great. He's definitely more mature and interesting than most protagonists I've read about. It's a bit hard to describe him, but the way he deals with Sleeping Moon in the early chapters is one of the greatest marks of his personality. If the character were more immature he'd be focused on getting revenge and "saving face"; if the character were colder he'd just ignore everything and go solo lone wolf. But Ye Xiu? He's self-assured, but not arrogant - forgiving because he's there's no point in getting riled - but canny enough to calmly wring out advantages for himself even in seemingly bad situations. The main point is that things don't just fall in Ye Xiu's lap, he works for it and makes things happen the way he wants through experience, knowledge, or just plain old haggling. Of course, the universe doesn't revolve around his decisions, so it's always fun to read about how he has to tunnel his way through the ever-growing mess he's accidentally created for himself.
If you enjoy the concept of MMOs, gaming, and/or esports, I definitely recommend this!

CRITICAL REVIEW :

The main thing that made me stop reading this is the lack of knowledge of the author in terms of gaming, which resulted in unrealistic and extremely shallow game mechanics and/or events.
For 3 slightly more detailed reason why:
First off, this was supposed to be a depiction of the highest of level of gameplay from a pro-gamer, but I didn't see any semblance of it. Most stuff shown here were mainly unrealistic, and then common to slightly uncommon strategies, techniques, and game-mechanics. The author's portrayal of the MC feels like it's coming from a "fan" point of view, not from an actual high level narration/analyst/player. For instance, let's say you ask a boxing fan and a boxing analyst about a certain boxer about what makes him good. Most fans will answer you with "he's so good because he's fast, he's super strong, and muscular", because of the lack in technical knowledge, in comparison to the analyst who will show you stats, mathmatical stueff, physiological stuff, psychological stuff, and so on. This is what it is like to me when I read this novel, it feels like it was written by a "fan-knowledge" level person, which leads me to my next point, the authors lack of knowledge.
The author doesn't seem to know how things work, and generally how games work. One thing I can think on the top of my head is the APM. The MC has unrealistically high APM (3 digits, can't remember exactly), which is only obtainable from either hacking the game, or extremely unrealistic super human level of animation canceling (provided that the game can even perform such mechanics, because you know the author didn't mention it). I don't even know why the author mentioned APM in a first / third person almost shooter type of game in the first place. These sort of stuff breaks the immersion for me. I always notice these small flaws, which makes me skip chapters just to check if the author address them, but ultimately left disappointed because of the lack of explanation, not even a mention about these certain mechanics.
Lastly, too much grinding. People keep saying that MMORPGs are supposed to be grindy, but the thing is, we are not playing a game, we are reading a novel. Sure, you can grind all you want in a game, and it can give you satisfaction once you achieve desired level, or gained your desired item. But when reading a novel, all the stuff about grinding gives no satisfaction at all. All the million chapters spent on grinding could have been spent on world building, character development, plot twists, and so on. But no, half or a little bit more than half of the novel used for grinding. You must be really bored if you really enjoy reading all of them.

It would at very best make you 20% stronger than common player base in case you could find someone to sell you their loots. All the revenue so earned would be transferred to a dark web account he had made earlier. After this month, he had ordered Andy to use this money to rent the servers and to hire the killers.

 The guns and weapons could be gotten after killing the zombies which are at least 1st class or higher. The vehicles were with the AI and could be bought if  your relation with a NPC was very good. It would still cost a fortune to do so.

Various guilds, mercenary groups, parties could be set up. Communication channels could be set up and you could chat using microphone or text messages.

Various classes such as weapon designer, vehicle designer, armor designer, etc were available. Recepies for such weapons, armors and vehicles could be found from various bosses. At first these classes may be crystal burning ones but later on after a month of release of the game, customization of the weapon would be available which would allow such weapons designers to make major changes in the weapons or vehicles and make custom tailored ones.

Various dungeons were set up too. All in all it was one of those advanced VRMMO games you see in the novels but this MMO game was one that you could play on the computer with a flat screen. The game was good. The photorealistic graphics was the main point and it could be operated from any average Joe computer too.

Mencari pegangan di sarung pistol di pinggangnya, ia memegang sebuah permukaan logam keras. Hampir - hampir, waktunya hampir tiba. Dia memandang waktu yang ditampilkan di wilayah pandangannya. Tinggal satu menit dan dua puluh detik lagi.

Dua orang yang duduk di meja samping «dia», sedang mengobrol sambil mengambil minuman dari botolnya.

"Blah, mengatakan kondisi yang baik. Dulunya, Zexceed-san adalah orang yang berkata bahwa jenis AGI adalah yang terkuat."

"Kalau dipikir kembali, rumor populer tersebut mungkin sebuah jebakan ... Kita ditipu ..."

"Apakah ini berarti bahwa perkataan bahwa pengaturan STR-VIT merupakan yang terkuat juga cuma gertakan?"

"Lalu apa yang benar-benar dia lakukan? Meningkatkan LUK? "

"Silahkan kau mencobanya."

"Tidak mau."

Sementara kedua orang itu tertawa, kata-kata mereka membuat «dia» semakin marah. Bagaimana orang bisa tertawa seperti itu setelah mengetahui mereka telah ditipu, Dia tidak bisa mengerti.

- Tapi, tawaan bodoh tersebut akan segera membeku di tenggorokan mereka, ketika mereka melihat kekuatan yang sebenarnya, pemain terkuat yang sebenarnya.

Akhirnya, waktunya telah tiba.

«Dia» berdiri nyaris tanpa suara dan berjalan langkah demi langkah diantara meja. Tidak seorangpun menetap di dalam pandangan mata «dia».

Orang-orang yang bodoh ... gemetarlah dalam ketakutan.

«Dia» berhenti di tengah bar, tepat di bawah panel hologram. Dari sarung pistol di pinggang dibalik jubahnya, ia mengeluarkan sebuah pistol usang.

Seperti kegelapan yang terkonsentrasi dan terkristal, pistol itu memberikan kilauan metalik hitam yang dingin. Bahkan pegangan pistol adalah logam, bukan gerigi, dan di pusatnya dihiasi dengan bintang. Dari bentuknya saja, tidak terlihat kuat dan mirip dengan pistol otomatis yang lain tersedia di mana-mana.

Tapi pistol itu memiliki «Kekuatan yang Sebenarnya».

Dengan sekali klik, «Dia» menarik kembali silinder dan mengisinya , dan dengan tangan yang gemetar pistol tersebut diarahkan ke panel hologram. Diarahkan pada dahi dari Zexceed, pemain terkuat, yang sedang tertawa

«Dia» tetap seperti itu untuk beberapa waktu, dan orang-orang di sekitarnya akhirnya melihatnya dan menjadi ribut. Bahkan untuk permainan PK tak terbatas GGO, menyerang di jalan adalah hal yang mustahil. Walaupun bisa ditembakkan, peluru tidak akan melukai pemain atau objek apapun.

Beberapa orang menertawakan tindakan «Dia» yang sia-sia tapi «Dia» tidak terpengaruh, dan terus mengarahkan pistol hitamnya.

Di dalam panel, Zexceed melanjutkan ocehannya.

Tubuh asli Zexceed sedang terbaring di suatu tempat, dengan «AmuSphere» di kepalanya yang menghubungkannya ke studio maya MMO Streaming. Dia tidak tahu bahwa sebuah pistol sedang membidik karakternya di layar TV pada sebuah bar, di pusat perbelanjaan di ibukota dunia GGO «SBC Gurokken».

Mulut «Dia» terbuka, dan berteriak sekeras-kerasnya.

"Zexceed! Kamu si pemenang palsu! Sekarang, rasakan kebenaran dari kekuatan yang sesungguhnya!!"

Dikelilingi oleh pemain disekitarnya yang terdiam, «Dia» mengangkat tangan kirinya, dengan jarinya yang berpindah dari kepala, dada, bahu kiri, kemudian bahu kanan sehingga membuat sebuah tanda salib.

Sambil menurunkan tangan kirinya, tangan kanannya menarik pelatuk.

Di bar yang remang-remang, peluru logam tersebut terbang dalam sebuah garis lurus - dan menghantam bagian depan panel hologram, menimbulkan efek cahaya kecil.

Itulah yang terjadi. Di layar, mulut Zexceed terus bergerak.

Pada saat itu, toko terisi dengan tawaan. 'Ahaha' 'Dia melakukannya' dan kata-kata lain diucapkan dan diantara obrolan yang terjadi, Zexceed melanjutkan kata-katanya.

"...Pada akhirnya, termasuk memilih stat dan skill, itu semua tergantung pada kekuatan dan kemampuan pemain di kehidupan nyata..."

Tiba-tiba, semua suara membeku.

Kerumunan di bar kembali melihat ke panel.

Zexceed, dengan mulut yang masih terbuka lebar, membeku dengan mata melotot. Tangannya diangkat lemah, berusaha memegang tengah dadanya.

Tidak lama kemudian, karakternya menghilang, hanya menyisakan kursi poligon dan host berkata dengan panik.

"Oh tidak, tampaknya koneksinya terputus tapi dia seharusnya segera kembali, pemirsa jangan mengganti saluran dan tetap menunggu..."

Tapi tak seorang pun di toko mendengar kata-kata saat itu, dalam kesunyian, semua orang berpaling untuk fokus pada «Dia».

«Dia» mengendurkan bidikannya pada monitor dan menarik kembali senjatanya dengan memegang secara horizontal. Dalam pose ini, ia perlahan-lahan berbalik dan melihat para pemain yang terkejut di toko.

Setelah berbalik, ia kembali memegang pistol hitamnya tinggi-tinggi di udara dan berteriak.

"...Ini, adalah kekuatan yang sebenarnya, kekuatan nyata! Orang-orang bodoh, ukir rasa takut terhadap nama-nama ini dalam hatimu! "

Dia menarik napas dalam-dalam-

"Namaku dan pistol ini: «Death Gun» - «Death Pistol»!! "

«Dia» memasukkan pistol ke sarungnya dan melambaikan tangan kirinya untuk membuka jendela menu.

Sambil menekan tombol Log Out, perasaan keberhasilan «Dia» telah dikalikan dengan kelaparan untuk melakukan lebih.

Sinon merupakan seorang gadis yang mahir dalam permainan VRMMO, terutama dalam permainan yang disebut Gun Gale Online (GGO) dan ALfheim Online (ALO). Di dalam ALO, Sinon berperan sebagai karaktek pemanah Cait Sith yang menggunakan sebuah panah yang dibuat oleh Lisbeth. Dia adalah pemanah yang handal yang mampu memanah target dengan tepat pada jarak 200 m, padahal normalnya jarak panah maksimal hanya 100 m. Beberapa hari kemudian, Sinon bertemu dengan Kirito. Dia pikir Kirito itu adalah seorang gadis, sehingga Sinon menawarkan bantuan kepada Kirito. Setelah membantu Kirito membeli perlengkapan dalam game tersebut, keduanya ikut mendaftar dalam sebuah turnamen yang disebut “Bullet of Bullets”. Mengetahui bahwa Kirito benar-benar seorang laki-laki, Sinon pun menamparnya. Karena merasa dibohongi oleh Kirito, Sinon pun menyuruh Kirito berjanji kepadanya agar terus bertahan hingga Semifinal sehingga dia bisa mengalahkan Kirito dalam pertarungan di Turnamen tersebut

"But when mom?"

"When your 4 sweetheart."

"I know I can't wait wait for my party next week."

In this world kids develop a Qurik when they are 4 years old. Quirks are superpowers that just started showing up all around the world around 100 years after a newborn was glowing gold. There's 3 types of quirks transformation, emitters and mutation. Mutation is a quirk you're born with usually it's extra appendages or appendages that's not usually on the humanbody. Emitter quirks are quirks that can emit their quirk outside their body without without hardly any negative outcome like being able to control flames without getting burned. Transformation quirks are quirks where you can temporarily boost your body's natural strength, speed, defense etc for a limited time. Quirks development depend on what types of quirks your parents have. 70% of the population have quirks and if you train them hard enough you can be a hero.

My momma haves an emitter type quirk that deals with lightning named Sparks, while my dad has a mutation type quirk named 4-Arms. My parents weren't interested in training their quirks to become heroes. I don't really see why though heroes are amazing. My momma is a librarian, while my dad is a gaming creator for some company.

"When can we goooo?"

Soon your appointment isn't until 3."- Mom

"Dad not gonna go?"

"Sorry sweetie he gotta work."

"Awww."

The only way to tell that a quirk is about to develop is to get a x-ray on your foot to see if a bone growing in your foot that a quirkless doesn't have. If it doesn't develop then you won't develop a quirk. I'm not born with a mutation quirk like my dad so I have to get an x-ray.

*At Bellevue hospital after many x-rays* ( TLN* it's a hospital in New York I'm hinting that they live in New York)

'Finally why did they have to take so many? Its not like I was moving'

"Sorry Zack can't tell you when or even if you're even gonna develop a quirk." -Doctor 

"W-What?! Why?!"- Zack

"It seems that the x-ray machine isn't working right."

He picks up one of the x-ray picture and shows it to me and my mom.

"There all like this."

The picture itself was cloudy my foot itself was there but there were no bones at all. 

"How's this possible? With quirks relating to intelligence bugs like this should be ancient history."- Mom

"I know it's very weird all we can do here is complain to the manufacturer of the X-ray machine and have someone to fix it. If you want I can get ahold of the local community hospital and ask them to do it?"

"That be great, sorry for the trouble."- Mom

"No problem we weren't expecting this either."

*Later At home*

'Wait I half to wait even longer now'

 Dissatisfaction was easily seen on my face.

"Come on don't make that face."

"I've been waiting for this day." 

"I know sorry sweetheart but I made you another appointment for next week."

"Thank you momma."

"No problem sweetie now go wash for dinner your father gonna get back too soon."

"K mom."


*Later at the house*

Dad came home soon after I got out of the bath and we're eating supper as a family like we always do. Today we're having some baked chicken that's slightly seasoned with green beans and corn. 

"So do you have a quirk?"- Dad 


"We don't know know."- Mom


"What?"- Dad


"The x-ray machine wasn't working right."- Zack


"That's rare technology doesn't usually malfunction since the recent advancements in technology."- Dad


"That's exactly what I said!"- Mom


"Well there's nothing we can do about it."- Dad


"Dad what's the new game your working on?"


Dad's been working on a new video games for the last 2 years almost 3 now. It's supposed to be a very big project. It's a mmo that their company is going to be releasing soon for PC. He hasn't said much about it only that I would be able to play it when it comes out. Me and my dad loves to play video games it's our bonding time. Whenever he's not at work he's with me, he barely gets any time away from the company. We've even played some MMO's together with obviously my father's permission.


"Sorry bud you know I can't talk about it."- Dad


"Come on at least give me something.."


"Well the official game is already finished I'm just finishing up a few more bugs."


"Then why hasn't been released yet?"


"Its an important bug."


"At least tell me the genre."


"Fine it's a JRPG MMO."


"That's hardly anything new! It took nearly 3 years to code it?"


"You know know nothing about coding a MMO."


"Hmmm"


 I wonder what's so important about the game that he can't even tell me about it. Honestly I just think he's messing with me but why would he keep it a secret for nearly 3 years?


"It's a gound-braking game don't worry about it."- Dad


"THAT JUST MAKES ME WONDER MORE!!!"- Zack 


"IT'S GONNA BE THE BEST GAME EVER!"- Dad


Like right now he's just messing with me.


"I feel like I'm raising 2 children."- Mom


"Hehe"- Dad/Zack 


My parents gave me more ice cream than normal probably because of what happened at the hospital I'm not complaining tho. But I ate too much sugar and couldn't fall asleep as easily as I do.


Throughout the night Zack's body turned a blue-silver color while all his limbs and head we're being absorbed to the center of his body slowly turning into a solid yet liquid slime body.

Test has show that the body itself is made of brain cells probably an increased intelligence but utterly useless because there is no way to communicate, no ears, no eyes food is not necessary can't tell if quirk user can sleep. The body of a slime is quite durable but can't make much use of it most that they can do is lightly jump. There's theories that that the quirk users conscious will always be in the Slime body but no actual Theory backs it up as time passes they slowly become less responsive or less jumpy.

This novel is a fanfiction between "My Hero Academia" and "That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime" but with my own twists most of the characters I'm going to introduce are original characters but there will be some characters from the anime/manga from my hero Academia

This story begins in X City.

The year is 26XX. High rise buildings, flying cars and glamour were all present here. It had become the hottest place to live for anyone who's anyone. Hands had chips filled with endless zeros and it was all thanks to a company Corp X.

Corp X had humble beginnings during a time where artificial enhancements were slowly blooming. They had made several failed projects but after the introduction of their "Brain Interlinking Device" or BID Corp X had risen directly from the bottom to the top. 

The BID meant that the everyday person no longer had to rely on physical devices to make calls or even physically go to work. Corp X had found that although the brain was complicated was easy to trick and used it to their full advantage.

Since people no longer needed to be in the same room or even leave the house the world had encountered a problem. Obesity and various other health problems had become a common occurrence as so had behavioral problems.  Touching one another and even walking had become almost obsolete and the birth rate and fallen to dangerous levels. 

Touch was impossible and physically movement wasn't necessary.  Although humanity had taken amazing steps forward in technology the problems that the Brain Interlinking Device had caused was too much. 

To combat this Corp X had decided to fix the mess they made and created the first bio-suit. The bio-suit worked alongside the BID to create a whole new experience for their uses.  Instead of just an overlay a full three dimensional space was created and special rooms had to be added to a house in order to fully experience the new immersive experience.

The "X Room Immersive Experience" or XRIE was then advertised as a package set and the world was hungry for it. 

The XRIE had fully integrated moving floors, motion capture, climate control and even touch sensitivity thanks to the Bio-suit.  XRIE had also come with an MMO game that would take the world by storm. 

" XRIE Life" could allow people to taste foods and flavors they had never tried before, touch swords, learn actual skills like cooking, fighting, paying taxes all while being immersed in a fantasy land. 

XRIE Life wasn't just for the children either since X Corp had even added a business section where you could use in game or real life currency to buy houses and buildings that had a real effect on the stock market. 

People were making money, building business, getting healthy and even able to meet their future spouses in game but not everyone was happy.  In a certain dark warehouse a man was brooding. 

His cold face filled with malice as he tapped away on his keyboard.

"Think you can screw me over?!" He mumbled as he typed.

" XRIE WAS MADE BY ME DAMMIT, THE CHIP MINE!" he lamented angrily.

" Soon.. you will all suffer as your precious system destroys itself! How dare you take my shares and strip me of job?!" He continued to mumble as he wiped the sweat of his brow. 

He smiled, the grin on his face twisted as he pulled a device from the back of a once amazing yet obsolete computer and swiped it over his hand.

[ Hacking 100% complete ]

[ Destroying Evidence ]

[ Evidence Destruction Complete ]

[ VIRUS UPLOADING ]

[ Destination.Object XRIE Life = " Demon Lord" ]

[ 50 %]

[ 60 %]

[ 85% ]

Unfortunately the ex head programmer of XRIE Life and the co-creator of the BID was about to have a very.. very bad day.

The door to the wear house was bagged down my military personal  and the air was filled with tear gas.

" Dr Jim, Did you really think you could get away with this?" A ridiculing voice sounded as Dr Jim coughed relentlessly.

" You're too late Malacus" Jim said before he spat on the ground.

[95%]

" We just need to stop you… it was nice working with you Jim" Malacus said with a smile.

Bang!

BANG!

Gunshots were fired as Jim was shot right in the chest. 

[99%]

" Did we get to him in time? " Malacus said as he pointed to Jim's cold body.

" Looks like we did it stopped at 99%" A programmer in military garb said with a scanner against Jim's arm.

" You will.. Never.. Win.." said Jim as his final words.

Jim smiled as he spat blood and closed his eyes.  

Meanwhile in cyberspace….

[ Initializing Failsafe.. ]

[ Coordinates Failure….]

[ Redirecting to nearest npc.object... ]

A certain Non playable character in one of the many starting zones of XRIE Life opened their eyes and blinked for the very first time.  The simple NPC bandit watched as their body moved on it's own in a world completely unfamiliar to it.

Strings of numbers were surrounding the NPC they danced like magic each second. 

"436f6d65206f6e21205765206861766520676f74207468697321204a757374206120666577206d6f72652062616e6469747320616e642077652077696c6c20686176652066696e697368656420746865207175657374" A player commented as they wiped their forehead.

To the bandit however, the player just looked like a bunch of code and the words they spoke incomprehensible. 

"44494521" another player said as they swiped their sword at the bandit.

The world went black.

The NPC had been killed in battle. 

In just five minutes it would re-spawn again and watch unable to do anything as it was slaughtered once again.

 This time the worlds the players spoke were understood.

[ Run Human.Overlay ]

Dead again.

Trees, plants, other NPC's and even the players could not be seen by the NPC.

The bandit sat in a dark space taking in the sounds of the disembodied voice. 

It was not particularly worried that it had just been killed for the fourteenth time. Watching yourself die over and over again wouldn't be pleasant for a human, but a soulless husk It was a different story.

It wasn't capable of understanding.

Yet.

The cycle of birth and death came and went. 

The NPC Absorbed knowledge like a sponge as all of it's systems were updated. 
Personality, attack strategies, defense strategies, the ability to learn and grow a bigger memory, in game inventory and all of the basics were added to the NPC's system.

Death began to become truly uncomfortable.

The bandit still wasn't able to control it's own body.

It could only watch and wait.

The bandit seethed as it was killed over and over.

"I want.. I want to move" The NPC thought to itself.

The NPC unable to move watched itself be killed again.

If it could move enough to sigh it probably would.

[ Self Update Initiated ]

[ Update Complete ]

" Hello I am "Destruction Initiation Being" You can call me DIB."  the virus said as the NPC stood in a T- Pose. 

"DIB are you the voice I have been hearing? " The NPC said quietly.

" Correct." DIB Replied in a monotone voice.

" DIB.. I want to move." the NPC bandit thought unable to speak.

" Be patient… I have not finished." DIB said before static was heard.

[ ERROR ]

[ Reinitialize... ]

[ ERROR ]

" You are not Object.DemonLord, you are Object.Bandit." The disembodied DIB sounded slightly annoyed.

" I am Object.Bandit?" The NPC thought to itself.

Before the NPC could have an identity crisis DIB responded.

" Yes or Bandit for short, You are Level 1 Bandit in starting zone A " Little Town" " DIB replied.

" Is that a problem?" Bandit said confused.

" Yes." DIB said in a short burst.

DIB began explaining that there had been a terrible mix up and that Bandit was not supposed to be upgraded instead the Demon Lord was.

Mid way through conversing the NPC was summoned back into the game world before being promptly slaughtered again. 

" This is getting annoying." DIB quickly added quite annoyed. 

If Bandit's eye could twitch it probably would be right now.

[ Turn off Respawn.System ]

[ Turn of Character.Movement ]

" Much better. " DIB said.

The T-Pose that the poor bandit was in promptly softened before the NPC collapsed onto an invisible floor. 

A bright light shone before a small black and red faceless fairy appeared.  On its head a set of nasty black horns. 

" Much better." the fairy DIB said as it floated around Bandit.

" Why didn't you do that earlier." Bandit said angrily its eye finally able to twitch.

" Didn't want to." DIB replied smugly.

" Annoying Pest." Bandit said grumpily.

" Failure!" DIB Responded.

" Failure?" Bandit said as it stood.

" Right. As I was saying. The Demon Lord was supposed to be " Awakened" by me and then destroy the world of XRIE Life. I guess we are just going to have to find the Demon Lord…" the evil fairy said as it floated around.

" We?" Bandit responded after listening. 

" Yes we!" DIB said in a huff.

" Don't want to." bandit said mockingly using DIB's words against it.

" Do you want to go back to being unable to move? Trapped in your own thoughts? Plus.. we are stuck together and I can't undo the upgrades. It was a fail safe to make sure that Demon Lord got the job done." DIB said in an authoritative tone.

" Do you even know where this Demon Lord is?" Bandit said after a moment.

" No, my tracking and navigation is damaged so are a few more of my systems." DIB replied almost melancholy. 

" This is a mess..." Bandit said as it looked up at the fairy sluggishly.

" It sure is." DIB said as it flew.

" Wait.. What's XRIE Life?" Bandit said after a moment.

DIB used it's tiny hands to hold its head.

" I guess i need to start from the beginning." DIB said after it sighed.
