The writing engraved on the frame of the mirror is supposedly in a foreign and probably dead language, but if you look closely it says “I show not your face but your heart's desire” backwards, with the spaces rearranged.

The mirror shows the most desperate desire of a person's heart, a vision that has been known to drive men mad.

But have you heard of the Mirror of Noitcelfer? Said to be created at the same time as the Hallows, the mirror has never been seen but stories warn of the power it holds.

Said to be an dark archaic mirror that can change forms, the tales caution of how it taints even the purest of hearts and turns them cold. Its original form is said to be encircled by a frame of threadlike strands of silver, interlaced together in a floral arrangement, with places in the polished glass surface blemished black.

Upon looking at the clothes that were not very familiar into his liking, he heard the gentle shutting of the door that ensued from the grip of his mother's hand onto the knob at front, a sound that something he had never chosen to bother because he knew he was going too be late and all, and all he could do was to look towards the clothes and shoes he was about to wear, and it all had the same color right beside the other. 

"What's with the blue?" he asked himself as he walked towards the side of the bed and towards the window as he was ought to close it as well as the blinds resting beside the top of the window frame, with one slight step in front of the other. After stepping his left foot, he could feel the difference from the very first step he had taken above the Britain streets: it was the wound right beneath his right sole that he was really thinking really of, and it felt like his sleep had made such a very nice cure, and he was surprised. 

And then he remembered about his dream as he reached the side of his bed, where he felt the hand-like touches reaching his back of his head down to the behinds of his heels. And the plateau followed the thoughts of his eyes, and the cliff right below the existence of his feet and the cliff falling around the side of his tears then followed, and what was underneath the cliff's foot: the swamps, wicked crooked trees, and the man in white; his tripping. It was the ensued laceration beneath his sole, and with his bare foot touching the face of the wood-adorned floor, he felt none.
	The side of his head then turned towards the window as his thoughts were busy thinking and talking about the whereabouts of the man in white; the child, perhaps. 

He felt futile as he started to walk very nicely with both of his feet quite well thinking about the different past scenarios running across the middle of his existence, and then he reached for the windows with his hands stretched straight away from his chest while he was looking across the Bri-tain streets, and there he saw carriages and buses traver-sing their very distances and from his very view, he could nothing but of crooked bowed trees looking at his very place, and he felt he was not alone. 

He never was. But he flinched and then proceeded into closing the windows as his hands were holding the handle from the inside of the windows, and his chests, his body, seemed to attract some of the passers-by walking along the streets. Their eyes seemed to be locked tight of his presence but he never bothered into talking and the windows went quic-kly closed, and the blinds followed. He gently reached for the side of the window's frame and then untangled the blinds and then it went down at the very bottom of the window's frame, and the light coming from the outside of the sun's eyes had diminished, and then the room went a little darker than it was, and Micael started to remove his towel wrapped around his clean waist but he had no assurance that the inn's door was locked very unlikely. But he had never winced and went on into wearing his clothes with such speeds. He then loosened his towel wrapped around his waist, and the towel started to lie above the wooden floor. 

He was butt-naked, but he never bothered.

He went on into wearing the black underpants of which he saw resting above the pillow, and then he quickly wore it from one leg into another with such care, forgetting that one of his heels had heeled completely upon itself.

And soon, his crotch was hidden behind his underpants, and he had removed the worries resting inside his head and then went on into grabbing the socks with his hands, and he rested his butt above the side of the bed's mattress and he reached for his feet, and he wore the socks into his feet until his heels were hidden right below the fabric, and the socks were hugging the whole. He then stood up quickly with his feet and then grabbed the short-sleeved dark blue dress shirt, a very plain one and with an indistinguishable logo at the right side of the shirt, right above the square pocket, and then looked at the very front of the mirror at the face of the bed's feet, placing the hung dress shirt afront of his chest, and it seemed to match perfectly, and he started to unbutton the shirt from one button into another until there was no buttoned button at all, and there he wore it while looking at the very front of the mirror, seeing his hair of from the very mirror while some strands were lying very gracefully afront of his forehead, and one off his arms started to go through the armhole of the shirt. 

One after another. 

And his eyes went back on the mirror when his shoulders started to feel the light weight of the dress shirt, and there he could see himself looking good about afront, and their he looked satisfied as he was smiling.

"Aedri, hope you're looking good as mine," his voice followed his eyes as he was looking at the mirror with his eyes straight from his face, and then as quick as the wind blows, he then buttoned the shirt, one by one, until there was no button at all to work with, and he could feel that the dress shirt had already hugged the whole of his body, and with his eyes looking at the mirror, he felt quite satis-fied. With naked legs, he stood above the wooden floor of the inn's room with his seemingly well soles, of which he had never given a lot of attention from the very beginning and then grabbed the black trousers lying above the bed sheet, and there. Micael went on into unzipping the jeans and then wearing them completely, one after another, and Micael stood straight from his neck down to the bottom of his spine, and with trousers he stood. 

He then zipped the jeans up and buttoned the button right about the very top of the trousers and then wrapped his waist with a black belt that was pre-placed on the trousers' waist, tucking the blue-to-black short-sleeved dress shirt. He then looked again afront of the mirror with his eyes, though blurred and looked foggy from his stand, and his eyes were none the worse. With blurred eyes, he could still see the figure of his against the mirror. With tucked dress shirt, belted black trousers and plain black socks hugging the envelope of his feet, he then rested his butt right above of the bed's sides and then his back started to arch and then he leaned towards his feet. With open hands, he grabbed for the dress shoes of which he could barely see right below of the bed's curtain, and his hands were reaching afar from what he could think of. 

"Where is it?" he whispered unto himself as one of his hands were reaching right below the bed's frame. His fingers seemed to walk. Five of them, and the littlest of thuds could be heard by the ears of his palm. He could feel the presence of the dress shoes, but his fingers he knew they were still from afar. A mere inch, his fingers presumed, though their eyes could never see even with the brightest of daylight.

The figure reflected in the quaint bronze mirror is familiar and strange. She looked at her, but she was much older, more prettier, her expression on her face was cold and solemn, and her eyes seemed to be crushed by ice, and the chill permeated.
The rouge pollen on the platform and the Ling Luo Zhucui on the bed, but she didn't even look at it, she put her long hair on top of her head, and then tied her silver cloud helmet and silver armor. A heroic female general appeared in the mirror.
She is going to do something, something she has been doing from birth, without remorse or hesitation.

 She came to the battlefield filled with gunpowder, thousands of iron hoofs, like a dark cloud. Opponents raised a huge flag high, with gorgeous and weird patterns, hunting in the wind. The cold horn sounded as if many people were crying. From all directions, the big drum made of pigpo and dragon skin beat the sky and shook the earth, like a raindrop, and the whole earth was shaking.
 The sky fire collapsed, and masses fell from the sky. Following the sky fire, there was a dense army. They came from the sky, came from another cycle, crossed the wide Tianhe, and repeatedly violated the sacred territory. She leaped over a flying horse, spread its wings and flew over her head, kicking her silver cloud helmet over, and three thousand green silk waterfalls poured down like a waterfall. Immediately, the general had three heads and six arms, and the whole body was burning.
She opened her mouth to bite a lock of disobedient hair, and turned her back with a sword.

 She opened her eyes suddenly, and she saw the blue gauze tent, and there were two or three tearful and concerned faces.

It felt really different, this was the first time Joanne had asked me for help. Something she was clearly very passionate about. I furrowed my brows and brushed my hair back. I had been sitting on her bed while she sat across from me on her little grey sofa. Her knees to her chest and her arms placed neatly on the armrests. I was a bit afraid, on edge. Being alone in her room without her brother. My teeth scraped my bottom lip. 
 "Tomorrow?" I asked.

"Tomorrow what?" She replied, stretching her legs out from their previous position. 

"I tell him, or when?" My eyes followed her as she stood up and walked over to me. My heart was beating. 

 She was wearing a tank top and red sweats. Her socks were two different colors and lengths. My cheeks were flustered. "Well, yes… The sooner the better I hope so that he doesn't walk around thinking he has the world in his hands. He will carry your dilemma for a while." 

"MY dilemma?!" My voice was raised and equally as confused. 

Joanne panicked. "Shut up!" She covered my mouth. "You know what I mean, you're not dumb."
 My eyes looked into hers and she tried her best to suppress a smile. Her hand moved from my mouth to my thighs and I quivered in fear. 

 Thoughts of my mother raced in my head. How disgusted she would be with me and how I would have to marry Joanne in order to save her soul as well. 
 
Joanne didn't stop, She pushed me onto the bed and climbed over me. Has she been always attracted to me as well? Or is this in the heat of the moment?

Her lips kissed mine and I forced my eyes shut. I was not comfortable what so ever, but I didn't stop her. It was like she was unaware, which was strange for Joanne considering how progressive she was. Her hands felt up my thigh and my throat tightened. "Stop.." I jolted away, pushing her back slightly. "I can't, I really like you, Joanne." My heart raced too. "I wish I could- WE could- but my mom. And GOD- imagine God too here, Joanne."
  
Her eyes searched mine and her pupils constricted. She quickly stood back up. "You're right, I'm sorry, Caesar. I'm sorry, I didn't want to push you." Then her breath started to pick up in speed. "You're really that religious huh, you can never think for yourself." 

I got up off the bed and turned towards the window. I did not want to continue in her presence. It was so demeaning, I would love to treat her the way she wants to be. It's just not me, My mother raised me and I am her son.

 "I'll see you tomorrow." I finally said and began to go out the same way I came in. She lightly brushed my back as she guided me down the wooden frame. The heat from my body began to wear off and my mind slowly cleared up. My shoes had just enough grip to keep them from sliding off the frame but the frame seemed like it was giving out. Squeaking and squealing came from the worn-out wood. My heart had a different kind of panic. My fingers clawed into the wood and I looked up at Joanne. That's when it finally broke. The wood under my left foot snapped, my right foot wasn't even on the frame and my weight was too much for the arms.
 Joanne watched me fall from her window, a loud and heavy thump came from me as I hit the ground with my back. I groaned. 
 "Oh my god! Caesar, Are you okay?!" She yelled with a quiet voice.  I held my breath, trying to keep my emotions in control; but a small tear fell from my increasingly watering eyes. My back was in immense pain, my shoulder blades took the brunt of the impacts and my neck was starting to get sore. I loved Joanne, I did not want to see soft or weak especially after rejecting her advances.
I contained myself though. "I'm good Jo- I just need to get home." And after a few minutes, I pulled myself up. Hunched over hoping I wasn't injuring my back a lot more. 
Clearly, I was not going to ride my bike back home, so I pushed it down the streets. Every step I took was more and more painful. My breath was hiccuping as I started crying a few feet away from my house. 
  Carefully, I climbed back in through the window and slid into the bed. I had never felt so much pain and I knew I was not doing the best for myself at the time. I was nervous and in shock and if I had done something, my mother would find out I had been sneaking out. 

   I laid on my side, controlling my breathing in order to quiet my crying. Am I sure I want to hide this? What if I broke my spine? If I really hurt my ribs or my shoulder blades? 
My phone lit up from inside my robe pocket and I pulled it out. 

Joanne: Hey are you okay!? 

Me: I thinkIam 

My typing was not spaced out correctly, It was touch and my hands were shaking from the pain. 

Joanne: are you going to tell your mom? 

Me: NoIdont want her to know I snuck out

Joanne: I'll come to see you tomorrow, I feel bad, I should've called the ambulance, that was a bad fall. 

Me: it is not that bad, I'm okay just a little sore

 I was very, very sore. 
  I dozed off a couple of times only to wake up every time I tried to move. The feeling was very, very painful and it felt like there was no way to describe it properly. I sobbed all night, thinking of how I could have hurt myself or even the embarrassment I put myself in front of Joanne. My stomach grumbled and My head ached. 

 How was i going to explain this to my mom? How was I going to get God to forgive my sinful actions? Was this a punishment from him?

My breath was the only thing I could control in the dark. 

"Caesar?" My mother's voice came from the door, then a knock. 

"Yes?"

"Can I come in?" She always came in to see me every morning. 

"No," I answered back quickly. I did not want her to see me, however, I looked. I knew she would touch me and hurt my back more. "Not today mum, please."

"That's strange, are you okay?" She began to push open the door.

"MOM! Please don't, not today!" I groaned. My eyes were squeezed together as I tried to withhold the pain. It stung up and down my body. I heard her say something in Spanish and then walk away. I sighed in relief. I pulled myself out of the bed and walked over to my full-sized mirror that leaned slanted against the wall. Slipping off my robe and pulling up my shirt, I turned my back towards the mirror. I was stunned at what I was looking at but ultimately it was something expected. A bruise down my upper back which was especially worse on my shoulder blades. I whimpered. 
  Saturday was today, I planned in my head a full day of rest. I did not have a problem with that, but with the consistency of our daily get-togethers; I was sure the twins would not be happy. There was a very good smell coming from outside my door and amusing enough, I knew it was my mother trying to lure me out of the room. 
I was generally afraid of showing some kind of pain or ache or issue in front of my mother. Who had an issue of coddling me too much. Whatever she made in the kitchen was very alluring and I was beginning to itch forward closer to the door.
 Pushing the door open, I made sure I was somewhat hiding the fact that I was injured. If I just rest and wait it out, the bruises will obviously go away. My mom turned around as she heard my footsteps down the hallway, a soft smirk across her caramel skin. I pulled myself up onto the stools placed next to the island of the kitchen. She placed a plate of my favourite breakfast in front of me. Surprisingly, she was an absurdly fast cook. The plate consisted of Huevo's Rancheros, bacon, sausage and toast. 
 I remembered what had happened yesterday with Joanne. Thinking about it gave me chills but it mostly gave me fear. Maybe i should have reciprocated, and that me choosing not to scared her off. I wouldn't know. Hopefully it didn't, because truthfully I do love her. 
 The smell was too much for my nose, I rubbed it. 

"Here have some sauce-" 

My eyes blink upwards, my mother looks at me in disbelief. I raise a brow in confusion. 

"You must have been really hungry..?" She continues and I look down at my plate. I basically inhaled my breakfast. 

I think of something to tell her. Trying to brush off the awkwardness and my confusion. "Yes, I didn't eat anything for dinner yesterday." 

"Okay… well you know we have snacks-" She coughs.

"I know, ama, I was just starving. I had a lot of homework to finish up yesterday."

About to graduate highschool, Caesar has appeared to have figured out his life. That was until he had an accident that has caused public outrage. Now with overwhelming insights onto his once private life, Caesar has to question human morality and his own ethics.


Keir barely took his eyes off me as he led me through a winding corridor filled with extraordinary fairy art. Sculptures of strange creatures writhed under the serene gazes of regal sidhe portraits which hung next to intricate tapestries portraying scenes of astounding beauty. Everything was perfect and shiny; not a hint of dust or a single scratch to be found. I felt like a stain that needed to be scrubbed away.
"Your mother's death was the most painful thing I've ever experienced," Keir said as he opened a door and led me into a magnificent room.
"For me as well," I murmured as I peered around me.
It was a circular room so I assumed he'd brought me into one of the towers. As large as my entire house back in the Human Realm, it had polished wood floors with luxurious silk carpets laid precisely across them. The carpets were woven with intricate designs of cream and silver. A rather poor color choice for something meant to be walked on. They looked as if they'd never seen the sole of a shoe before; lustrous as a pearl.
Over one of the poorly-colored carpets, rested a massive four-poster bed made from the same stone as the castle. The posters were carved into swirls like a unicorn's horn and they curved in toward the center of the bed where they connected in a sharp, upwards point. Delicate trees grew from pots placed at the corners of the bed and their branches twined around the posters and up to the point where a mass of fluted pale green flowers hung. They bloomed all along the branches but the main collection was at that juncture and their weight caused them to droop down toward the bed.
"Night blooming jasmine," I whispered as I stepped forward.
"Someone told me you enjoyed the scent," Keir said from behind me.
The puka trotted past me and climbed up into the bed. She made a few testing circles; her gigantic paws sinking into the thick silver comforter. Then she curled up, gave a contented huff, and went right to sleep.
"I wonder who that was?" I teased as I shook my head at the passed-out puka, and Keir laughed.
To the right of the bed was a dressing table of polished white wood with a tall mirror in an elaborate silver frame rising up from its back. A matching chair with a high, padded back sat in front of the table and on the table was an assortment of crystal bottles, a silver handled comb, and a silver picture frame. I wandered over to the table and picked up the frame. In it was a picture of my mother; holding a laughing baby in her arms. She was smiling like I'd never seen her smile before; the sunlight turning pieces of her auburn hair into spun gold.
"Where was this taken?" I asked Keir without removing my eyes from my mother's face.
"San Francisco." Keir came up behind me and smiled sadly at the picture. He ran a fingertip over my mother's image. "In the park. It was the first time I met you."
"She looks so happy," I whispered.
"She was," he said. "So was I. I have many pictures of her if you'd like to see them. Pictures of you as well, which she gave to me over the years."
"Sure." I swallowed past the lump in my throat; wishing that I could have seen this side of my mother.
I replaced the picture frame and went back to surveying the room. Off to the side of the dressing table was a large fireplace and set in front of it were two loveseats made of the same wood as the table; both upholstered in lavender velvet. On the other side of the room was a large, rectangular dining table, again in that smooth, white wood, with a few chairs gathered around it. To the right of the table and the left of the bed, was an archway which opened onto a balcony.
The room was very bright, almost as bright as it was outdoors, and when I looked up, I saw why. The walls soared above me, ending in a domed ceiling; the very top of which was transparent. The transparent piece was actually lavender, but much clearer than the stones the rest of the castle was made of, so that the sunlight was barely tinted when it passed through. I could clearly see puffy white clouds beyond it, and I immediately wondered what it would look like at night.
"Is the room all right?" Keir asked from my elbow.
"All right? It's amazing." I swept a hand upward and laughed. "I've never had a skylight before but then I doubt there's anything remotely comparable to this on Earth."
"Well, I would hope not." He grinned hesitantly. "We Fey like to think that our architecture achievements supersedes that of humans in beauty and magic if not in sheer height."
"I don't think it's a good idea to build so high," I offered. "I don't like feeling the building I'm in sway in the breeze; it's disconcerting."
"Yes, but when you create things that tall, there comes a point where you must either sway or break." King Keir looked thoughtful. "Better to sway I think."
"Better to not build that high, to begin with." I smirked.
"Interesting." He cocked his head at me. "So, you'd rather stay closer to earth than have to bend to the will of the wind?"
"Yes, I guess so." I considered it. "Why is that interesting?"
"Royalty is never good at bending to the will of anyone or anything." Keir shrugged. "So, I'm glad the castle's height meets your standards and the room, your expectations. I had it decorated in a style I found appealing, but I hope you'll make it your own soon enough."
"It's beautiful as it is; I wouldn't change anything." I headed out to the balcony.
I needed to see again that I was really in Fairy; it kept feeling so surreal to me. Keir followed me out onto a wide expanse of that pretty lavender stone and over to a thick railing of carved pillars. I looked out across wandering hills and forests that stretched as far as I could see. Nothing else seemed to exist in the wilderness—it was only us—and I wondered how vast the Twilight Kingdom was and just how far away the Unseelie Kingdom resided.
In Fairy Geography class, I'd been taught that each of the main courts had immense kingdoms with magical pathways connecting them, just as there were pathways between the Human Realm and Fairy. The kingdoms were in the same realm but on different continents so the Fey used the paths to travel between them.
The Fairy Realm itself was layered over our world, and I'd been told America was somewhere between the courts; with the Seelie Kingdom laid over Europe and the Unseelie over Asia. Of course, it's not precise, but the fairy mounds of Europe lead to the Seelie Kingdom and those in Asia lead to the Unseelie so we just made the assumption. We'd known there were fairy mounds in America, but no human had ever been allowed through one, and we hadn't known where they connected to in Fairy. Now, I knew why; they led to the secret Twilight Kingdom.
"Why don't the Fey want humans to know about the Twilight Court?" I asked Keir.
"It was my decision," he said. "I didn't want to involve myself in human politics. I have enough here to deal with. I guess that's over now that I've revealed myself and my court to the Human Council."
"Probably." I looked back over the land. "So, Twilight is connected to America?"
"To most of the United States. If it's the nation you speak of and not the continents of North and South?" He asked, and I nodded. "Originally, there were no kingdoms or courts, just different types of fairies. Then a separation started and soon after, there was war. That was when the courts were formed and the land divided. Twilight sprang up between them—a natural barrier—as if Fairy herself was telling us to stop fighting."
"Between," I whispered.

The Sluagh has come for me and nothing stops them. The monsters of Fairy chitter and cackle and screech all around us while Tiernan holds me tightly, hiding us within his magic. My palms press against his chest, molding to his muscles and pulsing with his heartbeat. The terrifying sounds around us echo into silence but as I stare into his silver eyes I know the danger hasn't passed. This man—this fairy hunter—could tear apart my world.

Lucien made the jump from one balcony to the other with ease, landing on the balls of his feet and quickly caught himself. He took the free end of the clothesline and loosely hung from the metal railing across from the neighboring balcony. 

It was a worst case scenario exit strategy.  

He listened at the window, pressing his ear against it to detect any type of vibrations or sounds that someone with normal hearing wouldn’t pickup.

But there were no vibrations coming from the apartment; no sound, no hum from electronics or appliances, not even the hum of a lightbulb.

That wasn’t normal and something was not quite right here.

The glass was painted black, he could tell, and kept him from being able to see in. But it also kept anyone inside from seeing out.

That would work in his favor, possibly.

Lucien pulled a glass cutter from his inside jacket pocket and a small suction cup. Carefully he cut a hole in the glass then pulled the circle away and set it down on the balcony. He replaced the suction cup and glass cutter in his jacket pocket then pulled out a small telescoping pole with a mirror on it and used it to look into the apartment, staying to the side out of the line of sight of the hole.

If it were Lula doing recon, she would have simply kicked in the door. If it were Kita, he would have staked the unit out, for days if needed, before gaining entry.

Lucien was a bit more cautious and that is what made him the best at recon in the family.

The inside of the apartment was completely dark. The window had been painted black to keep prying eyes out, and that meant keeping out all light as well. Because of the darkness, it was impossible to see anything beyond the sun coming through the hole Lucien put in the window.

“Might as well make my presence known,” he said, holding his penlight next to the telescope in his other hand and a bright LED light illuminated the area. “Desk, chair, sleeping mat, and a hand generator for electricity. Interesting,” he mumbled, his attention going to the overflowing trash bins. “That is a lot of saline eye solution.” 

Lucien started to reach inside to unlock the window when the unmistakable smell of almonds carried on the air from the apartment.

“Oh no,” he groaned, using the mirror to look around the window frame and his eyes widened when he saw the softly glowing red numbers counting down. “Sh*t!” he hissed, dropping his tools and dove over the railing, grabbing the clothesline as he went moments before an explosion sent glass, cinderblock, and splintered wood flying away from the building.

Lucien raced headfirst towards the ground below, the clothesline in his hand burning through his tactical gloves as he tried to slow his descent with friction.

The momentum from the drop caused Lucien to swing across the back of the building and under the neighboring balcony. The clothesline snapped and he slammed down on the balcony and rolled across it before slamming back first into the metal railing, knocking the air from his lungs.

Lucien’s hands were bleeding from the burns running the length of his palms. The back of his head made contact with the unrelenting metal and split open; he’d need staples to close it, he suspected. His vision was blurry from his concussed state, lungs hurt and it was a struggle to breathe—most likely he had a broken rib or two—and his leg was searing.

Lucien struggled to pull himself up but collapsed again. “Will, can you hear me?” he choked, trying to stay conscious. “Mama? Chichi?” he whispered, peppering himself with blood.

His vision started to fail, the building started swaying, but that could have been from vertigo, and he slumped over as unconscious started to take him just as a second explosion shook the entire building.

Crackling in his ears caused Lucien to force his eyes open.

It was impossible to see through the dust and smoke filling the air. His mouth tasted of blood and sulfur, he had a collapsed lung on one side, he knew, broken ribs, a few broken fingers, and something was sticking out from his leg but he didn’t think it was a bone. Most likely he was impaled on something that was on the balcony. 

“Will?” Lucien gasped, trying to get in contact with the others. He needed to make sure his parents were okay, and that the little girl he stashed in Pan Jin’s apartment was kept safe from the explosion. “Chichi? Mama?” he stammered, tears staining his cheeks.

The crackling wasn’t normal, and it flooded him with fear that he made a mistake that cost his parents and that little girl their lives.

“Luci?” a soprano voice called out from the alley below.

“Yang Sun?” Lucien asked before choking on the blood flooding his throat.

“Scary lady! I found him!” the young girl yelled. “He’s on the second floor!”

Mauri ran as fast as he could, and without delay, he climbed up the building, using whatever he could find to hold on to. “Child, go get my wife so you can help her find the right unit,” he instructed, pulling himself over the railing of the balcony his son was sprawled out on. “Lucien?” he gasped, hurrying to him. “Son?” he shouted, shaking him.

“Chichi?” Lucien coughed, peppering them with blood, forcing his eyes open; he couldn’t hear. “Is Yang Sun and Mama okay?”

He nodded, pulling his tie free to use as a tourniquet for his son’s leg; there was a piece of wood from the window frame sticking out of it. 

“I messed up,” Lucien tried to explain. “I messed up, Chichi.”

Mauri pulled his son up into a sitting position to keep him breathing and from drowning in his own blood. “You did nothing wrong. The apartment was rigged to blow. Even a slamming door could have set it off! It was amateurish wiring and that is what caused it to go off. Not anything you did, Son.”

“I did something wrong,” Lucien repeated, not hearing his father nor did he see his moving lips. His eyes closed and head lolled forward. “I did something wrong. I am so sorry. I failed them, Chichi…” his words trailed off.

Mauri wrapped his jacket around his son and smacked his cheeks to keep him awake, but he was unresponsive. 

Lucien was going into shock and was losing a lot of blood. 

“Stay with me, Son. Please stay with me,” Mauri pleaded, tears staining his cheeks. “Come on, Luci. Stay with me. Please stay with me, Son,” he begged his unresponsive son, hugging him tight to his chest. “Stay with me. Please stay with me,” he pleaded before screaming when Lucien stopped breathing.

The next day, at a cafe located on the ground floor of an office building owned by the Widjaya Family. The cafe was seen full of employees who were taking their lunch break.
 
A young woman is sitting alone at a table by the window. Her slender fingers tapped the surface of the table as if to express her irritation. Lilia looks striking with sunglasses, a T-shirt, and denim pants that look casual. He watches the cafe door while drinking a glass of caramel macchiato.
 
Fifteen minutes had passed after their agreed meeting time, but Jean didn't show up either. Lilia frowned. Was that guy just playing with her ?!
 
While Lilia is grumbling about Jean, a man enters the cafe. The scrawny man was wearing a gray coat and glasses with a gold rim.
 
"Mr. Kenny!" The employees who were enjoying their coffee immediately greeted the man with great respect.
 
But Lilia only glanced at the man named Kenny for a moment before looking back at her cellphone. She considered calling Jean one more time, but the voice of a soft, polite man interrupted her thoughts.
 
"Excuse me, are you Miss Lilia?"
 
Lilia looked up and saw Kenny standing in front of her. Lilia nodded, "That's right, on my own. Do you have business with me? "
 
"Let me introduce myself. I'm Kenny Sadana, President Jean's assistant. He asked me to take you to his office upstairs. You can wait there until the meeting is over. " Kenny explained with a friendly smile. He was the exact opposite of his proud boss.
 
"OK." Lilia nodded and took off her sunglasses. "Sorry to trouble you, Mr. Kenny."
 
"No, no, it's not that troublesome. You can just call me Kenny. " Kenny said with a friendly smile.
 
Kenny escorted Lilia to Jean's office. The extremely cold air immediately greeted Lilia the moment she stepped into the room. Is the AC here broken? This room is too cold!
 
In just a few seconds Lilia started rubbing her hands together to keep them warm. The thin T-shirt she wore couldn't handle the cold.
 
But Kenny acted as if there was nothing wrong with this situation. After making sure Lilia was comfortably seated on the sofa, Kenny put a glass of water on the table. "Miss Lilia, please wait here. The meeting President Jean is participating in will be over soon. "
 
"Thank you." Lilia nodded. "Um ... the air conditioner in this room is too cold, can the temperature be increased?"
 
"We're sorry, but President Jean forbids us from touching anything in this room." Kenny politely refused his request.
 
Lilia can only nod in resignation. Kenny said goodbye before leaving the room. After a while, Lilia became bored and began to pay attention to the contents of the office.
 
The furniture in this room is made of solid wood and looks expensive. A large glass window on one side of the room made it easier for sunlight to enter, but at this point, the curtains were tightly closed. A large shelf filled with foreign language books covered the left wall. Overall, this office looks practical but elegant.
 
Lilia's gaze fell on Jean's desk. The surface of the table was covered by a neat pile of documents. A photo frame among the pile caught Lilia's attention.
 
Lilia couldn't imagine an arrogant man like Jean decorating her desk in photo frames. The frame is sky blue and looks childish. His curiosity emerged. Lilia turned towards the door and strained her ears. In this silent room, only the hum of the air conditioner could be heard. After confirming that the situation was safe, Lilia stood up and approached the table.
 
Three steps ... two steps ... one step ...
 
Lilia stopped in front of Jean's table and reached out to the simple-looking frame. Her slender fingers reached for the frame. He flipped the frame to see the photo inside.
 
"Eh?" For a moment, Lilia couldn't believe her eyes.
 
A young woman smiling gracefully looked back at him from the photo. The woman was wearing a dress that had become popular several years ago and was walking on the fashion show stage. The woman's face looked familiar — because it was the face Lilia always saw whenever she looked in the mirror. In other words, it was a photo of Lilia herself!
 
Before Lilia's mind could digest this fact, the office door swung open. Lilia jumped up and turned towards the door, causing her black hair to flick to the side like an open curtain.
 
The owner of the room walked in, draped his black coat over his arm. Jean was unbuttoning the top of his white shirt when he saw Lilia.
 
The two of them looked equally surprised.
 
Then Jean's gaze fell on the frame still in Lilia's hand and her eyes turned sharp.
 
Lilia gripped the frame tighter as she asked in a cold tone, "Why did you save my photo?"

My dream will come true! Soon I will be arriving in Italy and appearing at the Milan Fashion Show! My photos will be published in all fashion magazines around the world!

In the end, all my sacrifices and hard work will not be in vain!

But why my dream become a nightmare!? Daddy suddenly invited me to meet a young CEO who was really arrogant. He said, for the sake of my family's business, I will become his future wife of the young CEO!

Kai estimated that he was an hour away from the manor, but he had a feeling of something that he had forgotten. Kai tried to recall what he had forgotten when it hit him.

He had forgotten to get the second Horcrux, Marvolo Gaunt's Ring. Kai stopped the large van which carried the blood and money and parked it at the roadside. At the same time, he took off his clothes because he didn't want to destroy them.

He knew that the Ring was hidden under the floorboards in the Gaunt shack. The gaunt shack just outside of the Little Hangleton village that was in Yorkshire. Kai then dashed to the north while estimating that it would take him around ten minutes to get there.

Once Kai got to the supposed location of the shack, he only saw trees. Kai understood that there was a powerful spell hiding the shack from prying eyes. Kai activated his runic eyes and what he saw instead was a mist covering the area 100 meters from him. Kai couldn't see anything apart from the mist.

Before Kai walked into the mist that Kai assumed was the shack, he first thought of what spells there would be protecting the Horcrux. The first would be the spell that hid the location, a type of illusion. Then there would be a type of repelling charm that would act as a forcefield. The third would be a physical curse that would cause pain and could maim and cripple the invader. The fourth would be a type of mental curse that would cause the invader great pain. If the invader did not manage to overcome the curse, his brain would be damaged, and he would be put into a vegetative state, where even if the invader was found on time(which was highly unlikely) he would never recover.

And the last and most deadly curse was the rotting curse and although it wasn't mentioned in a very detailed manner in the book. Kai believed that the curse had something to do with time acceleration, which Kai theorized wouldn't hurt him due to his immortality.

Once Kai went over the threats he tried to come up with ways to nullify the spells. The first spell which merely was an illusion and Kai already found a way to bypass the spell, by utilising his runic eyes.

The second could be bypassed by pure physical fore Kai would need to simply put more force into his punches that the repelling charm could reflect and forcefully enter.

The third curse which caused physical pain wouldn't be able to bypass his physical defences and therefore become useless.

The fourth curse Kai wasn't so sure about. It could either destroy his brain and although his brain could regenerate Kai wasn't sure if he would still have his memories. And although his subconscious' representation told him that his memories were stored inside his soul, Kai didn't want to take any chances.

Kai didn't know what to do. In the end, Kai decided that he would just barge in and deal with the spell when he reached that point.

Kai thought about the fifth spell- the rotting curse. Kai thought about what the actual definition of rotting is. Kai thought that the definition of rot is to decline in all functions until an object is no more. (Dictionary definition: to become decomposed). The main reason the object rots is because it declines with time, and due to Kai being immortal he didn't have to worry about his body declining by any time-related causes.

After Kai analysed the curses and spells he felt ready to enter and at the same time he turned off his runic eyes because they drained too much energy. When Kai put his first step into the mist he felt something faintly try to cause him to change his movements and turn around, but this time the illusion didn't work on Kai. After Kai broke past the illusion he saw a small, dilapidated and filthy wooden shack hidden in the trees. Kai thought that if you weren't actively trying to find the shack you would subconsciously skip over the shack.

When Kai tried to enter by opening the almost broken down wooden door he felt something throw him away. Kai found himself flying from the repulsion that the door had transmitted to him. 

Kai moved his body so that he would land on his feet and thought to himself [ I'm like a cat, we both always land on our feet]. This time Kai utilised half of his strength when he pushed the handle and felt the force try to repel him again, but this time it failed. After two seconds of the two powerful opposing forces ramming against each other, the repelling barrier gave away and shattered.
Kai finally pushed the door and felt the uneven rotting wood that caused him to feel disgusted. Kai walked past the entrance and entered the small shack. He saw rotting broken wood that made up the house all around him. 

He thought that if the house wasn't supported by magic it would have collapsed already. Kai then examined the living room and saw a rickety wooden chair, a silver and green flea ridden carpet and lots of dust. Kai reckoned that if he wasn't a vampire and didn't have to breathe then he would have had a coughing fit from the large amounts of dust.

Kai walked slowly to the study and looked inside. As soon as Kai's body entered the study he felt many sharp gusts of air resembling the sharpest swords attack his body. Kai estimated that each gust carried the force of 500 kilograms of force, while there were hundreds of gusts of wind.

Kai stood his ground and didn't let himself be moved out of the room, because he estimated from his previous experience with the door that he would have to experience the same attack again once he was removed from the study. After Kai withstood the spell, he survived the room. 

Inside the room, there was a fancy looking wooden table or at least Kai assumed that it had been fancy because now it was run down ad the legs were rotting.

There was a painting of an old man with the edges of the painting starting to get ruined by the small rips at the corners. On the right side of the room, Kai saw a full body sized mirror that had accumulated lots of dust. The frame of the mirror was carved with lots of well-sculpted snakes. Kai assumed that the mirror was an heirloom.

Apart from these objects the rest of the room was bare. Kai walked towards the mirror and stood in front of it and sucked in a deep breath, then blew all the dust away from inside his mouth and the mirror.

 He then started to admire his appearance, because this was the first time he had ever seen his true appearance in front of a mirror. At the same time, he thought that the legends were vampires don't have a reflection were simply stupid, it was obvious that it wasn't true at least not for his type of vampire.

Kai then saw the magical energy move towards the mirror that started to cause the snakes carved on the mirror to awaken. Kai thought to himself that it was perfect timing as he could test out his Parseltongue ability.

Kai counted approximately 11 snakes that came to life. The snakes started to hiss at him and Kai found out that he couldn't understand them. Kai tried to change his mindset from a vampire's (or human being) to that of a snake. Once he did he found out that he could miraculously understand them. They kept on repeating the same sentence over and overkill the invader. Kai assumed that the snakes were like golems or were golems.
 Kai simply waved his hand in a grand gesture with all his strength and the air pressure generated from his movements crushed the surrounding area, including the snakes.

The aftermath of Kai's actions resulted in the room being destroyed, and not the house because of the powerful enchantments protecting the house.

Kai looked around the remains of the room and saw different pieces of wood lying around the ground. In the middle of the room lay a fist-sized gold chest with lots of precious jewels embeded onto it.

Kai knew that the chest had the mental spell on it while inside the chest resided the Horcrux. Kai braced himself and started thinking about a command word to eject himself from the mental world, as he memorized the word "Vampire". 

(Author note- So, he basically repeated the word vampire over and over until he remembered that the word vampire was linked to real life and not a fantasy world inside the spell).

Kai then went over to the box cautiously and activated his runic eyes. Kai saw a dreamlike mist that caused the onlooker to automatically fell drowsy and then the moment his hands touched the box…

Kai is a tourist on holiday when he is killed in a terrorist attack. He wakes up during the year 1981 in a forest and finds out that he is a vampire progenitor in the Harry Potter world. Kai then heads out to the nearest human settlement which happens to be Godric Hollow.

Mrs. Groscow observed her seventeen year old daughter as she walked down the stairs a visible scowl on her lips. Her tongue flicked through her teeth and the wine glass was swooshing dangerously on her fingers.

Jeans booty shorts and of course a purple tank top. Mia stopped at the end of the stair and crosses her arms.

"So you've resorted to flaunting? I see you gave up on your face." The first thing she uttered to her, kicking up her left leg across the right one.

Mia rolled her eyes and shifted her weight to her right foot.

"You're too fat for those shorts."Her mom points out blankly taking another sip of her drink. " You got a lot of mirrors to check that out for yourself, don't you?"

"I know. And that is why apps were created." She whispered but her mom caught  it, a small smile tugging at the end of her lips. The older woman's brow creaked app and she mused at her words.

"Why didn't you go to school today?" She chose to change the subject leaning back on the couch.

"My face." Mia obviously stated. She had vowed not to ever apply make up... Although she wanted to; apply concealer on her zits, mascara, a little lipstick perhaps.

'Oh my goodness Mia!You look like an undercooked turkey!' Her mother's words.

"I don't give a hoot miss! You have to go to school whether you look ugly, or uglier."

Luke Groscow got in at this moment. A male servant took his coat, briefcase and car keys. According to Annah, no female hand shall lay her hand on her man.

She was right to be protective, after all Luke was a male model, a really good looking male model younger than Annah by three years.

"Hey honey." He greeted his wife and made for the little drink area. "Hello Mia."He voiced to her daughter lifting the drink to her in some sort of a toss. She gave him a small smile.

He then walked back across the room and slumped down the comfy white couch. Pure fur.

"Your daughter missed school, again!" Annah started going back to the random act of flicking her tongue inside her mouth.

"Why?"

"Puberty. Look at her ugly face."

"Annah!" Luke raised his voice a little. He nervously watched Mia at the corner of his eye.

An uncomfortable silence enveloped them for about a minute.

"What's wrong with that? She's bright." Luke said in a monotone. A little low this time.

"That doesn't mean she can miss school, Luke."

"I need a shower." Luke announced downing his drink.

He walked to Mia and cupped her cheek. "You'll be fine. At least now everyone will want to look at your pretty face."

Mia smiled. Her dad always gave her hope. Always made sure she was smiling.

Yet her mom was the complete opposite. She is the one who got her a full make up set... Indirectly telling her you're ugly, yet she's still the one who hated the same make up on her.

"Just give me a minute and we'll go get that mirror, okay?"

Mia nodded. Yester night she was so mad she punched her bathroom mirror six times, getting hurt in the process.

Because she let her mother's words get to her.

They drove out of their expansive house onto a private road for five minutes before joining the main road.

Mia looked outside the window as they passed the mall. She didn't want to get her mirror from the mall because most of her schoolmates hang out there... and she wouldn't be seen dead with her pimply face.

They were going to an old shop downtown belonging to an old black man. She found the place after getting lostin the area. Of course she had to glance around before asking for directions.

"Here we are." Her dad announced stopping the car.

"I'll go alone." Mia quickly stopped her dad from unbuckling his seat belt.

She didn't want him to see her posing in front of mirrors, possibly giving herself a complimenting speech and other self embarrassing acts. "Just wait here. I will try not to take long."

"Well, okay..."

The door chimed on opening and the shop was visibly empty. No shopper appeared to be present apart from her.

"Hello?"She called looking around. The reception area was also empty. She decided to walk around the isles, admiring the fancy, plain and artistic mirrors.

"Hello?"She called out again. Last time he was here. The man was odd and always zoned out in his speech and it spooled her a little but he was no threat.

"Careful young girl, your voice might break the mirrors!" Mia whipped around immediately a little startled. The old man closed the door, made of a mirror that it actually looked like he was coming out of it.

He had the same old tired but warm smile on his face.

"Good evening Mr.William you do remember me?"

"Well of course!" He laughed and walked to her to shake her hand. "You're the crazy one, right?" His hands were rough and crusty and he possessed a firm grip. He released her hand finally and walked behind the counter.

Entirely reflective.

"What can I interest you with miss Groscow?" She was a little amazed that he remembered her awkward second name. Nevertheless, she spoke up.

"I need a bathroom mirror."

"Just that? Oh we have a lot... Framed perhaps? Slitted?"

"I need your most clearest mirror."

"Clearest?"

"Yes clearest, doesn't matter really, it'll still work."

"Well,all my mirrors are clear as you see, but you do want the clearest?"

"Yes."

"Okay then." The sir walked from the counter and walked to the door he had come out earlier.

"Come on, you have to pick for yourself... I have two of them, nobody really seemed interested in having the clearest mirror so they stay up back.

Mia nodded. She half trusted the man enough to set her teaser at 60V, not too much to kill him or paralyse him.

The back of the store was like a workshop. Wood and mirrors, noise from the glass cuter worked by a man and a set of boys preparing a frame.

"Here we are." Mr.William announced walking past the two boys.

He opened a closet and called one of the boys to help him take them out. Mr.William stood them on the width side leaning on the wall.

They were clear, more than Mia ever imagined. The surface seemed like a calm river, promising a ripple if the surface was gently poked.

But one had a slight crack on the left corner, and given the angle of a perfectionist by her mother, she picked the other one.

It was framed with dark brown wood and carved into a beautiful pattern. It looked ancient,and she fell in love with it. She took one last look of herself and smiled.

She turned and waited for Mr.William to finish showing the boys how to smoothen the edges.

"Which one will it be?" Mr.William asked still helping his boys out.

"The framed one."

"You got it, give me a minute."

Mia wanted to turn and look at it once more. Her reflection on it was beyond perfect, it was beautiful. It gave her a sense mysterious sense of security. She opted to look around the place, placing her hand over her lips.

If only she would turn then maybe she would change her mind, because her image was still smiling.

Beauty can be overwhelming sometimes. Mia punishes herself for being what the society calls 'ugly' striving to create a picture perfect image. She builds up an odd obsession to mirrors.

But no matter the clearest mirror she'll get, she's still the same old face. This time however, the mirror is not only the clearest, it's the scariest... She ends up being thrown into a world belonging to the dark forces, and she has no choice but to choose survival, that is until she is able to escape and claim her old life and stolen identity back.

Charming Luscious, a demon in training has other plans and so does a few who come to learn of a mortal in their world.
