Who am I? 
No I haven't lost my memories. It's just me reliving a lifetime that I played. Well nevermind you won't understand it right now. 
So I'll start from my birth. I was born God knows where and grew up who cares where. Anyways it was 12th birthday when I received the gift that changed not only my life but my world. 

It felt as if I'd been living in a primitive ant hole till now. I was someone who used my mobile a lot and that day it changed into something that I still can't comprehend till date.

That was the day My App decided to enter my phone and subsequently my life. I believed I'd seen many strange things in my lifetime however this one was in a while different League.

My phone at that time suddenly blanks out and floats above my hand and comes face to face with me. Imagine being a 12 year old satisfied with your life but burying inside you the childish dream that you nurture. That was me at that time and the floating of my phone was the start of my dream.

I woke up at that moment finding myself sleeping on my bed with my phone in my hand. As I sigh to myself and wake up I find that my phone is stuck in its position and isn't moving. 

Well I do accept that the world has moved on and levitation is possible however this is just ridiculous. This is no levitation. The phone is just stuck in the air it's like gravity  has no effect on it.

I don't know if I am excited or fearful of what's about to happen. I move towards my phone and try to unlock it. The next words that I hear change everything that I believe my phone to be.

It says " Welcome Mr. Sunv Rappie. Would you like to install the world's latest app ~My App~ . Unlock your phone to accept and restart your phone to reject. "

Till date this has been the most weirdest advertisement I have ever seen. They took over my phone just to advertise their own app. Well even though I was poor this phone still wasn't a precious property of mine so even if it broke it wasn't going to have a major impact on me or my life in any way.

This was how my phone changed and My App entered my phone and my life.

Gulu gulu!

Haruto stood straight after he washed his face. He looked into his reflection in the mirror. There, he saw a young man with short black hair and average face. It's not to the point that people call him ugly nor handsome. It's between the two, the face of an average mob character.

Despite that he possessed a well built body. He was extremely athletic as he trained his body to its limit everyday. 

He joined many clubs to find what he enjoyed the most. He joined Kendo, Karate, Judo, Basketball, Track and Field, etc. but he didn't find what he wanted to do. Well he did enjoyed it a little, but in truth, deep inside him he already know what he wants the most.

He wants a very thrilling adventures where he would discover a lot of new things. But there's almost no place that's left for him to discover in this world except the world under the sea. He always love to watched an adventure genre movies where the main character would discover a path below the earth. He also watched those documentaries about the new planets that were discovered or the new species found under the sea. 

A lot of time had passed and he's a university student. 

Haruto nodded at his look. He turned around and wear a casual clothes. Picking up his bag, he exited his room and walked straight to the university he's attending. 

He seriously listened and took down notes from the lectures of his professors. During the lectures, he felt his phone vibrated which was inside his pocket. 

He looked at it and saw his friend sent him a message.

'Wanna hit a karaoke?' 

He read the message and sent his reply. It's really boring and he wanted to do something to passed his time. After that, he went back to listen to the professor.

"Hais... Rin dump you!" 

A man in his early twenties said while passing Haruto a cigarette. He's Haruto's friend since highschool, Iori Matsuda.

"Yeah." 

Haruto nodded and received the cigarette. He put it in his mouth and lit it up. 

"It's hard to find a girl that's compatible to you." 

Iori said while blowing a smoke. He already introduced a lot of girls to Haruto but those girls didn't even stay at him for a long time.

What to say? 

Haruto have lot of good qualities but there's one thing that girls don't like about him. How to say this? Girls always says that he's a chuuni. 

Chuuni? Yeah, as in 8th Grader Syndrome. 

Iori sometimes found Haruto spacing out muttering things like "I want to go to another world" or "I will accomplish that things" or something like "I feel like I've been born in the wrong era". 

He knows that Haruto was an adventurous man that's why he decided to recommend him to become a Seaman. But Haruto declined and said that he just want to watched a lot of movies and write books. 

He doesn't really get Haruto. In highschool, Haruto joined a lot of sports club and excel in it but he eventually quit. And then, Haruto started watching movies then anime. Then, he would get some news that Haruto tried bungee jump and other extreme activities alone. These news freak him out and Yuki. All in all, Haruto did many things that he haven't tried up until now. 

"How about Yuki?" 

"Nope, she's a friend, I don't want to ruin our friendship." 

Haruto said. He like Yuki, as a friend. He doesn't have any romantic feelings for her so being a friend was enough for him. 

"Let's not talk about that! Let's go to karaoke and enjoy!" 

Iori shook his head. 

"Sure." 

Haruto followed behind him as both of them went to the nearest karaoke.

It's already dark when Haruto returned to his apartment. 

He then felt his phone vibrated. He checked and saw that someone send him a link to an app.

He tap the link and his screen turned black.

"What?! Don't tell me... It's a scam!"

After a few moments, the screen returned and there's a new app added to his phone.

"What?! Just like that I already installed the app!" 

He felt strange to this app. It has a mysterious feeling that he couldn't describe. 

Feeling this, he search the name of the app in internet. But no matter what he do he couldn't find the same app. Then, he checked the message on his phone and saw that it was already gone. 

"What the hell is this?" 

He muttered while looking at the small black serpent icon of the app. 

"God World Game...?"

It was the first time he heard this game. 

It must be some sort of virus, right?

The mysterious vibe he's feeling was urging him to tap the icon. 

"Well, there's nothing to lose." 

He said as he tap the icon of the game.

Once again, the screen turned black and row of words slowly appeared.

The words were written in a very plain font. 

Soon, the words disappeared and new words appeared.

A red light flashes from his phone. It scanned his body from head to toe.

"Wha-What the hell is that?!" 

He was surprised that he almost loosen his grip on his phone. 

Once again, words appeared in his phone but this words were different from before.

No, don't tell me... that light from before scanned his body and base on that the game wrote his stats in numbers like in the other games.

Haruto looked at it with a frown. This game really have high features. Since, it doesn't hurt him he tap the words [Orlando Continent]. 

As soon as he tap his phone, it emitted a bright white light and covered his entire body.

The light disappeared in just a few seconds but Haruto also disappeared along with the white light.

In an unknown place, a white light appeared in the middle of a forest. It brought down a humanoid figure.

Thud!

"Argh!" Haruto held his head as he felt a slight pain. 

"What was that?"

He saw his phone on the ground. He reached out and picked it up. He put it inside his pocket before he stood up and scanned his surroundings. 

"Where am I?" 

His brain was working to its limit. Various ideas kept coming in his mind about his situation. 

He finally understood that he arrived in another world because of that strange game. 

"Isn't this what I want?"

He couldn't help but tremble in excitement. He checked his phone and saw something that he needs.

Haruto read with a frown on his face. He had an idea about what's happening in this world.

Zombie outbreak, huh?

It's like those movies that he watched before so he had a general idea what he should do. 

And the hint... He should find and kill some zombies before he dissect it. 

He doesn't have any weapon right now. So he have to be extra careful of his surroundings. The word "Mutated" made him feel unease. It mist those zombies and animals that's stronger than ordinary people. 

It's still daylight and it made him easy to exit this forest. 

In just 30 minutes, he arrived in the nearest city, the Galgon City.

Zombies were walking around everywhere around the city. The tall buildings looked like it were abandoned for a long time. Lights were flickering in some of the buildings. Trash were around and it smell like a rotten piece of meat. 

"Whoa! This looks really bad!" 

Haruto muttered as he hid his body at the entrance of the city. He observed the zombies and found that they were too slow. Swinging around while walking. 

Gulp!

Looking at the rotten corpse, he felt that he was about to puke everything that he ate this morning.

Haruto was bored of his everyday life. He wants to change something from him. 

He wants to go on adventures and discover new things. 

One day, someone send him a link to a game called [God World Game].

He installed the game thinking that it wouldn't brought him any harm. 

He wouldn't expect that this game would brought him a new things that he haven't experience before.

A voice of a man was continuously reverberating through his ear.

"Huh? What?" Liam woke up from his deep slumber.

His body was somewhat stiff and sweaty and his expression was a bit troubled.

"What 'what'? The damned teacher is already here, stupid." A student near him went near his ear and muttered things at him with a low voice. 

"Huh? What?" After hearing his classmate talked, he was confused.

He was bothered when the phone inside his pocket rang so he pulled it out and checked it. After seeing the notification on the screen, he frowned.

"Hey, hide your phone, you crazy motherfu–"

"STAND UP!"    
 
A loud, thunderous roar which you only hear in movies echoed throughout the whole room. It was a familiar woman who have her sharp-glaring eyes and her fairly voluptuous body standing firmly in the front end of the room. 

After hearing her exclaimed, all the students, besides Liam who was surprised and dropped his phone, immediately stood up and looked at the blackboard without letting a second passed.

"Sit! Have you already finished the things I wanted you to do?" 

"Yes, miss Anna!"
 
"Question. What did the monster historians from the hunter association found after visiting an old ruin from the eastern continent." The lady teacher asked while she turned around to write something on the board. 
 
Liam, who was not listening since his phone fell, regained his composure and sat straightly on his chair.

'What just happened to me? This happened before, right?'

He grabbed his phone back in front of him again and looked at the new notification. 

"No fucking way..."
 
He can't believe it. He even blinked his eyes, closed his phone, and looked at it three times. Even though he knew it don't change anything because it's just a word from his phone.

"Give me the name of the student talking at the back?" After letting a question flow out from her mouth, she simply glanced at the empty air.

"M-Miss, good... Good afternoon. We apologize..." Nathan stood up and bowed his head towards the lady teacher.

"You dare chit chat in my class! Both of you! Get out of the room, stand up with your arms wide open, and prepare to call your parents in the school!"

Liam was kicked out of the room and was forced to stand up in the corridor.

"Damn it. What's happening?" He was irritatingly upset. 

He didn't know if this was just a dream or not.

"Hey, Liam. You're really crazy. I shouldn't have woke you up. Now, I'm also here." He chuckled.

He seems to be quite friendly with Liam.

"Hey, uh, classmate. Hit me." Liam suddenly said in a nonchalant manner.

If this was just a dream, he really needed to wake up as soon as possible. He didn't know what would happen to him at his school. 

"Ah, it's Nathan. And sorry, but what? Why would I hit you?" Nathan simply tilted his head without much confusion and questioned Liam.

"I would just like to confirm something."

"Okay." 

Not even a second passed but he already tried to move his body. Then...

ACK!

...He quickly hit Liam.

"Kurk–! I-It hurts! W-Why did you hit me in the stomach...!?" Liam lowered his body as he touched his agonizing abdomen.

It was painful. If he knew it would land there, he would have definitely warn him, but he barely even see Nathan move.

"Oh, sorry. I thought you could take it. I'll help you take yourself on the bench there if you want."

"You damned..."

A while later, they both sat on the bench near the corridor but far from their room. It took a while before Liam recovered from the blow on his stomach.
 
Then Nathan suddenly spoke...

"Anyways, why are you weak?"

The question was like a knife stabbing Liam straight into his chest.

I've been like this for my whole life, what are you talking about!

"You're just incredibly strong." Liam shrugged.

"Eh? But my strength is really average compared to the other students in the top three classes. Maybe you're just really weak." He spoke up with his straight face.

And the last words stabbed Liam once again. But he quickly recovered from that than earlier since he was quite confused from what he said.

"Average?"

"You're really stupid... And weak I guess."

"Damn it."

"Ah, I forgot. Just tell me your stats so I can tell." Nathan scratched his head as if he really just remembered something and it was stupid for him.

"Huh? Stats?" 
 
Now he was really confused.

"Yeah. Your level or your attributes." 
 
"Huh? Ah. What game are you exactly talking about?"

"Game? I mean the system? Your system."

"System?" Liam's face even more frowned.

At that moment, he widened his eyes as he looked at the empty air. 
 
"Ah, do you see it now?" Nathan looked at the sweating Liam who looked extremely surprised.

"N-No way..."

A window appeared in front of him, showing his status, level, and attributes.

"...This isn't true, right?" Liam asked without looking away from the window.

"What do you mean 'it's not true'? The system has always been with us since becoming ten years old. You're really being weird."

Gulp. He couldn't believe it. So he really was transported to another world.

"This... Is this really real?" Liam was quite shocked after seeing the window in front of him.

'He said we all have this system... I'm in an alternate reality...'

"I told you, it is. So what's your level?" He immediately asked after carelessly picking his nose just now.

"Ah. Uh... I'm Level 21 right now, is that good?" Liam turned his eyes off his stats for a moment and stared at Nathan and questioned him.
 
"Eh? The average level of a student for our year is mostly twenty-seven. So you really are weak."

"Don't say it so casually! Ah, At least I have my sprint skill to level 19."

Nathan tilted his head once again.

"The average level of sprint is 25. You really are weak. I think the teachers even say you can't completely outrun from a low D class monster when you're sprint skill isn't at least higher than the level 20." Nathan carelessly said with his straight face.

"Damn it." Liam was once again upset.

'So I really am weak in this world. I thought every people getting isekai'd will be overpowered from the start. I guess not.'

He felt dejected. He can't even run from some low-level monsters...

Liam was at the point of his life where he couldn't care about anything at all. 

After being kicked out of his classroom from sleeping, he opened his phone just to notice that it doesn't have any app besides one.

I slashed two of the demons with my sword causing them to let out a loud Screech!! As they fall to the ground.  As I did this the blonde haired student seeing the demons being attacked by me tried to run away quickly.  "R-Run! Get outta here!" The blonde student cried out trying to get away from the demons that were attacking him.

  The green haired student with tears in his eyes and trying to control the blood coming out of his stomach tries to back away from the demons surrounding him.  "Eek! T-There's blood everywhere! We're gonna. . . d-d-die!"  

  "Pfft. How pathetic! To think these are the same scoundrels who were so full of themselves earlier. There's nothing quite as satisfying as seeing arrogant pests reduced to a blind panic!" I quickly smack him hard over his head when I was sure no one was going to attack me.

  "Oomph! Heeey! What was that smack for, Master? Such abuse!"  Salomon cover his head with his hands rubbing it with tears in his eyes and I just give him a little glare with no sympathy in my eyes. "I don't like that kind of attitude so quit it and hurry up with telling me how to stop these little devils already you naughty butler." 

  "Stop them? You mean those demons? Okay. . . Here goes. . . I have a theory, Master. I realized it mid-battle. . . but those things are not Stray Transients. It's likely that they're familiars summoned by a user who isn't in the immediate vicinity. Unlike the more stable beings we call Transients, these guys have been temporarily summoned using the App. From the look of it, these morons tried to pick on the Summoner of those demons."  Salomon nod his head as he put the pieces together.

  "The Summoner is gone now, though. It seems the familiars are fighting by themselves" I furrowed my brow together when I heard this.  "So it fine for the familiars to fight without their Summoner present?"  

  "Hm? Are they allowed to fight without a Summoner? Not a problem. In fact, it's a very typical method of using a familiar. That way, you can go on the offensive from a safe location."  I look Salomon up and down with a frown on my face.  "Shouldn't you be able to fight then Lil' Salomon? Come on, turn big and scary like those demons."

  "Me?! But I'm so very cute! I'm the perfect moral support for you, Master. My very existence is a cut above such common-place, run-of-the-mill familiars. Ahem."   Salomon tugged at his suit jacket with a smug smile on his face and I just shake my head lightly.

  "On that note. . . allow me to answer your question. Familiars can't make the decision to end a battle. To stop them, you need their Summoner to give the order. . . or you kill them! That would be the quickest, of course, since we don't even know where the Summoner is. The identity of the enemy remains a mystery, and they have the advantage of numbers. You'd be killed, Master! And if that happens, it could be. . . problematic, to say the least."  Salomon nod his head when he said this.

  The demons turned to look at us tilting their head causing a chill to go up my back. "Oh, now that gives me chills. . . They're staring right at us!"  Salomon slowly move towards my back trembling under their stares.

  "Skreee. . . Ss-ss. . .sssu. . .mmo. . .ner. . .? You. . . enemy. . .? Yes. . . you are. . . Master's. . .enemy! Eliminate Summoners! Eliminate! Eliminate all Master's enemies! Phone! Source. . . of power! Take. . . phone! Destroy! DESTROY PHONE TO DESTROY POWER!"  The demons slowly started to surround me chanting Destroy Phone to Destroy Power causing me to back away slightly to give myself space to move.

  "Whaaat?! N-No, no way! We can't let that happen! If your phone is destroyed, I'll be-"  Salomon quickly stop himself his eyes looking over to me quickly.  "I mean. . . you. . . won't be able to return to your world, Master!"

  "WHAT?! You could have mentioned this sooner!"  I dodge an attack from one of the demons trying to get my phone and quickly slashed at them with my sword protecting my phone from them. 

 "The thing is, a true Summoner could open a Gate even without the App. But since it's the App that allows you to act as a Summoner, you'll be completely useless without your phone! What's more, if your phone is destroyed, then all the data for the App will be lost, and . . .  Any Sacred Artifacts you've bonded with, all record of your summonings, and even the way back to your world will be gone!"  Hearing this cause me to sweat nervously once I realize my phone being destroyed will be a horrible horrible thing.

  As I was lost in my thoughts the demons let out a loud Screeech and went to attack me causing me to raise my sword up to defend myself and quickly shield my phone from their line of sight. "Aaaah! They're coming this way! They're heading straight for your phone! Listen up, Master! You absolutely must protect it at all costs! I beg of you! There's no calling customer service and asking to have your data restored! It's on you to protect your phone!"  With sweat coming down my forehead I tightly gripped my sword and try to calm down my racing heart trying to ignore the worry in Salomon voice.

When Alex was diagnosed with cancer his belief in the world plummeted to extremely low levels, he had to deal with the illness alone. His wife left him as soon as he told her the news, saying that if he was unable to provide for her then there was no point in them being together. The rest of his family had outcast him form a young age, he had been seen as a sign of bad luck ever since his mother passed away in childbirth.  His father turned to alcoholism when his wife died and he would often neglect and beat Alex. 

Alex finally got a break when a young couple reported his father to social services and offered to look after the young boy in their home instead. His life in their home was better than at his father's however he was still an outcast in school and this carried on all the way to college. He finally got his first girlfriend while in college however the relationship didn't last long as Alex found her cheating on him with one of his few friends. 

Like all good things that happened to Alex, his relationship with the couple who adopted broke down after he was cheated on. He shut them out and became aggressive when dealing with those around him, the couple were close to giving up on him when they decided to go on a short holiday to think things over and before they could return, they were killed in a car crash. Alex blamed him self for their deaths, he felt as if he weakness lead him to lashing out and forcing the two people that loved him unconditionally away from him and towards death.

This was the finial straw for Alex and he went through the rest of his life in standby mode until he went to  the hospital to get his check up which concluded that he had stomach cancer that was spreading at a rapid pace through out the rest of his body, the doctors gave him just over a year to live, Alex just laughed at that and said "A year? That means I will be dead in 6 months max". 

Months passed with no signs of him recovering, the illness was getting worse and he was now unable to move without assistance. Alone except when a nurse came to check his condition, Alex began to contemplate taking his own life. He changed his will so that his savings would go to charity and decided enough was enough.

As he was considering ending his life, a mysterious app appeared on his phone and it activated itself. It asked him one question. "Are you fed up of what this world has given you?"   Alex looked at his phone a little surprised but clicked yes out of instinct, the next question threw him off a little bit as phoned asked"Would you like to go to another world far from here?"  Alex laughed and thought 'Soon I will be in hell anyway, why not click yes for fun' He then pressed the yes button and the screen then took a picture of his face and said" Please wait a few seconds while the system applies your face to the character creations screen"

"Ah so its just a game huh, might as well give the developers an extra character in the database before I end things." "Player please select a name to use in the new world" Alex just entered his first name, then confirmed it again. "The player will be known as Alexander in the new world, please select or create a new race to play as in the new world." 

Alex scrolled between the races under the humanoid tab and was torn between a Giant who specialised in resisting damage and general tanking and a Mystic Elf who specialised in magic. He then remembered that it didn't matter as he wasn't actually going to play the games so he used 10 out of his 150 skill points of his character to fuse the two races to create a new race known as the Orcs. He checked out their racial traits out of interest before going on, the Orcs specialised in both being an agreesive front line trooper and using a unique school of magic called the Berserk arts.

Alex selected yes and made the app assign the rest of his skill points in the recommended areas for his character. "The character has been created, the player will be moved  into the realm of the Warring Kingdoms now." Alex looked at his phone and tried to turn it off as far as he was concerned he was done with it however the phone wouldn't turn off. He thought that the app had broken his phone so he just left as it was and wheeled himself closer  to the edge of the building.

He rammed his wheelchair over the edge of the building, as he fell his phone said" Transferring player now, prepare for a new world when you awaken" As the words travelled through the air, Alex hit the ground and everything went black....

Firstly, I want to say That I have permission form the previous writer of the Warring Kingdoms novel to use both his opening two chapters and the story in general. 

Now onto my take of the world, Orcs are a long dead species, they have been driven to the far corners of the planet due to the fear of their military might. 

One night, a Mysterious Orc arrives at one of the small tribes south of the kingdom of Ayusketsa, he assumes control of the tribe using never before seen magic arts, the Beserker Arts.

Deciding to lead this tribe to become the strongest Kingdom in existence, Alex sets out  to forge a kingdom that will stand the test of time.

When Alex was diagnosed with cancer his belief in the world plummeted to extremely low levels, he had to deal with the illness alone. His wife left him as soon as he told her the news, saying that if he was unable to provide for her then there was no point in them being together. The rest of his family had outcast him form a young age, he had been seen as a sign of bad luck ever since his mother passed away in childbirth.  His father turned to alcoholism when his wife died and he would often neglect and beat Alex. 

Alex finally got a break when a young couple reported his father to social services and offered to look after the young boy in their home instead. His life in their home was better than at his father's however he was still an outcast in school and this carried on all the way to college. He finally got his first girlfriend while in college however the relationship didn't last long as Alex found her cheating on him with one of his few friends. 

Like all good things that happened to Alex, his relationship with the couple who adopted broke down after he was cheated on. He shut them out and became aggressive when dealing with those around him, the couple were close to giving up on him when they decided to go on a short holiday to think things over and before they could return, they were killed in a car crash. Alex blamed him self for their deaths, he felt as if he weakness lead him to lashing out and forcing the two people that loved him unconditionally away from him and towards death.

This was the finial straw for Alex and he went through the rest of his life in standby mode until he went to  the hospital to get his check up which concluded that he had stomach cancer that was spreading at a rapid pace through out the rest of his body, the doctors gave him just over a year to live, Alex just laughed at that and said "A year? That means I will be dead in 6 months max". 

Months passed with no signs of him recovering, the illness was getting worse and he was now unable to move without assistance. Alone except when a nurse came to check his condition, Alex began to contemplate taking his own life. He changed his will so that his savings would go to charity and decided enough was enough.

As he was considering ending his life, a mysterious app appeared on his phone and it activated itself. It asked him one question. "Are you fed up of what this world has given you?"   Alex looked at his phone a little surprised but clicked yes out of instinct, the next question threw him off a little bit as phoned asked"Would you like to go to another world far from here?"  Alex laughed and thought 'Soon I will be in hell anyway, why not click yes for fun' He then pressed the yes button and the screen then took a picture of his face and said" Please wait a few seconds while the system applies your face to the character creations screen"

"Ah so its just a game huh, might as well give the developers an extra character in the database before I end things." "Player please select a name to use in the new world" Alex just entered his first name, then confirmed it again. "The player will be known as Alexander in the new world, please select or create a new race to play as in the new world." 

Alex scrolled between the races under the humanoid tab and was torn between a Wood Elf who specialised in being a hunter and a Mystic Elf who specialised in magic. He then remembered that it didn't matter as he wasn't actually going to play the games so he used 10 out of his 150 skill points of his character to fuse the two races to create a new race known as the Dark Elves. He checked out their racial traits out of interest before going on, the Dark Elves specialised in both being a hunter and using dark magics, a unique spell type just for them.

This is a revival of my old novel, after I left it for a while I have decided to rewrite some sections of the original.

Jaune sighed, scratching his head silently. He had just figured out that his scroll was compromised. It was most likely a program that latched onto his scroll from a website he had visited in the past. Oddly enough, it hadn't shown itself nor was it detected when he ran his antivirus software, yesterday.

The antivirus software he had was was top of the notch. He paid a good buck for it too which meant that whatever the virus that had infected his scroll was, it was very, very advanced. Certainly more than what his scroll's capabilities could handle.

Jaune paused for a moment. He frowned, the next. 

His eyes scanned his scroll once again. The notification was still there, taunting him to click it. The virus that infected his scroll was odd. Was it a direct action virus or some type of polymorphic virus software? 

No... it wasn't.

Its actions of randomly installing an app onto his phone was... well... it wasn't what viruses did. Period. Viruses tended to screw up programs or even boot up regular programs by ruining their script and although some viruses could indeed install programs and apps, it was impossible for one to latch onto his scroll via the CCT network.

Actually, now that Jaune thought of it very clearly, it was practically impossible to attach viruses onto the CCT network and cause them to latch onto unsuspecting scrolls.


The main reason is due to the fact that those types could be discovered easily by the CCT network. It's software was literally one of the most advanced technologies that are available on the planet, after all.

Heck, the only way to install those kinds of viruses were to upload them using a hard drive of some sort and physically connect it.

So someone installed it onto Jaune's phone via a hard drive or hardware of some sort.

But that begged the question.

Who could have installed the program onto Jaune's scroll without him noticing. He held his scroll with him the entire day yesterday as well as the day before.

And before that...

He had rebooted his scroll and changed its contact details.

It was practically a different scroll from before.

Taking all of the situations into consideration... there wouldn't be any chance at all for anyone to touch his scroll.

Jaune felt a slight amount of bewilderment at this. Was he wrong? Was it truly an update of some sort?

Jaune curiosity somehow drowned out the logical side of his brain. His finger hovered over the Click <here> button.

Hesitating no more, he pressed it.

As he did so however, he flinched slightly, expecting the phone to fry or do something similar. Instead something entirely different appeared.

Well... this is certainly unexpected. 

The app was still something that seemed pompous. It was really weird. Whoever created this was truly some type of narcissistic character.

Jaune chose to ignore the app's current arrogant words and clicked on the button to show his character sheet.

Well shit. This is... what in the world is this?

The app is defining my characteristics in numerical form. Is this some type of game? Seems like it's literally showing me my character sheet.

The absolute threshold of everything that my body can achieve is being quantified in a set of numerical values?

Also, what in the world was Psychic Force and Mana?

The corners of Jaune's mouth twitched uncomfortably into the form of a smile. It was just that the app that had automatically downloaded was really strange.

It didn't seem like a virus that was causing any harm to his phone so Jaune could probably safely assume that it was well... safe. Ish.

Though, what set of some warning bells in his head was the fact that the app seemed to somehow be tailored specifically to him.

It knew his name and oddly enough if Jaune were to truly think about his current physical capabilities, the app really seemed like it was portraying very accurate information.

If it was a virus that targeted a person, it was easy enough to find out the user's personal information from spyware.

However...

Jaune's antivirus software truly was one of the best ones out there. Why would a world class virus be specifically tailored to take down his phone?

It just made no sense.

Jaune frowned for a moment had had to finally come to a conclusion. Something else was at work here and it definitely wasn't a virus.

"Sigh. This is getting me nowhere." Jaune exclaimed in slight exasperation. 

If the virus or whatever it was, was going to cause problems, he would deal with it later because right now...

He was about to be late for class.

Pyrrha clock currently showed that the time was well over 2 minutes past nine, 9.02, to be exact. Miss Goodwitch was certain to harp on his case if he was to be any later. Good thing, he had paid attention to the time or things would have been pretty dicey.

Jaune rushed out of his room and made his way over to the combat locker rooms. Arriving there, he noticed that a few students were also grabbing their gear. Seeing as this was still the first week of beacon, they, like him must not have gotten used to the time.

It was just the day before yesterday that initiation had just ended. Jaune could very much say that his admission was entirely governed by absolute luck. Jaune eyes darkened slightly, remembering what would could have happened if Pyrrha hadn't caught him.

It wouldn't be pretty, to say the least

Jaune snapped himself from his morbid thoughts, realizing that he still hadn't taken out his weapon. Quickly, he ran over and punched in his locker combination.

He retrieved his weapon and made his way over to the fighting arena.

Fortunately, Goodwitch herself had just arrived though Jaune could see that she seemed slightly displeased at his almost tardiness.

"Arc, you were almost late." She called out.

"Ah, sorry ma'am. I-"

"Do not apologize. Like I said, you were 'almost' late. You were still on time, all things considering. Why apologize for being on time?"

"Oh... yeah. Erm, thanks I guess." Jaune looked slightly relieved at her words. He almost swore that he actually saw a hint of a smile on her face.

Soon, Jaune made his way over towards the bleachers where Pyrrha waved her hand to signify her saving him a spot.

"Did you get everything you needed Jaune?" Pyrrha asked, looking curious.

"Yep. Thanks for saving me a seat."

"No problem. We are teammates, after all. Why wouldn't I?"

"Teammates huh? I guess I've gotta get used to that. Thank you Pyrrha." Jaune gave a grateful look at Pyrrha.

She smiled back at him, a hint of red coloring her cheeks. Before he could examine it much more, however, she turned her head forwards, hiding her face from his view.

Jaune followed her line of sight to see Goodwitch press a button on her scroll. It was the randomizer that decided which students would be pitted against each other.

This system was only used during the first week before rankings were given to each students and those with similar rankings would fight to improve their combat capabilities faster.

After all, if a strong student were to keep fighting a weak one, it was possible that although the weak one would improve, the strong one would instead stay stagnant because their prowess would not be challenged.

This was the main reason for rankings in combat class.

Up on the main screen of the classroom, names and pictures associated to them scrolled through at high speed before slowly slowing down.

In the end, two names popped from the list.

Jaune Arc vs Yang Xiao Long.

Jaune Arc's scroll pings one day while he was playing a game on it. A new app had shown up from nowhere.

At first Jaune believed that his scroll had been hacked but soon he realized that the App, the Empyrean App was far more than it seemed at face value.

The atmosphere in the Room 413 turned curious. Ah Li was Lan Dong's best friend, so he naturally would not help the Haunted House scare Lan Dong. Therefore, he probably really did see a real ghost earlier.
However, were there actual ghosts in the world? Liu Gang shook his head to chase this unrealistic thought out of his mind. He did not believe Ah Li's words and picked the phone up from the ground.
"A few years ago, I saw a similar app on the app store. It can add scary pictures into normal photographs. Many people used it to prank their friends and families." The camera was still on, and Liu Gang aimed it at Lan Dong. There was nothing on Lan Dong's neck, but instead, the wall behind him was a bit strange. The human-shaped stain pinned to the wall seemed to be moving.
"There is nothing around your neck." Liu Gang showed everyone. "It's all a lie."
"Brother Gang, I've used that app you mentioned, but it has been taken off most app store. Do you know why that is the case?" For some reason, Xiao Chun had a bad impression of Liu Gang. Perhaps she disliked this kind of slippery old man who liked to act and postulate.
"Why?"
"Because someone really saw an actual ghost through that app. Those kinds of reason naturally wouldn't be broadcasted by the app store, but a personal friend of mine experienced it." Xiao Chun glanced at the camera. "Brother Gang, I know that you do not believe in ghosts. That is your freedom. But you have to respect them, especially… in a place like this."
"Girly, you're quite young, but you sure have a tongue on you." Liu Gang did not think much of this.
"Our relationship is not close enough for you to call me girly." Xiao Chun was a sensitive person. She did not like to speak, but someone like her would sense the smallest change around her. Ever since they entered this Haunted House, she had noticed that everyone's emotions had been purposely led a certain way; the darker side of their personality had been elicited. The Haunted House was like a maze that made them sink deeper and deeper. "When we were outside the Haunted House, everyone was fine. How come it changed when we came in here? Is it due to the background music, or is the scenario itself too suffocating?"
Xiao Chun did not know how to comment on a Haunted House like this. It was good that those who were suppressed for too long in real life could go to the Haunted House to release themselves and return to their most original self in this scary underground place. Then, they could pick up their masks and continue working hard at life after they left this place. The bad part was that the process of transmutation would definitely be filled with screams and terror.
"Supernatural app?" The people in the room were arguing. Lan Dong touched his neck and knelt on the bed. "Based on what Ah Li said, I did feel some chilling pain around my neck like a pair of invisible hands were trying to pull out my head, but when Brother Gang shone the phone at me, the feeling disappeared."
"There aren't real ghosts, right?" Muscle whispered. He was a professional cameraman. Under normal circumstances, he would not comment during shooting unless he could not help it.
"I don't know whether there are actual ghosts in this world, but I am sure that there is someone acting as a ghost here. Perhaps he is laughing behind the camera at this moment." Lan Dong looked at the corner of the room. "He is waiting for us to make a fool of ourselves, but I will not allow that to happen."
Lan Dong jumped down from the bed. "Let's go, we've obtained the key to most rooms in this Haunted House. We only need to open the rooms one by one, and eventually, we will find the exit."
"We're stopping the investigation? I've looked at the phone, and there seems to be a case of school bullying in this dormitory. The bullied boy is called Lin Sisi, and he should be the owner of the phone."
"Ah Li, we're looking for the art club. Don't get disturbed by unrelated things." Lan Dong's face was stern.
"But I just looked at the phone. There were a few messages inside that were related to the art club." Ah Li activated Lin Sisi's phone and opened the messages.
"Sender, Mr. Bai—Lin Sisi, from today onward, you will stay in Room 413. Befriend your classmates and do not disappoint your parents."
"Sender, The Painter—Lin Sisi, why do you hide a knife under your pillow? Do you know you have the habit of sleepwalking?"
"Sender, The Painter—Lin Sisi, what is your favorite color? Deep red? Or dark red?"
"Sender, The Painter—Lin Sisi, I have seen your painting. Welcome to the art club."
Ah Li showed everyone the messages. "This Lin Sisi is a member of the art club. We can find several clues from their messages. The president of the art club should be the Painter, and this club is not a simple hobby club. They are probably a group of madmen. I have a feeling that the quest that we drew is not as simple as it seemed."
"You're overthinking things." Before hearing what Ah Li had to say, Lan Dong cut him off. "The mission has been drawn, and that is a fact. The most imminent task now is to find the art club within the time limit."
"Wait a minute!" Ah Li did not follow Lan Dong out the room. He pulled off Lin Sisi's bedsheet and opened Lin Sisi's armoire. He finally found a handmade, wooden box in the bottom drawer. "Lin Sisi is a member of the art club, so there might be an oil painting hidden in his room."
The wooden box that Ah Li found was similar to the wooden box from which they had drawn their quest, so they should have been made by the same person. Opening the lid, a scent of blood drifted into their nostrils. A folded oil painting had been brusquely shoved into the box.
"Such folds damage a painting a lot. Never mind, the boss probably doesn't know how to appreciate art. This painting is probably just a prop that is completely replaceable." Liu Gang opened the painting to take a look. Even though they had no sense of art, they were stunned by the painting. In the inverted painting, the red and white formed a great contrast and pulled at their hearts. It was unclear what the material of the canvas was, but it was cold to the touch. When the canvas was fully spread out, the folds on it slowly recovered on their own like human skin that would close up and heal after it had been cut.
"Ah Li, well done." Liu Gang's group had been in the Haunted House for ten minutes, and they had finally found their first painting.
"Let's go. We still need to find twelve oil paintings." Lan Dong left the room without turning around.
Ah Li carefully placed the painting back into the box. When he closed the lid, the image of Lin Sisi being beaten up appeared in his mind. The thin boy pleaded for help, but no one answered him. With a shiver, Ah Li looked around. "Please don't come for me. I'm just an errand boy."
His eyes moved around, and when he saw the wall, Ah Li was startled again. "How come one of the stains has gone missing? I remember Brother Dong sitting there earlier."
He had a bad feeling, so he took out Lin Sisi's phone to aim at Lan Dong. Everything about the man looked normal, but his shadow was conspicuously tilted to the side. "Nothing is following him. Looks like I've been overthinking things like he said."


The hearse with the weird odor slowed to a stop before the entrance. The sound of pebbles could be heard bouncing on the ceiling. There were footsteps coming from the corridor, and there seemed to be someone sawing next door. The door knob to the room rattled slightly, and the faucet in the bathroom kept dripping even though it had been screwed shut. There was a rubber ball that rolled on its own underneath the bed. Wet footsteps started to surface one after another on the floor. 
At 3 am, Chen Ge held a cleaver in his hand as he hid beside the room heater. The call he was trying to make was finally answered. "Landlord, is this what you meant by 'the house can be a little crowded at night'‽"
