On one of her patrols she discovers something or more like someone that no one has ever seen before.

INTRODUCTION

"School Days" is a Visual Novel which had been adapted into Anime in "2007". This Visual Novel was developed for Windows, PS2 and PSP. The Anime Adaptation of this Visual Novel of 12 episode and 2 OVA.
The genre in which this Anime is focused is "Harem, Romance and Slice Of Life". This Visual Novel was announced in October of "2004".
The game ranked as the best-selling Visual Novel and then Overflow (Developer) decided to produce multiple sequal with a spin-off named "Summer Days", "Island Days" and a parallel story named "Cross Days".
After 6 years of the release of the original series, "School Days" was remastered as "School Days HQ" in the same month as the first release.

PLOT
The plot of the story is focused on the life of a first-year high-school student "Makoto Ito" living with his divorced and unseen mother in the city of "Haramihara".
During his second-term,. he becomes attaracted towards "Kotonoha Katsura", a soft-spoken schoolmate who shares same train rides with him to the same route.
When his homeroom seating plan was rearranged, he becomes acquaintances with "Sekai Saionji", an exited girl, who takes a special interest in this newfound crush, befriending the two and providing them the opportunity to meet.
In spite of her successful efforts however, "Sekai" becomes jealous of the new couple, having developed feelings for "Makoto" to herself.

Wow ok, so um..., hello everyone it's your author for Ren 10 here and dang I did not expect to be gone so long without uploading anything whatsoever... This whole covid-19 deal and working on the visual novel have both been keeping me busy. So much so that I haven't uploaded any Ren 10 in so long and you also may have noticed something very odd. I haven't started anything on Ultimage (this is also because it didn't really work out for the webtoon so i just got rid of the idea entirely.), in fact you probably saw that I even changed the name of its Webnovel page and its description to something entirely different.




Well, the truth is that I am going from giving Ryan his own original story in Ultimage, to giving him or I guess I should say her a very important role in a novel adaption of bright futures, it will be titled Voided futures and will be a novel that will have long chapters to make way for a actual book (except for the first chapter, as you probably know I like to do introduction chapters to introduce main characters and a bit of storyline first.)




Samantha Rayan Jolm is probably going to be very important to the novel adaptation later on in the story, although she may meet some unfortunate circumstances, she is a tough character! So she will be able to make it through most of her situations, I hope you all enjoy what I have in store for you.

A lot of time went by as Ves and Professor Ventag iterated on the Aurora Titan design. After the second prototype followed a third and a fourth prototype. Each subsequent tests revealed fewer flaws and inconsistencies. All the major flaws had been worked away, and most of the newer problems that popped up emerged in response to earlier solutions.
Along the way, Ves also adjusted the Aurora Titan's aesthetics in order to make it look more appealing. The mech's likeness began to look more like its namesake. It looked like a large and bulky titanic sculpture with a modest amount of muscle definition. The mech resembled an ancient marble statue, but Ves swapped the humanoid head with an exobeast head on a whim.
That last change perplexed Professor Ventag a bit.
"The Aurora Titan is very much a humanoid mech. Why would you change it to a dinosaur head, Ves?"
"Since every test pilot who interfaced with the prototypes describe that they feel like they are piloting an exobeast, why not play around with it?" Ves replied over the comm. "Both you and I know that appearances matter. A humanoid head is so ubiquitous that it doesn't convey any particular meaning. The lizard head on the other hand will make the Aurora Titan a much more interesting visual spectacle. It stands out even more from the crowd of standard humanoid space knight designs."
The professor still looked like he disapproved. "The Aurora Titan's intrusive aesthetic features are too bold and in your face. I know from your previous works that you have a flair for adding an artistic touch to your mech, but the muscle definition that you've added to the mech will increase the cost and demand more skill to make the armor plating. This complex-looking lizard head is much more troublesome to produce than a standard humanoid head."
"Only the gold label edition of the Aurora Titan will feature all of these frills." Ves retorted. "The extra care and attention put into the aesthetics of its top-shelf model will make buyers more happy with spending tens of millions more credits on what is essentially the same mech. I've also worked on simplifying the artistic elements on the bronze and silver label editions to make them more suitable for mass production. The crystal tech I incorporated in them is also weaker but simpler to reproduce."
The three-tiered mech model scheme of the LMC somewhat clashed with NORA Consolidated's own approach. While Ves favored an artistic touch if he could get away with it, Professor Ventag generally valued form over function. The Senior preferred to design simple and clean-looking designs that were easy to fabricate and easy to repair.
The two argued over this issue for a while but Ves held his ground despite going against the will of a Senior. Since the Aurora Titan was pretty much his brainchild, Ves eventually got his way.
The professor dismissively waved his hand. "Fine. I'll indulge you on this matter. I do have to admit that your art does look appealing in some sense. This will be a benefit to our marketing campaigns even if you don't plan on selling a large number of gold label mechs."
The gold label mechs often times became the public face for the lesser editions even though there weren't that many out there in the wild. This happened with the Blackbeaks and the Crystal Lords. Their rarity turned them into genuine collector's items in some circles.
Ves did take the liberty of adding one particular aesthetic feature to every edition of the Aurora Titan.
He first scoured through NORA Consolidated's expansive library of licenses but failed to find what he needed.
He then browsed the MTA's library of endless component licenses and found the perfect component the job.
The Rescue Particle Generator was a small and energy-efficient component that emitted long-lasting glowing particles. As its name suggested, it was meant to be employed as a signal flare for stranded mechs and shuttles who were waylaid in deep space.
Unlike the Festive Cloud Generator, it did not require a source of fluid to function. It worked on both on land and in space and only increased the energy consumption of the Aurora Titan by a negligible amount. It was also small and flexible in its employment.
Ves added the emitters of the Rescue Particle Generator on the rear of the Aurora Titan design. The particles emitted from this addition not only blended in with the glow emanating from the flight system, but they also left behind a persistent trail in space that looked fantastic when the Aurora Titan was on the move.
Of course, Ves took into account that not every outfit or mech pilot wanted to paint a glowing golden stripe of its passage through space. There was no reason for the mech to puff itself up during routine patrols.
Aside from deactivating the Rescue Particle Generator, owners could also opt to remove them entirely without affecting the structural integrity of the mech.
"Hopefully, not a lot of people will choose this option."
The best part about the Rescue Particle Generator was that its function was so useless in raising the functional battle performance of a mech that its license was dirt cheap. It hardly impacted his bank account at all to license it for ten years, though he did contemplate on licensing it on a perpetual basis instead.
"With the knowledge I possess, it shouldn't be impossible for me to design my own gadget one day." He judged.
A perpetual license was many times more expensive than a standard ten-year license. Ves figured that within this span of time, he would surely be able to come up with something that provided even more visual flair than a component meant simply to put up a colored light to attract rescue.
Perhaps distracting himself with these visual aspects may not be entirely to the benefit of the actual design. However, both his design philosophy and Qilanxo's spiritual fragment approved of his attempts to beautify the mech. It turned the Aurora Titan into a much more interesting mech that distinguished itself further from the concept of mechs as disposable commodities.
"A mech that costs 100 million credits or more to buy ought to represent more than function."
While Ves admitted that form over function or simplicity to the point of minimalism each had their good points, that was simply not his design style.
"Functionalism and minimalism devolves the identity of a mech into its base role to its extreme. The company brand matters plays a greater role in how the mech is seen that its individual merits."
Some mech companies built up a very strong brand name and reputation for quality. They published simple-looking mechs with a unified aesthetic design that all leaned towards simplicity. Their designs were also part of the same product family, so they worked particularly well with each other.
All of this resulted in a trend whereby some outfits fielded an entire force of uniform-looking mechs! Actually encountering such a mech force was quite a sight!
In general, most mech designers didn't bother all that much with the visual design of their mechs. The general trend of mechs was to treat them as functional war machines. Mech designers therefore tended to lean towards simplicity and leave aside any unnecessary visual elements that might negatively impact the performance of their mech designs.
Ves actively fought against this trend. Why couldn't mechs be art?
"Even if mech designers don't actively work on the aesthetics of their mechs, they are still engaging in art."
The most important factor to take into account to Ves was that mech design involved both art and science. In fact, the profession blended the two into an intermingled whole. The science part affected the parameters of the mech while the art part shaped people's perception of the mech.
Many people and even mech designers often underestimated the impact of perception to the performance of the mech. Ves believed that mech pilots would treat their mechs like crap if they looked like garbage. On the other hand, if their mechs looked classy and expensive, then the mech pilots would never treat them like crap!
While these were extreme examples, mechs that looked boring or generic would not arouse any specific feelings to the mech pilot. This was a wasted opportunity to shape their perception and therefore the way they treated their mechs.
"If mechs are bots, then their appearances don't matter. The AIs that control them won't perform any differently whether machine looks like a rust bucket or a sculpture come to life. Humans are different. They are ruled by logic as well as emotions. It's the latter that is the key."
Due to his design philosophy, Ves spent a lot of effort in trying to master the ability to shape people's moods and emotion.
"They say a picture is worth a thousand words."
The true meaning of this phrase was that a picture was a great means of indoctrinating an audience without resorting to overt means!
"To put it more bluntly, art brainwashes people!"
This was a crazy statement to make, but as a mech designer Ves constantly tried to find a way to shape the perception of his target audience to his product.
Every artist tried to convey meaning in their works. Even if Ves visited an art gallery and taped a nutrient pack onto a wall, this work would still qualify as art! While the idea of affixing a nutrient pack onto a wall sounded ridiculous, it nonetheless sent out a specific message that affected the thoughts, emotions and moods of its audience!
Therefore, Ves very much thought that mech designers who focused more on the science and engineering aspects of their designs missed some of the points about their profession. Design encompassed both function and form. The latter deserved at least some attention, if only to prime the opinion of the market without resorting to expensive marketing campaigns!
Still, Ves was very cognizant that he could take this particular quirk of his and turn it into an obsession. His preoccupation with visuals frankly distracted him from paying more attention on the basic functionality of the design. Because he was very much willing to sacrifice a bit of performance if it made his mech look better, his products would never reach their full potential in terms of performance!
"So what? With my current design ability, my mechs already perform well enough to keep up with competing products."
While Ves did care about about the performance of his mechs, he did not fixate on improving it at all costs. Mech designers such as the Skull Architect were so sensitive towards inefficiencies that they would keep themselves preoccupied for weeks or months just to find a way to solve a minor issue.
During his time with the Whalers, the Flagrant Vandals and Lydia's Swordmaidens, Ves made an important observation that shaped his perspective on mech design. While many people tended to nitpick over the technical specifications of a mech, hardly any mech pilot ever managed to reach the upper limit of what their machines were capable of! What a mech could do in theory and in practice were very different!
Again, the example of the Skull Architect came to mind. His mechs were such impressive high-performing machines that one would think that his products would dominate the battlefield. The reality was very much different, especially in a very poor environment like the frontier.
Only aberrantly-skilled mech pilots, expert candidates and expert pilots hit or surpassed the limits of their mechs. The overwhelming majority of mech pilots always performed significantly worse than the capabilities of their mechs implied.
Therefore, rather than wrack his brains on maximizing the theoretical performance of his mechs, Ves would rather attempt to increase the average performance of the mech pilots that used his products.
"This approach is central to my design philosophy."
Shaping opinions and brainwashing his mech pilots through a mix of spiritual and visual design were very underappreciated aspects in modern-day mech design.
Any product or work of art that involved some design aspects always conveyed a meaning.
Ves just recognized this fact and weaponized it in order to advance the goals set by his design philosophy.
"Let's not kid myself. The biggest reason why I bother so much with visual design is because it will help me sell more mechs!"


Humanity has conquered half the galaxy and the Age of Mechs reigns supreme!

Ves Larkinson lacked the genetic aptitude to become a famed mech pilot. Fighting against his fate, he studied mech design in order to express his love for mechs as a builder instead of a soldier.

When Ves graduated from college, he returned to a new but empty boutique. Left with a small, newly founded mech workshop that his father painstakingly built with a mountain of debt, Ves somehow needs to make ends meet with the bank breathing down his neck.

In the midst of his despair, he found salvation from another legacy his father had left.

Jaemin, Mark, BamBam, Jackson, Jinyoung, Jaebum and Yugyeom were having their first group meeting. The name of their group, was GET7. JYP wasn't present due to an urgent matter that came up, since he was actually supposed to be there.

Which, by the way, greatly confused him, wasn't the name of the group supposed to be GOT7? Why has it suddenly become GET7?

Was it his influence? 

He didn't know, but he did know that he didn't like the name and so did the others. 

They were currently talking with each other, getting to know everyone. Their manager had already left the room so that they could have a good conversation.

Mark and Jackson were also busy showing off their martial arts skills.

Jackson interrupted Mark, "But hyung, can you do this?" He performed his usual, go-to front flip that he performs almost everytime when he gets asked to show a talent.

Mark replied, "Anyone can do that."

Jackson said, "Oh yeah? Show-" Jaebum was apparently annoyed with them and spoke up, "Come on, let's focus everybody."

Jaemin laughed and said, "As the leader, isn't that my phrase, Jaebum-ah?"

"Why use informal language? I'm your hyung Minjae-ya, I was born in 1994, you in 1995," said Jaebum questionably

Jaemin grinned, "I'm your sunbae in both the company and the entertainment business and I am also the leader of this group, doesn't it seem fit to adress you as such to not get the hierarchy messed up? I need to have my fair share of power to control you all don't I?"

Jackson was as loud as always, "We are all friends here, let there be no hierarc- Wait, wait, wait, Bboy King, you are born in 1994?"

"Mhm, why?" Jaebum asked.

"Then why have I been calling you hyung? I am born in 1994 as well!"

Jaemin thought, "Oh no, the notorious 1994 line dispute between Jackson and Jaebum had already taken place even before they debuted..."

Jaebum stated, "I'm born in January, I am a fast born!"

Jackson replied, "What is a mere two months difference?"

"Well...." 

"Let's just adress each other comfortably Jaebum.", said Jaemin

Jaebum nodded regretfully, "I'm fine with that, but that aside, what should we do about the name GET7? We don't like it."

Yugyeom finally said his firsts words after a short period of silence, "What about Axe7?"

"That's a deodorant company in America you fool." mocked BamBam.

"What about BFRIEND?", said Mark

Jaemin threw a comment, "Why copy GFRIEND like that."

"What do you mean, what is GFRIEND?" asked Jackson.

[ Oh damn, GFRIEND doesn't exist yet, euuuhhhhhh.... ], he thought

He just laughed it off, "Nevermind, nevermind, I don't like it though"

Jinyoung suddenly broke the silence by suggesting, "I like the name GOT7, what do you all think?"

"Bingo! It also sounds similar to the original," said BamBam.

The rest also all liked the name, so Jaemin eventually said, "Let's convince JYP then."

All of them agreed and were on their way to the office.

And after about an hour long discussion, it was all set.

The name of their group would be GOT7.

The role of visual could be heavily debated, weren't they all super handsome?

He exceeded the others by quite a margin, but they actually all had godlike appearances for normal Korean standards. They were definitely one of the top three boy groups with the best visuals, if not the best group.

GOT7 could be called a very special group.

Their choreo, was without a doubt, the hardest of all K-pop groups. 

Mainly due to the fact that they use tons and tons of martial arts and gymnastics moves in their choreographies. And their routine is in general, just hard to do while also singing. Their intro was the most respectable out of their routines, Mark was literally pushed sideways while he did a backflip, eventually flying over two members to then somehow still land without slipping.

This was the biggest reason that made them so popular in the beginning. No other groups did anything like this.

Jackson and Mark were the one's who did all of the flips, but that was all in the past.

Jaemin was now also added into the mix.

If you take into account the hard choreo's, exceptional visual quality, originality and overall uniqueness of it.

GOT7 was the exact definition of; "meme lords".

BamBam was constantly dabbing, Jackson was just a crazy, funny, sweet and pure nutjob, Yugyeom was the giant maknae, Mark the cute hyung, Jinyoung the handsome savage, ** the cool guy, and currently, Jaemin. The absolute lady-killer of the group, an extremely handsome badass.

If this was all added together...

Imagine the craziness that would present itself on variety shows and V-live streams.....

That aside, their debut.

It was coming soon, very soon.

January 2014, it was going to be crazy.

When JYP finally announces the members of the group, the world would go crazy.

Jaemin did not believe that GOT7 would be less popular than it was before, that would simply be impossible. His fame was already over the roof, while the others were also well known in the country, although not as much as him.

That was like saying that if seven hobo's made a group, that it would somehow get more popular than a group with actual talented performers.

Their debut song is still the same as before: Girls, Girls, Girls.

He hoped it would become a bop.

Kim Min-jae always dreamed of becoming a K-pop idol. He tried everything: taking acting and dance classes, becoming better at singing and rapping etc.

He had been a trainee, but got eliminated in one of the yearly evalutions.

Why?

He wasn't good at anything a k-pop idol should be good at. The only reason why he became a trainee is because he never gave up on his training.

One night, he looked up to the stars.

"Give me a chance to fulfill all my dreams"

Blaze-III joined the battle silently. With its appearance being unsophisticated as the 900 mechs around it, it struck the people as the next movement transformed it into an oddity. Acrobatically its metallic arms were looking elastic out of sudden, they were waving gently, flexibly, making a perfect curve when the container was lobbed beyond the crowd it was surrounded in.

Blaze-III's engine had been activated once the container left its palms. And within 0.6 second, the velocity had been maximized. The manual did mention about the minimum launching time of Blaze-III being 0.9 second yet Ye Chong somehow saved that 0.3 second. Any folk from the spectator's area might assume the insignificance of that 0.3 second, but to any pilot like you and me, that 0.3 second could produce miracle. 

As the required time for acceleration decreased, the pressure the body had to withstand would proportionally increase. While 0.9 second was already the quickest a typical Blaze-III could boot - on paper that is, one could imagine how it felt to force-boot within 0.6 second. It would be easily terrifying by just looking at it.

Booting an unmodified mech quicker than the recommended safety duration or making an illusion of elasticity on mechanical arms, either of them was enough to make a few spectators spring from their seats. Now, imagine both of them happening together. Certainly people would be fixed on their seats, while their brains were jammed. 

The performance did not end here. Blaze-III, a model to be assumed for the novices that could barely do a thing, had somehow taken steroids somewhere in the dark. And it got into position again.

Super short-ranged quick turns! Speckled Moon Spin! Thomas's Spin! 

Ye Chong chained three sets of moves in a distance of less than 300 meters. The formation around Blaze-III had been distorted. The trained pilots were trying their best to hold this pimp up by intuition, yet every quick turn Ye Chong made, they were slightly pushed away. And Ye Chong performed 12 quick turns in a shot, excluding the 6 feints he pulled off to mislead their undertrained foes. 

Ye Chong did not spare the next few seconds as the Speckled Moon Spin pretended that he was going to leave. The pilots panicked as they broke through their formation, launching their machineries upon Blaze-III. 

To end the show, Ye Chong lifted Blaze-III from the closing crowd with a Thomas's Spin. The container landed right within Blaze-III's proximity and the mechanical arms gave a gentle flip and sent the container right ahead. 

The last 10 seconds lapsed in dead silence. No one spoke, the commentators all zipped their mouths. The audience was wordless. 

"Holy..."
And they began screaming uncontrollably. People were jumping on their beds in their rooms, the hotel had been exploded with hurrahs. No one understood their own scream, nor their friends'. They just screamed, for this moment impossible to be put into words.

Amazement. Pure amazement.

The audience had been overwhelmed by the performance. The world had been dominated by a mere Blaze-III.

The pilot had demonstrated something beyond the beauty of martial arts, that people would pull their hair, jumping in craze.  

Meanwhile, the 6 pilots were still unnerved by the last move, so were a majority of the audience before the screen. They could not comprehend a thing that happened, but it would not stop the audience to board on the hype train. 

A strong visual impact. It was a mind-blowing scene to the laymen at the spectators' seat, while it turned out to be a mind-dominating view to the pilots. The unwritten rule of the records of history was this simple - an instance or a person would become the classic, a known tale for the following centuries, once they were reminisced, or they were retold to the following generations of their impeccable doings. 

And this very visual was destined to be a legend since the day it was created. This single tape had topped every other downloads in the visual ranking within a year, and was incorporated into more than 50 types of learning materials for piloting. Certainly the number of times it was quoted in academies was simply astronomical.

The few seconds of visual had told many, many stories. That gentle toss leading the entire scene had shown how the entire situation was under the grasp of this mysterious boy. 

People had researched it, professionally. They concluded, while the movement seemed to be all graceful and enchanting, the difficulty was of insanity. Based on the outcome of their experiment, technically the number of inputs required per second would be easily gazillions in order to achieve the particular effect. One could already imagine the APM of this mysterious boy when he laid his hands on the control panel. 

All these inputs, accomplished within 0.6 second of acceleration, were convincingly inhumane of the boy to the public. Was he even a human?

The more intriguing was the intelligibility demonstrated by this boy. Super Short-ranged Quick Turn, Speckled Moon Spin, Thomas's Spin... all were not the most indigenous moves utilized by a senior pilot today, yet the boy had applied them creatively, within a brief 300 meter range... The condensation of movements chained by the intense quick turn had once again verified the speculation that the boy possessed an inhuman physique, while it also had successfully fulfilled the goal of holding the enemies thanks to the peculiar shifts cleverly disguised by Blaze-III.

Speckled Moon Spin was a shocker. A Moon Spin was typically identified by the orbit made by the mech during the travel, which formed a virtually perfect circle like the moon, whereas a speckled one would be a consecutive repetition of these rapid spins. Speckled Moon Spin was known for its minimal changes of spatial pattern during the performance, as it would almost seemingly creeping its way, in an intense velocity which was perfect for runaways. Thomas's Spin was... quite the contrary, the movement was large while being comparatively slow.

The conventional sequence would be an alternation between Thomas's Spin and Speckled Moon Spin, but this Blaze-III was preferring being the deviant, as it actually attempted a runaway using the slow Thomas's Spin while using Speckled Moon Spin as its cover. 

Convention? Yes! That's why! 
It was a little puzzling to most pilots out there at first, yet their eyes went wide open when they thought it out. Since it was a convention, the foes would assume the mech running away whenever it performed a Speckled Moon Spin, yet in actuality it was taking a cover. That would be a method to disrupt the formation of the foes! The deception would work, the formation would loosen and then the pilot would use Thomas's Spin to drastically remove himself! Thomas's Spin was slow but the range was more than enough to overcome the opened gap! 

The boy had completed 3 typical techniques within the range of 300 meters, evidently telling the foes that he was not giving them any second to ponder on counters. That would be the key to succeed in a fight.

Moreover, the timing of he escaping the siege and grabbing the falling container were impeccable. Assuming it was no coincidence as he managed to do that, that would be a rather frightening standard of deducing prediction.

The last move of Blaze-III was an actual technique of martial artists, though performed via mechanical limbs, which seemed so graceful however, proving the extreme APM of the mysterious boy. 

It did not sound that it lived to the crowd's craze but it was pretty logical for Ye Chong to be this phenomenal, as he was born in an age of those who wielded great skills despised their visuals being publicized, where all of them refused to be a research material for they never wanted to risk having their weaknesses identified and thus eliminated. So an actual visual of mech performance was a hard-find. Of course the crowd would go crazy over a once-in-a-blue-moon high-quality visual in high-definition.

The pilots who were watching the performance had been stoned, including those in the flying mechs who almost got gashed by the flying mutated lifeforms. 

The pilot of Blaze-III was feeling otherwise however, as lethargically he tossed the container, like a hardworking construction worker.

And all containers had finally been launched, Bi Bo immediately ignited the Bluefire reagent.

Dimming Blue, the phenomena of a chemical reaction had once again bloomed, gorgeously!

The flames of Dimming Blue were a warning sign to all the pilots who were again astonished by its overwhelming vigor. 

Soon the flames formed a complete circle, protecting the alchemy department. 

A golden figure rapidly zapped across the wall. In a winding golden line Rui Bing travelled in the Guardian. It was not her usual velocity but she was getting used to the Guardian. 

Certainly, those mutated lifeforms trapped within the circle would be the best dummy for her to practice. 

The afterimages of golden threat stacked up quickly as Rui Bing's movements accelerated. That pair of daggers sliced through the weakness point identified by the system skillfully. Rui Bing came attacking wildly like a feline with honed claws. Unlike Ye Chong, she was truly the descendant of martial arts. And a close-combat model like the Guardian was a perfect match for her, especially with the strength-enhancing mechanism which could overcome the weakness of her naturally low vitality as a woman.

The monstrosity flinched, as desperately the mutated lifeforms looked for ways to escape. Their compatriots rapidly decreased as Rui Bing swung her blades.

The audience was feeling relieved, as the pilots seemed to be regaining the control of the situation. 

And that was when Ye Chong's pupils shrunk drastically, upon seeing the screen.

Alex turned back when he heard the monotonous voice of a man behind him.

'What the fuck is this?!' he pondered upon seeing the floating, blue plate in front of him, 'I just woke up after being crippled. Now, I am hallucinating, great.'

He rubbed his eyes, then blinked a few more times. 

[The System has confirmed the Host's mental stability.]

He heard the same voice while the text written on the plate changed.

Alex tried to move. He felt the pain in his leg then he realized what is happening.

His eyes widened while he looks at the pale blue box.

He remembered the time he was fighting the dragon, pale blue boxes such as this was floating on his line of vision. He thought that he was hallucinating at that time about the games he played as a kid.

He thought that he was hallucinating again.

But he can see the rough walls beside him, he can hear the demonic goblins outside the small chamber, and most of all, he can feel pain.

He is not hallucinating.

A wry smile and a smug look replaced his confused visage. 

In front of him was the thing that saved his life from Rhaizan, so why not smile.

"You're back?" he asked like a child waiting for reassurance.

[The System confirms]

After seeing the new text, Alex didn't wait for a second and asked every question in his mind to clarify everything.

"Where did you go?" he asked. The fact that he has a broken leg because this thing left him alone in this dark cave full of goblins is something he still can't get over.

The letters etched in the plate started to change.

[The System have gone into a Dormant State due to lack of energy, after using The System's resources to reconstruct the Host's body]

"Reconstruct? Why?" he asked curiously.

[With the System's intervention, the Host have used his Life-Force and Body as a source of energy to eradicate a threat, resulting in the Host's Body and Soul's disintegration]

Due to the plate's small size, the System erased the earlier text to start a new sentence, but Alex can't control his curiosity anymore.

"In short, I died?" Alex interjected.

[The System confirms]

"Okay, continue," he said.

[The System salvaged a Stem Cell from the Host's body and a Soul Wisp from the Host's soul. The Host's Body is reconstructed using these two materials and the System's energy and resources]

Alex felt guilty after his shameless questions. 

The System has saved his life, not once but twice. 

Then he remembered something that the System said.

He shook off his guilt and continued asking the System.

"If your lack of energy forced you in a Dormant State, where did you get your energy to awaken?"

[The System gathered 10% of the Host's produced Life-Force every day and used it as an energy source]

"So you're a parasite, that's why you're calling me Host all along?" he asked.

[The System denies]

"What are you then?" 

[The System is an independent remnant of a disintegrated Energy Being, having an ego but no memories]

Alex figured out by himself that the Energy Beings the system is talking about are powerful creatures. If the System, a remnant of one, can reincarnate a person, a whole Energy Being will be stronger.

"How did I become your Host?" he continuously asked while the System tirelessly replies.

[The System was in charge of sealing the Elder Dragon. A stronger Energy Being forcefully lifted the seal resulting in the System's Emergency Escape]

Hearing the word Elder Dragon, Alex's casual visage darkened. 

[After being forcefully taken away from the current mission, the System was left wandering to search for an Energy Source to recuperate and resume duty]

[After releasing massive amounts of Despair, the Host's Life-Aura became open for Energy Beings to assimilate, the System used this to feed on the Host's produced Life Force.]

After seeing a chance to get information about his target, Alex wasted no second and confirmed his suspicions.

"Are you talking about Rhaizan?" he seriously asked.

[The System confirms]

Hearing the confirmation from the System, Alex swallowed hard.

He was able to fathom the System's terms. The Energy Being that attacked the System is the god he wants to kill.

His jaw stiffened in anticipation. 

He forced his mouth to let the words out.

"What's the name of the Energy Being that attacked you?" Alex specifically asked.

His expecting eyes were focused on the thin plate as the words on it started to change.

[The System failed to get the Assailant's Identity due to the Remote Energy Bombardment]

Disappointment tinged his face upon hearing these words.

He failed to get info, but the System's failure gave Alex a new definition of his target's power.

Alex thought that if he wants to kill that god, he needs to be stronger than him. He knew that it's impossible for him alone, but he's not alone anymore.

"Can you give me that power again?" he hopefully asked after recalling his fight with Rhaizan.

[The System denies]

Alex felt hopeless after hearing that, but the System didn't stop talking.

[The Host's Self-Destructive Outburst is only encouraged by the System to finish the Mission:{Prevent the Elder Dragon from killing}. The System will only aid the Host if the System's Owner gives an order]

'Using my life as a tool to further your mission,' Alex thought, 'how cunning.'

He wanted to smack the System but decided against it. He thought that the System only follows its Owner's order.

"Can I talk to the Owner?" He irritatedly asked.

[The System denies]

[The Owner disintegrated a long time ago. Recovery is impossible]

"Huh?"

"You said earlier that you have an Owner, but now you're saying your owner is dead." Alex explained with a stressed look, "I don't get what you're saying."

[The System's Ownership Clause states that unless a replacement takes over, the System's Ownership will remain on the former Owner]

"Ahh..." Alex understood something, but a new question formed in his mind, "Then... Who's your new Owner?"

[The System's Emergency Ownership Clause states that the System will get its Ownership if the Owner died remotely or no successor is left to inherit the System]

"So technically, now that your owner is dead, you have the Ownership of yourself. Am I right?" Alex asked.

[The System confirms]

"So, right now, you're a property that owns itself?" Alex teasingly asked.

[The System confirms]

"If you owned yourself, why would you follow the mission given by your FORMER owner?" He asked, emphasizing the word former.

[The System's Mission Completion Clause states that the System should complete missions given at all costs. If the Ownership changed, the new Owner should finish the former Mission before issuing a new one]

"That's a fucked-up rule. If your Owner died and left no successor, you're forced to do the Mission by yourself." Alex said in an irritated voice. He thinks that the treatment received by the System is unfair.

The System might not have any memories or will of its own, but the fact that the System can feel means that it's alive. 

He thought that the one who created this System is a heartless bastard. The clause stated by the System is proof of its life of servitude.

[The System agrees with the Host  (╯▅╰) ]

'Emojis!'

"Hahahahahahahaha!" Alex can't help but laugh at the System's sudden show of emotion. 

[The System is offended  (╬ ಠ益ಠ╬) ]

Alex laughed even more.

Meanwhile, the goblins outside his chamber are talking among themselves.

They thought that Alex lost it after Akz broke his feet.

They were sent by the shaman to see how he is doing, but they saw him talking to the empty air while changing emotions a couple of times.

The goblins walked back to report to the shaman.

Alex laughed for a while before stopping.

"What's your mission now?" Alex asked while trying hard to contain his laughter.
